I'm in Siem Reap right now, with a woman I met online half a year ago. Before we've been to Koh Rong island. Love the country, love the people. So much more friendly than Thais. Couldn't believe it in the beginning.

I went to Phnom penh earlier this year. I didn't bother with Anchor Wat because I thought there would be a lot of walking around. I hooked up with a local girl and she knew all of the tourist stuff to do. We had a week together and went to a temple that was overwhelmed with wild monkeys and also stayed a few days on one of the islands... beautiful scenery. Great memories of the place, it sort of reminded me of the Thailand of 25 years ago.

Great Vid Trev, can't wait for part2. I did Siem Reap years ago when they used the old military airport for arrivals/departures which was just 10mins up the road from the center, shame its now over an hour from the new international one. Pub street has changed and by your video there seems to be more bars off the pub street area to venture too, hotel looks fab also, thanks for making this video and i am glad you like it there, hope the others that are with you enjoy Siem Reap also.

Stayed in same Hotel a few years back - Perfect place for Siem Reap. Angkor Wat is the most amazing place I have visited - did Sunrise tour but you can't get to see the Whole place in a day - many do 3 day tours. If you think its crowded then wait until midday when 100,000 Chinese appear. You can easily get a plane to Phenom Phen or even better Sihanouckville and get speedboat to Koh Rong an amazing Island almost paradise. Trevor enjoy your trip brings back happy memories.

I visited Cambodia during November last year and really enjoyed it. Not putting crap on Thailand but I have to say the Cambodian people seemed less mercenary and more happy to see tourists than the Thais.
We did the dawn viewing at Angkor and it’s definitely overrated in my opinion , just visit during the day. Make sure to bring lots of clean small denomination US dollars to avoid hassles with currency exchange.

hi trev.i live in siemreap for 11 years now.this is high season so overcrowded.in hot season its nerly dead as in rainy season.pubstreet starts around 7pm,peoplefo first visiting the temples
    beer is around 50cent to 1 $ food from 1,5$ to .....
hookers are around 20$ a pop to ...
still cheaper then pattaya. you pay 30$ for a tourist visa and 35 for a regular visa.the regular visa you can prolong indefenitly, so much easier to stay then thailand.

But don’t forget to visit during the cool season, around December to February. That way, you won’t burn yourself and can enjoy everything comfortably.

That's a big problem with these very known places : overcrowded .
I had the same problem in Chichen Itza Mexico and that was already some time ago in 2008 : too many people and all about souvenirs
In some Spanish and Italian cities it has gone so far that the locals want the tourists out .
As a photographer it is almost impossible to take a decent picture unless the use of a tripod and 1000 nd filter in order to get people out of your attempt to create something nice. ( might try that one night in soi buakhao )
Today it is all about selfies and smartphones . Love my Vivo Xpro 100 , but a camera with a viewer is still the best way to go.

going at sunrise is overrated not a spectacular view and you have to compete with hordes of people .Been a couple of times well worth the trip..Angkor Thom is the best part of the temples in my opinion. There are many scammers to watch out for and people hustling for money this puts me off the whole SE Asia experience

I had to give the immigration officer 1000 baht under the table for him for some reason, my taxi/tour guide wanted me to pay his rent for the month and pay for new tires for his car.

@terryb4547 Cambodia offers visa-free entry to citizens of 11 countries, primarily from the ASEAN region. These include Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Myanmar, Singapore, Timor-Leste, and Seychelles. Nationals from these countries can visit Cambodia without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. And Thailand offers visa-free just one of your country.

Its 50 quid if you opt for the ordinary visa on arrival which allows you to get your retirement visa through the local travel agent for one year around 300 quid.
