Which was your favourite out of all these vehicles??
Definitely the cobra!!! 🤤🤤
2 $mill Cobra
I'm a big Cobra fan, but you have to stop dead in your tracks when there's a GT40 in the room! 😎
The gt 40 and the cobra.
The replica cobra and the replica gt40 😉
Frankly, I think Warren is the "Holy Grail" here. And THANK YOU for just letting him talk, uninterrupted, to tell his tales. Wonderful.
@superbear617 Agreed! Thanks very much for watching!
This gentleman is amazing to listen to, people like this are a treasure! When they are gone all that information is lost!.. could listen to him for hours
This man needs to have a major documentary made of his unbelievable ability not only to collect but his mind his recall,
He is a National Treasure
Doug 😎
Truly an amazing collection and a great guy! Thanks for watching, Doug!
100% !
could not agree more Doug
@@soberingrestorationservices Watching you guys from Europe GT40 was were i stopped the video and re-watched again that section, the fellow there is definitely a real petrolicious gentleman and both Cobra & GT-40 sounded absolutely amazing !
Thank you. Check out our second video on these cars.
WHAT AN AMAZING HUMBLE GUY!💥🙌👊AUSTRALIA!
@glengrant3884 he really is! Thanks for watching!
Ditto...NZ !!
Warren is such a great guy and family friend! He is the most humble person I ever met!
@davejaykins539 he certainly is!
This dude is bigger than life ❤! This dude is one person I won’t ever forget for the rest of my life, one of the best videos I’ve seen in my life , THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS as I am a Ford Nut guy ! Adelaide , South Australia 🇦🇺
This man in an absolute legend. A true treasure. We need more videos like this to capture his knowledge. GREAT stuff (and I'm a Chevy guy). Simply wonderful, I could listen to him for hours.
@bobjackson7516 He certainly is. Thanks for watching!
I feel honored a DD shirt made it in that building haha
👍👍🇨🇦
That was some video! What an honor it would be to be able to hang out with that guy!
Dan your fuel injected 57 that you took on Power Tour last year I believe, is one of the coolest cars I've ever seen!
Check out part 2.
Awesome find and content guys. Looking forward to more from this guy. As a retired Ford engineer I love listening to guys like Warren talk about design features that most people would never know.
@380.motorsports he's got so many stories, stay tuned for part 2!
You guys need to sit this guy down and do a video on each of these cars, the stories and his attention to detail are INSANE
If/when he decides to sell them on his knowledge will add tremendous value
We have upcoming videos of sitting down with Warren and having him tell his stories. Stay tuned.
I’m a ford man thanks to my dad. I drive a for to this day at 47 years old . And this guy would be some one that I would love to learn from . This is a great UA-cam video.
@pablochacon40 thanks for watching!
This is the type of Storytelling that I've been looking for on UA-cam for years thank you so much for finally producing something worthwhile in this f****** station not your subscription but UA-cam
Many more stories to come. Stay tuned.
Amazing what Warren has inside his head for historical auto knowledge. People like this need to have their memories and recollections kept for posterity. Great to see you him talk and educate all of us and not just focusing on the cars themselves. Kudos.
Stories upon stories! Each as informing as the last. Thanks for watching, Michael!
Encyclopedia Warren. Amazing.
On the GT-40, when he was speaking about the push from the air that had passed through the radiators - I remember hearing engineering tests on Rolls-Royce Merlin-powered WW2 aircraft like the Spitfire where a re-design of the exhaust stacks gained something like 12 miles per hour for the plane's top speed - using the power of the exhaust for extra boost.
thats what my uncle said he drove spits
True also for the Mustang sister ship, the T-28. I flew the T-28B in Navy flight training as the first stop on my way to my Navy Wings. As I recall the NATOPS indicated some 12% added exhaust thrust at full power. There may have been a graph as well in the back of the book. The nine-cylinder radial was equipped with a two-stage supercharger, requiring a blower shift at 12,500ft during climb-out.
I think originally the Merlin's exhausts pointed forward, to minimise the risk of the pilot's view being obscured by the oil spots etc coming out.
37:51 That "not so cool" car is a Ford Taurus SHO and it is most definitely a cool car!
Since I own one I was hoping he would say something about it when he turned past the Pantera, and was REALLY pissed when he didn't.
He is has vast amount of knowledge. Teaching about why and how systems work. An excellent teacher to whom I would direct all my attention to in class. The way he explains in detail and nobody was interrupting him with silly questions.
@thebrain7065 He certainly does. Stay tuned for part 2!
That GT40 running gives me goose bumps.................
He tells great stories. Like being in the Cobra on the hyw in winter.
And all his cars run.
The GT 40 incredible orator of the history.
@dougherdman4827 More to come! Thanks for watching!
Thanks For Sharing. ❤️😀
Wow. What a collection !! And Warren is a great guy and just a fountain of automotive knowledge. Cant wait for part 2 and more of his collection.
@MWL4466 more to come, thanks for watching!
Man is a legend and no one who owns one of these cars in the future (the cobra for sure) will ever have the personal connection with them like he does.
Awesome collection. Warren certainly has a wealth of knowledge about these old classics.
He certainly does. Thanks for watching, Dave!
@@soberingrestorationservices
i could listen to Warren for days just awesome thanks
Wow. . Just wow.
This is one excellent video. There are guys like him scattered around North America that know so much and kinda blend into the woodwork. My favourite is that Starliner. And nice shot of Dave exiting the bathroom 😂
Hey Ron, thanks for watching!
I believe that the GT40 is a Safir MkV that was produced in the early '80s. This guy has come really cool stuff!
Aerodynamics. As a retired aircraft mechanic that one word sums up the movement of any object through the air. F-1 race car teams spend a fortune on this one aspect of the cars ability to out run its competitors.
Wow..that is car heaven..is that a museum
Just a personal collection. Check out part 2.
Outstanding
That cammer 427 is massive.
😮 the Holy Grail amazing ❤ Gt 40wow the cars holy Hollywood dreams 💯💪😁💢😎🎉
That Gt 40 I'd daily. Its absolutely beautiful
Truly an amazing person!
Absolutely.
When he opened the hood on that Cobra, I was awestruck! Great job Mr.Warren .
Thanks for watching, Wayne!
I've seen one other SOHC in a Cobra and Jay Leno was driving it. A shop called Ford Power Parts used to be located on Carmenita Rd in Santa Fe Springs, Ca and the owner hosted an informal gathering/car show once a year.
I was there with my buddy drooling over all the cool cars and parts when Jay Leno pulled up in a light blue Cobra with a friend. He got out, said hi to everyone, opened the hood and left to see the show.
A cammer in all its glory was nestled in there like it had always been intended to be.
Wow what a walking encyclopaedia. What a sick collection of auto history. Cheers from sth Australia 🇦🇺 👍
Thanks for watching, Jeremy!
I could listen to that Gt. 40 all day
@davidthomits544 same! Great sounding car
For the curious:
The Detomaso Pantera were assembled in Italy and used a Ford sourced 351 Windsor engine in the first year of production (1971). Ford imported the cars for North America and sold them through their Lincoln Mercury dealer network that same year.
In 1972 the engine was switched to a Ford 351 Cleveland and it used that engine right until 1988 and then switched to the Ford 5.0 V8. Ford ceased importing/selling the Pantera in 1975. The Pantera was built from 1971-1992 (7,260 cars total) There’s a lot more to the history of the car you can read about on Wikipedia
If Warren sees this we miss you buddy--Its been along time since we have seen you over at Gary's East Valley Mustang in Mesa, Az!
Warren reads all the comments, but may not respond. I will mention your comment to him later this week when we go back to visit him. Thanks for watching.
I love people that share the knowledge that’s the most Admirable thing An elite car enthusiast like this gentleman could do Thank you sir
Thanks for watching, Joshua!
I have to say the gentleman who owns these cars is so incredibly intelligent about them but is so gracious to his visitors! I wish I could go just to be in his presence!
@Kahuna54 We're very grateful that Warren took the time to give us the tour and shared his stories. More to come yet!
That GT450 is so so so so so so so fukkin cool! Dream car. total dream car.
Check out part 2 buddy.
Buy them all ❤
Watching this video makes me miss my grandads so much..
They are great I will take them both but they are not from the original Shelby production they are continuation cars made in the 1980's and 90's hence the Fiberglass body on the Cobra and not the original Aluminum. If you listen to the videos he says so 4:50. The GT40 is a MK5 made in the 90's they were not the original Aluminum Chassis but in fact a unibody car as he describes at 26:18. Don't get me wrong I wish they were mine !
Great episode. But I am shocked at how little you know about the automotive world having a channel dedicated to it.
I'm not really a ford guy, so I don't know alot about them. GM is more my groove. I kinda redeemed myself in the video coming out on Friday.
... where's your channel ???
GT-40 has to be the greatest race car ever built. I can't imagine what this car is worth.
I just found this video...ABSOLUTELY AMAIZING!!! I'm not a Ford guy, but I'm a car guy, and this is just cool on all levels. I agree with others, he needs his own show to share his knowledge and experiences. Truly awesome and thank you so much for sharing. I look forward to watching more of this. Thank you.
@yellow-csix3744 Much appreciated! Definitely more content on its way. Thanks for watching!
This is a great interview. He’s very informative. He’s correct that Phil was a genius and should have gotten more credit for their success in the movie. I assume that he’s very wealthy. What business is he in?
I watched this in my car and my subwoofer went nuts when he started that cobra! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the shout out in the comments
A Cammer in a Cobra! Who would have thunk! 😆
An incredible sounding car! Even better in person haha. Thanks for watching, Dan!
When the Pantera was released in the states, I was in high school. I drove to my local Lincoln Mercury dealer, walked right up to one on the showroom floor. It was a somewhat deep brown metallic. I looked over the sticker then the bottom line. $9999.95
I had to chuckle... they kept it under $10K. This in the day when I'd bought a brand new Toyota for 1/5th that amount. I just found it very hard to believe anyone had that kind of money, in those days, to buy something so... so impractical. Wasn't much you could do with it... long trips would have been painful. I'm 6'4" - couldn't get into it (doors locked of course) but just looking inside hurt. 🙂
A couple years earlier I'd tried to convince Dad he needed a Mustang 🙂Instead, he got a Mercury Montclair with a 390, 2bbl. No Mustang but she would go faster than I ought to have driven her.
This was a cool video what a collection and what a neat owner wow
The biggest tragedy will be when he passes and all the stories he has never get told. Amazing amazing amazing collection and what an incredible steward of the these cars.
@dwtrksvc A fantastic experience being able to take a tour of Warren's shop. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for part 2!
So true, his collection is so UN-CLINICAL !!
... an audio biography would b priceless - thou there would b nearly un-ending volumes n volumes of information - he'd have to start asap !
37:28 De Tomosa was the manufacturer of the Pantera and Mangusta (Mongoose) which had Ford running gear. There may have been a Ghia connection.
Fascinating story behind Alejandro DeTomaso who was an Argentinian race car driver who started his car company in Modena Italy. He even built an F1 car for Frank Williams in 1970.
Sure wasnt expecting that level of in depth info. living history amazing stories
@pintobeens1 They certainly are. Thanks for watching!
I NEED to meet this guy...
love this history.... cammer .....
Wow, unbelievable.
Damn that 72 bronze Bumpside CamperSpecial is GORGEOUS ❤ I LOVE the 67 Bumpside and the 2002 Bright red F-150 supercharged Lighting
Audio was an issue, couldn't hear half of what the old guy said...! Thanks though, keep up your awesomeness and go enjoy some nature today...!
We've got the audio problem figured out. They will be getting better soon. Thanks.
Thanks
Warren should have a UA-cam just to share his knowledge or stories. That one day will be lost, but man he captures you with what he says. Amazing!
@daphnyobregon4493 We're very thankful to be able to document and share his knowledge. Amazing stories. Thanks for watching!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is sitting on MILLIONS of dollars in history.
Amazing! Very interesting fellow. Great stories. Thanks for putting it out there for everyone to see.
Thanks for watching!
Pete Brock gave an interview explaining the aerodynamics of your car. He designed the air flow of the GT. At the time nobody gave it a second thought. After the win at Le Mans they all wanted the secrets. I spent 30 years as a Hang Glider pilot and flew Pete's UP wings and could appreciate his genius.
As a diehard Ford guy from Australia, I was left virtually speechless after seeing 2 cars worth probably 1 mil each........so many parts...cool cars....rare cars....omg.......old mate seems very down to earth and super knowledgeable. Absolutely want the Detomaso pants tearer......look forward to the 2nd instalment.
@darrindouglas1 thanks very much for watching! Part 2 coming very soon!
Back in the late 60's when I was 12, I got a slot car set that raced GT40s round an oval track. I Loved it! Now, to see the real thing, WOW!
@berniemcfadden7760 pretty amazing to see!
Hope that old boy lives forever and those cars stay hidden away right there
AWESOME VIDEO AND SUBJECT, he is AWESOME
Man that GT 40 sounded like a beast!!! Built for speed, handling, and durability! Awesome man with some truly awesome cars and trucks!
@Sully312 It certainly is a treasure! Thanks for watching!😎
Amazing tour, interesting insights and stories, thanks for letting us see these great cars.
wowza incredible what a collection and a great guy , gotta love got a gt 40 awesome
@liamfinn7339 thanks for watching!
Love the get in and go days. Like no big deal, oh the things I've driven across the country i would drive across the street these days 😂
What a bloody legend john Australia
Wow !!!! I ran in to you guys for the first time today and was taken back by all that Warren said . I am in your corner now !!!!!
Much appreciated, Drew! More content coming soon!
I have been a Ford guy all my life and really enjoyed your video! Thanks!
Appreciate it James, thanks for watching!
To be in that building must’ve been cathartic.
Pantera - body/chassis by De Tomaso in Italy, Ford engine, I think the transmissions were by ZF - European.
Tim Horton had a Pantera and rolled it into a ball of tin at about 150 mph. I was a kid delivering papers in Stonewall (Mb) - I can still remember reading that article about Horton.
A lot of zf transmissions made it into Fords. The zf5-42 and zf5-47 was the granny low 5 speed transmission available in all Ford trucks for over a decade. The zf6 was the 6 speed mated to the 6.0 diesel. The 05-06 GT also had a zf transaxle.
@@tailwatcher2500 The 05-06 Ford GT featured a Ricardo 6 speed trans. I believe that some of the early test cars used a RBT6 ( updated version of the GT40/Pantera ZF 5 speed) .
i thought my Vincent Black Shadow special motor was a tight fit when it came to working on it but that 427 motor in the Cobra takes the biscuit, where there's a will etc, etc.
Plumbers nightmare.
@@Gregsheppo66 you're thinking of the 'A' series machines.
Holy crap that a real cobra. And Th that a Gt omg
Watch part 2 for more details. Thank you.
There isnt much extra room under the hood of the cobra with a 427 shoehorned in there! What an amazing collection! And a very nice guy!
The GT40 a beast off a car that thing will be worth millions i recon
It's a Safir MkV built in the '80s. Still worth several hundred thousand but not millions.
Ford lovers dream
That red Taurus 94 I think it's a sho
Yes it is a S.H.O. Taurus, that body style is a gen 2, late 92-95, the motor is a 4cam v-6 built by Yamaha with a claimed 220hp, but my TOTALLY STOCK 95 5-speed has been dyno-ed at 270hp at 230,000 miles.
@denniscollins needs to do a coffee walk episode here his knowledge of Shelby and fords would make for super conversations with warren
What an incredible wealth of knowledge
Hopefully someone grabs the torch from him, to carry on the legacy
Nothing else sounds like a 427 SOHC. I’m determined to own one some day.
427 SOHC. I’m 53 years old and have been to hundreds of swap meets and car shows and have seen exactly TWO in the flesh. They’re so rare they make a 426 Hemi commonplace by comparison. Interestingly, one of the ones I saw was in a Cobra. It was at Spring Carlisle in ‘95, ‘96, or ‘97. I can’t remember exactly. I seem to remember the Cobra as being blue and if it wasn’t a real CSX, they sure made it look convincing.
Amazing!
As a 51 year old man,I love these ole timers. There sadly a dieing breed.
Those are some incredible cars. OMG. Think the Pantera came with the 351W. The Starliner looks spectacular. The knowledge and history in Warren's head will likely never be matched after he's gone. It's a real shame. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and stay well.
Truly an amazing collection. Thanks for watching, Brian!
Pantera came with a 351C.
351 Cleveland, same as the Aussie XY GTHO Falcon
This he say what the chassis number of the GT40 was? Im curious as I have the book with all the chassis numbers to see where and who raced it. Thanks so much.
Not a real GT40, a Safir
This was simply amazing. This is full of cars and parts that I drooled about when I was a kid, some 60 plus years ago. This took me way back. The story about the cobra and being told about the 427 won't fit, I had known about. But what a refresher. Thanks guys for the great video, he just rattles off information like crazy, I just watched this with my jaw agape. Loved it.
Thanks for watching, Steve! More content coming soon 😎
Found you on TikTok. Was waiting for this video
Thanks for watching!
WOW - so knowledgable with a crisp clear memory of it all to boot !
Shame the young ricers in todays age wouldnt even know where to start to begin a memorable memory worthy of any praise or glory.
I had no idea that Heaven was in Canada and was so dusty, but I am convinced. A 427 cammer in a genuine Cobra. a REAL GT40, all under the custodianship of Cobra Rainman? St. Peter be jealous.
Check out part 2 Frank. Everything is explained.
I've said this many times from the first Ferrari Enzo supplied to Road and Track. Canadians have some of the most amazing car collections the world over.
29:00 : I can tell that, unlike the car, this guy is built for comfort NOT for speed! 😂I caN relate😘
Freakin Heck, that was way beyond awesome, and he's a WALKING ENCYCLOPEIDIA !!
@arkhsm haha he certainly is!
Thi man is pure gold kids should be beating his door down to learn from him.
that gt40 is Aerospace engineering
that dude was super interesting
thank you
@17aeast17 thanks for watching!
