The 1972 Chevrolet Malibu had a weak starter, bad front drum brakes, and rust problems around the windshield and back glass. With new battery, spark plugs and new starter the 350 V8 will start no matter how old it is. Good luck.

Cool van, nice tinker video, If you have any questions on it, you can ask me, I have a small collection of these van, On 64 thru 66 they was all 6cyl engine, 67 thru 70 a v8 was available, make sure you have the v8 doghouse thou, also all the vans up to 70 were drum brakes, 71 had disc, but there is a conversion kit for disc brakes, drum brake stuff is plentiful if needing parts, Just a note, 6 cylinder chevy didn't have a chain on timing, they were gear driven. Have fun with it, 😊

If you put the 23 coil springs (53-54) in the hood hinges, you won't need the prop...I'm assuming it has the originally installed 28 coil springs now. By 1961 Chevrolet was calling for the 23 coil springs across the board (49-54).

I owned one of these in 1977.. i purchased it in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.. i loved that car, and being British at the time did not understand what a rare gem i had. Thanks for the memory. Interestingly, mine had an inline 6 cylinder engine, was black with black interior, and had grandprix/USA metal badges on the front lower fender area. Anyone know more about these cars, id be interested in being ponted to a club or website.

I'm in a similar situation as my '46 Ford flatty has well of 300 thousand miles on it and has sat for quite a while. What solvent did you use to flush the engine of oil sludge? Great video and hope to see how the '47 turns out.

Good video. Could you post a follow up on the customers thoughts regarding ride quality before and after? On only 2 1/2 inch lift do you think the Rear leafs are worth it over blocks?
