I grew up in the U.K. in the seventies and I can tell you that the girls were absolutely crazy about this guy. I was working after school as a projectionist in our small town movie theater for pocket money and would play the single Maggie Mae over the PA during intermission. The girls would be dancing in the aisles!
Saw him on tour with Santana a few years ago, and he was just turning 70. I went to see Santana, who wasn't headlining for this tour, and I thought I would just skip the Stewart show because I wasn't a hard core fan, but we decided to stay for the first couple songs, and though he sounded a bit shaky at first, by the second song, he found his voice and was spectacular. It was one of the best shows ever, with an outstanding band and backup singers dressed to the nines. Stewart is a consummate showman.
I remember seeing Rod Stewart for the first time on the old "In Concert" series, they would broadcast the shows on Friday nights. They showed a lot of great forgotten concerts and performances "Tina Turner" is another stand-out I remember from that show.
Read more than one story from other musicians and actors and celebrities who were at a party with him and tried to pass him a joint, only for him to say: "I'd love to, but it really fucks with my voice"...One of those stories was from Tommy Chong. John Lennon had earlier turned down a similar pass because he "had this immigration thing" going on...
Rod used to be a grave digger back in the day starting out. 🤗 I love him, I grew up with him. Fist bump Rod. 👍🤗🤗🤗 Time to listen to 'Lost in you' for the ba-millionth time. 😁😁
Bring these clips coming, makes me happier.
I think "You wear it well " is a great song. Very similar to Maggie May.
One of the greatest live performers ever!

It's great his Dad had his back. So many young aspirants get no moral support from their parents.

My favorite of all -time Every Picture Tells a Story Don't It💗
Tonight I’m yours and Maggie may. You’re in my heart and many many songs.
The version on his Unplugged is a personal favorite of mine.
Decca also didn't sign The Beatles because they didn't like them.
Rod Stewart is a fuckkn legend
"I never really indulged in drugs too much".......... meanwhile, back at Ronnie's (▪︎)
His Unplugged was so goddamn good.

Howard does the best interviews man and I’ve always loved Rod Stewart’s music from way back✅
That would’ve been a shame. That’s an iconic song.

The music business is arbitrary, random, and strange.
Keith could bury everyone but then we buried Keith
Never focused on his nose until he mentioned it
Why do these celebrities wear sunglasses indoors?
They wreck their nose, don't they? Ouch! Hitting a little too close to home with that comment Howard...(Not his though, another unmentionable)
I was thinking the same thing. Artie put more than just a hole in his septum LOL
Every "catchy" song of the new millennium... "(Programmed music) OOH WEOOH WEOH!! (Whistling)"
I just miss the ack ack days
Why does he sound english?
I remember when that came out, sounded so horrible , then it grew on you like wild weeds.
Maggie Mae, not "May"
Baba booey
Maggie May is NOTTTTTTTTTT 💩
How does howard like playing second fiddle to Joe Rogan these day's? If only ETM was alive to ask.
Who does this guy think he is? Led Zepplin?
That song is garbage, I wish he hadn’t released it
Hopefully you're joking! It's an incredible song and performance!
Maggie May was a B side first it got more air play and was re-issued
