Headphone cables are a constant challenge. Not sure I'd use this setup for interviews BUT I could see this setup being really useful for b roll/run around setups but with analog wireless or an on camera mic. Thanks for posting 🙂
Not sure what type of Bluetooth airpods use. But Bluetooth headphones and transmitters that have BT5 and Qualcomm APTX have been out for a while and have very very low latency. If your setup doesn't have that it could help improve latency. It will be great when it is built into cameras and is reliable.
Good points. I was wondering if the latency would be better on other bluetooth headphones but haven't tested it. I know when I use AirPods with my Apple TV there isn't any latency (from memory!), so not sure if that's just some special Apple magic between the two devices that doesn't translate to the AirFly.
You could maybe eliminate some of the bulk around the power switch by monitoring the HDMI output of the monitor? Might be easier to rig up there with a 3.5mm extender cable?
Great idea but the latency would be a deal breaker for me. I’m using the DJI Mic at times which already has a delay - so this would just make it much worse.
I've had a bit of success re-purposing Rode Wireless Go - 'Out of Camera, into Wireless Go Transmitter' - 'Earphones plugged into Receiver'... You need to use wired earphones, but you can at least keep the cable and Receiver 'on your body' and walk away from the camera/not be attached... no Latency ... perhaps worth a video ;-)
@@YourStoryStudios can’t remember why I stopped doing it - it think it was the multiple ‘audio levels’ - not knowing it the ‘captured audio’ was clipping or the camera level output into the Rode Transmitter was clipping - but worth perfecting I think! Lovely videos - keep it up 💪👍
Love the dual benefit of charging the device and eliminating the sag with the usb cable.
Keep the fx6 videos coming, we need them 😄
Appreciate the comment! I've been watching your vlogs and really enjoying them 👍
@@YourStoryStudios That’s so crazy to hear bc I watched every single one of your before I got my fx6. Small world.
@@davidmorefield haha! Hope the videos were helpful.
I think Sony COULD use firmware update to bring audio monitoring.
Just my thinking but doesn’t thease cameras already have bluetooth so?
They do have bluetooth! Not sure what the barrier is stopping us from being able to use bluetooth headphones directly from the camera.

Epic review. I’d never heard of this, thanks for bringing it to our attention
Thanks for watching! I'll probably do a more thorough review in a few months after proper useage.
I was thing about using the airfly with cameras but ultimately decided it wasn’t worth it. Great video!
I'll see if I keep using it and do an update in a few months. Thanks for watching!

Some people can probably handle the latency, but a deal breaker for some!

Thanks for sharing that solution. That could be quite helpful!

$109 for the air fly??? Yeaa I’ll pass. Thanks for sharing though.

You don't have to waste so much time describing your problems with a cord. We get it.
Thanks for the comment Jimmy!
