Loved Colin's footage! Specifically the sunrise silhouette stuff towards the end when you were having your morning cuppa. The music choice helped too I reckon. Bravo! 👌🏼
IF the goal was to make me smile, chuckle and even laugh out loud a bit, well, YOU DID. The changing "room" was a hoot and the "landing" of the paddleboard experiment by imitating a seal was excellent. Thank you for the view, entertainment, and even experiment showing of the paddleboard tent camping. I give it 2 👍👍
Another excellent trip and another excellent piece of footage for people of the future to see just what Northern Irish adult males were like in the year 2023 😂Excellent stuff!
It’s a well known secret, I’d say everyone in the local village knows where it is but few beyond that. Still enough people for there to be a few to leave a mess though
Love it Stephen, I really enjoyed that video. The paddle boarding is out of my comfort zone but you have it mastered 👌. A great camera man as well 👏 👏.
I have a red board from Troggs Portrush. Brilliant board , so versatile and compact conpared to a hard board. Must try the Glens sometime. Can highly recommend Trannish island Fermanagh for your next video staying in the bothy on Trannish. Fantastic experience.
Colin did a great job, this was hilarious, I think those green things were freshwater bubble algae because we have them here in our local lake, and I don't think that this was quite what the paddleboard company had in mind but I hope that they loved it anyway because I sure did!😂❤
That was a really good video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I would only camp on the board if it was safely on land lol. And with all the gear you are hauling you almost look like a human tuc tuc
Holy cow, that intro frame was something else! I'm straight flabbergasted at the beauty of the scenery. Keeping places like that secret is the only way you can usually keep it as a spot to go to for a generation of few without it being ruined with rubbish & other stuff, which is quite unfortunate...
06:37 "This is one of the more pathetic things I've seen in my life" lol, hilarious, great fun video, really enjoyed that, some beautiful scenery of our wee country, and I know where that is haha.
Nice work! Loved the morning coffee shots ;-) As a thought - what if you flipped the paddleboard upside down and slept on the bottom? Then you wouldn't have to deal with all the bumps and straps... I'm assuming the bottom is smooth. Great work as a team ;-)
Thanks! I’d thought about flipping it but the top is better for a few reasons. 1. Connection points for tent on top. 2. Valve for changing pressure on top. 3. Top has a thin layer of foam which will trap a bit more heat.
Lovely spot. Not sure about in the tent, on the water though! 😂 Those morning coffee shots were fantastic. Was that your work or your glamourous assistant Colin's? 😅 👌
I've camped there a few times - lovely spot but I'll say no more! Some of that stuff in the water looked like the green algae that's been making the news in NI recently.
Amazing area up there. Loads more to explore. I’ve explored more of the other side. Don’t think that was blue green algae, it tends to grow more in places with potential for farm runoff or sewage. This is too high for that. Apparently it’s actually a type of animal!
Whilst I know this was just a bit of fun, I’d argue it was more dangerous to wear the life jacket. Could have pushed you up while the bivvy pulled you down or if the board flipped upside down you could have been trapped underneath.
@@Carftymk so if it's 9mins it doesn't count? It's a tricky one!! I think it counts as camping if you hoped to sleep 🤣 I've spent all night on a mountain side in winter photographing stars, that definitely wasn't camping
Brilliant Steve. Very entertaining and superb filming mate. Makes me want to rush out and ‘NOT’ buy a paddleboard 😂
Thanks Paul. Haha you know you want to 😛 better vantage point than that kayak you were out in
For someone who doesn’t sleep well, I found this even more hilarious than it should be. Nothing like challenging yourself! 😂
If it hadn’t been for those crazy birds squawking all night I would have slept much better. Slept like a log when I got home! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Ridiculously brilliant. Didn't disappoint. Risk assessors worldwide in meltdown ... Job done 😊
Haha, I’d argue with the precautions we took that this was safer than most of my solo hikes and runs.
Loved Colin's footage! Specifically the sunrise silhouette stuff towards the end when you were having your morning cuppa. The music choice helped too I reckon. Bravo! 👌🏼
Was a great sunrise.
Really enjoyed that Stephen. Loads of fun and editing was top notch. Loved the stove at sunset shots. Beautiful.
Thanks Ben! 🙂

Binge watching your videos back to back- and adding comments for the algorithm~! 🌻👍 Keep up the great content!
Thansk!
Beautiful cinematography, especially the coffee in the sunrise shot!
Amazing idea Stephen, something I thought about trying myself for awhile. Fun Video!
Thanks! Hopefully you mean sleeping on the board on land and not in water! 😂
Your friends and family are all hilarious. Thank you for another great video.
Thanks Emily! 😁
just bluddy brilliant! The laugh I really needed today!!!
Thanks! 😁
Stephen I love how wacky you are with your videos
Another fun and entertaining video!
I love your morning sequence with the edit cuts to the music.
Brilliant!
Thanks! 🙂

I dread what theories the future people are going to come up with after this 😂😂
4:50 thats cool...Woe beautiful! Place sir😮❤
Thanks Ajay
@@StephenJReid you are welcome sir
😅 gold!
Oh you're giving me belly laughs and wanderlust!
Was not the most comfortable night 😂
@StephenJReid thank you for trialling it so we don't have to 😅
Brilliant video. Laughed the whole time.
Looks great, craic 😊
The sunrise footage is, just, magic 🌅
Very good video, well shot, the paddle board looks class, pity about the bothy, obviously not too secret
It’s a well known secret, I’d say everyone in the local village knows where it is but few beyond that. Still enough people for there to be a few to leave a mess though
There is wiser eating grass as we would say, very entertaining Stephen :-)
Haha thanks! Glad to finally get it published, been in the edit since June!
very creative! love it
Thanks! 😁
Brilliant Stephen. 🤣
Thanks Wallace 😄
Highly entertaining as usual Steven. Got to hand it to you - you do give anything a go 😂😂.
Gotta test things for myself😂
👍 mad as box of frogs. Great fun
I would like to see an actual box of frogs 🤣
Love it Stephen, I really enjoyed that video. The paddle boarding is out of my comfort zone but you have it mastered 👌. A great camera man as well 👏 👏.
Thanks Geoff. Took me a while to get used to it and only really on flat water so far. Glad you enjoyed the video! 🙂
Entertaining as usual 😀
Thanks Swampy 🙂
What a place. Marvellous. ...The paddleboard camping idea cracked me up.😂

Just magical thanks ⛺💯👍
if the risk of drowning wasn't so great that would be my new favourite way of camping!
So relaxing lying on a board on the water, but yes, would be incredibly risky to actually try and sleep like that!
Excellent. You need a TV show. 😂
Hah thaks
Brilliant😊😊😊😊
Thank you! 🙂

Yeah definitely not safe attempting to camp on the water! Human tuc tuc 😂

We say it worked!
Well I stayed, mostly dry and afloat 😂
I know that wee lake, my lips are sealed 🤫 you do have some crazy ass ideas sometimes lol
Original plan was just to camp on the board, but then I wondered how well it would float 😂
@@StephenJReid my first thought was, how are you going to get in and out while it’s on the water without capsizing
Entertaining video Stephen, all the lakes up in that area are just as serene.
Thanks! I’ve been to the other closest one to this with the tin shack. Fascinating area up there. Looks like a mini Mournes in places

The sunrise was just something! ☀️
Can I ask where you got your tent and what it is called?
Nicely done. Lovely material and fantastic shots.
Thanks! 🙂
man down ! or seal... you decide. Great video Stephen
Sooo pretty
The Change Robe Ballet is a winner. Bring that to a stage in the next Edinburgh Fringe. 🤣👏🎭
Who carried the huge pump? Looks like it's located in the NE Glens of Antrim. Great video.
Pump rolls up inside the paddleboard
Crazy 🤪
🤪
So funny ❤
😁
I absolutely adore the place, it looks like Howls hideout in Howls Moving Castle!
Strangely enough, I have wanted to do this myself years ago 😂

I tried to camp while skydiving, but it didn't work out as intended. I'm writing this from the hospital.
Your cracked man
Held together with duct tape and superglue
Feels like your zombie apocalypse plans need as little refinement. 😂
You should try that water camping in Florida!
Did you deflate the paddleboard slightly for more nightly comfort?
Yup! A lot. Pressure went from 20PSI to probably less than 1
Lovely spot. Not sure about in the tent, on the water though! 😂
Those morning coffee shots were fantastic. Was that your work or your glamourous assistant Colin's?
😅 👌
Thanks! 🙂 I think Colin was still asleep at that point in the morning. Love me a silhouette
Can't decide if you're an eeejit or a genius Reid, but maybe sleeping out on the lough could be the ultimate midgy defence.
Ahaha but they can fly! 🙈
you should go to wallaby island
Where is that?

There's the makings of Broken Back Mountain 2 at the end! - "Is this paddle board big enough for the two of us?"
🙈

The music is great. I usually have to turn the sound off because the music on most UA-cam videos is horrible.
Whilst I know this was just a bit of fun, I’d argue it was more dangerous to wear the life jacket. Could have pushed you up while the bivvy pulled you down or if the board flipped upside down you could have been trapped underneath.
Well thankfully didn’t get to test it. Although the water was about 1-2ft deep where I was
Doing stupid things safely. Nice one, Stephen. 🤣☠
Best way to do them 😛
I did enjoy but yeah, absolute trash Colin! ;) I also watched your infamous midge mayhem for the first time on channel 5 a couple weeks back! 👍
Haha Colin’s getting fired 😂 I keep missing that show when it’s actually on TV. Least money I’ve made from a video probably seen by the most people 😂😂
