Nice work on the tutorial. I haven’t put out a map since FS17 and was looking for a quick refresh on GE. This really hit the spot. Will there be additional tutorials? I’d really like to find something on using scripts to ease some of the repetitive tasks such as placing trees
Hey dude iv learnt the basics of using giants editor and have started with a map template just flat no errors etc. Is there a video I can jump to to start building from this template I'm new to giants editor but not new to this sort of stuff 😁
I do recommend do to the multi click on shift then go into that settings and turn it of an you'll never have that shorcut again if you don't reinstall windows
Great walkthrough, in no way was it tooo long. If you think that it gets too long break down the chapters (may not have been a UA-cam function back when you posted, apologies if not) and always remember people have the ability to jump and skip, even watch in faster speeds. Personally I'd rather you cover more info than skim something out of fear for length. May later move on to the rest of the videos, at the moment though it's a tough time to sell the wife on a Patreon subscription for something I just want to futz with (not intended to diminish your time and work, much less the value of it). Thanks for the hard work!
Hi, do you have any tips for a machine that will run Giants editor? I can't find specs for it, and pc / laptop specs confuse the crud out of me anyway :/ Seems minimum game specs are quite low? The minimum intel processor for FS22 is quite old? Would a laptop with integrated graphics run it?
This came up looking in to map making and modding Emergency 4. This software is extremely similar to Mud Runners map editor the way it seems to work. I assume it's for the game "Giants"?
Hi great Video, I am using GE 8.2.2, whilst moving around Map using W and R Click, I suddenly had a load of coloured Squares come up, can't work out how to remove, reloaded Map and it Happened again. Do you have a link for map you are using. Thanks
hey MRG you might be able to help me with a problem im having. when i load the map (Seneca County) on giants editor to move a grain bin and trees, i load the new map in my game on a new save and the grain bin is still in the original spot but the trees are moved where i moved them. so y is the grain bin not moving even tho its moved on giants editor
you hae to go into an xml file and changed the coord's for the item and match them to them map, the placed item in the editor will help you get the coords you need. I think its in the placeables.xml file.
How do you open your save game file though? I've followed your instructions, and it opens the default map as I had just started. It doesn't include any buildings or placements I've put into the game and saved.
Why is it that every video ive tried finding nobody shows a REAL way to start a map (For Example) Blank Flat Map with just your Shop, Animal, Buy/Sell Triggers and the most important part HOW TO Setup the map to be 2km/4km/8km/16km as your Base Starting Point. Everyone Loads up AlpineMap or mapUS strip it down but its stripped down to 2km ONLY and nobody shows how to make it 4km/8km/16km.
i wod like to mod for fs 19 and make some grate mods for privet use but if i hit 100 subs on you tube i will reelis my mods for all players of farmig simulator but for [pc only] so i will start at cristmass from audi bell

Just click on the object and press the delete key on your keyboard, or locate it in the item list and press delete.

its the right click if you right click its selecting "Wireframe" rightclick and change to shaded, had the same problem when zooming around on 8.2.2
would like to do this but giants isn't letting me register with their site.

"whatever that error is"... its actually not an error. it is a dialog asking if you want to use Sticky Keys. it can be disabled in windows settings.
So if you press shift 5 times and get the stickey keys pop up click settings and turn it off.

Wait what? Are you talking about playing the default map, placing down objects and saving, then trying to open that in GE?
You're editing the map, not a save game. Why would the map come with the save game's items?

The editior completely crashes and closes out every time I try to open the map. Any idea how to fix
Sometimes it will do that if you have the editor installed to the wrong drive, try reinstalling it to a different drive
Make sure you click "Open Mod" and not just Open

I REALLY WANT A PC SO BAD, I honestly feel like giants editor is perfectly designed for me, i was worried about scripts but i think i got it down.
They really need to make the editor more user friendly.
