Thanks for this, i've just started my own playthrough on Court's Farms and i've picked a house with garden to move into. Using your videos i've used GE for the first time, deleted the house and garages i couldn't access and i've found the hidden collisions and removed these as well!

One thing is for sure though, it has certainly given me a renewed appreciation of the amount of work and detail that Oxy goes into and the intricacy that all Moders have to get into. Kudos to them all.
I am never likely to alter a map, it's frankly more effort than I'm willing to put in. BUT hats off to you Scroft! This is a fascinating insight to the amount of time and passion you put into your roleplay videos. I'm even more impressed with your series 🚜🚜
until you land scape and make a mess where you can't live with it , i just need to learn how to remove some baked in roads

Have you ever used prefabs on the mod hub to add add buildings in ? Or do you just add them in game with what’s available.
Be interesting to see also if any map makers would hold a competition of private edits that they would then allow people to share through the map makers own Facebook /discord etc

When you click on an item to delete some of these items are child transform groups with in the parent transform. It’s good to keep an eye on scenegraph because more often than not if you delete the parent transform group it will remove those hidden collisions…
That is amazing. I'll just stick with playing what the game gives me. I'm not smart enough to do that. What really took the fun out of Farming Simulator was when they removed Extended Placeable mod that allowed a player to place anything right next to another object. I use to be able to place small buildings inside my animal pens. Was able to butt buildings up against on another. Losing that mod crippled my gameplay. I keep hoping they put it back in. Looks like I have plenty of time to watch more videos. My wife and I have covid. Thank you for the video.
Hope you and your wife are okay and get better soon. Look for a mod called place anywhere. It might be just what your looking for 👍👍

This feature is still in game, when in the build menu, look in the top left help menu, should say something like freeroam or something like that, I know on PC the key to hit is V to turn it on and off... Be careful though, would suggest, snap build and saving just before placing...
Also if you highlight the main category and the collisions show up just click on the collision and hit delete
I really appreciate everybody’s effort making or changing a map because Im also planning to make some changes. But. Nobody shows the whole process in details. I mean how to save the changes to see it in the game. I tried once but nothing happened. And any further infos e.g do we need to start new same games after these and those changes.. etc..

I want to do my own custom version calmsden Farm I cannot find a map hedge boundary it seems to be hidden by do I find them?
I’d love to make a couple of tweaks to Calmasden, but I use a Mac so can’t get GE
I have this same problem! limited to just editing XML files
It's a shame it can't be done on mac

hi, is it hard to remove the borders around the map? i really like the map pannsylvania but he only used 60% of the map and i want to extend it
Anyone know if the map would still work for crossplay players afterwards?

I did everything you said but I still can not remove the gate and the building gates. I mean I removed the buldings on the farm, but when I start the game there are still gates in the place of the building. I can not find them in the GE and I think they have no collision. How could I get rid off them? Great video, btw.
Hey scroft, love your videos and content keep it going. Just one question, why when you've edited a map why does it tell you to update the map... driving me nuts any help
Thanks Patrick. It's because the game thinks it's not up to date now as it's been changed. You can stop this by changing the mod name in the mod description after you've edited the mod or map
Anytime I make a change to calmsden in ge it bumps the file size to over 600kb and then when I start my game up it gets stuck on 85% loaded when I’m the game does anyone know how to fix this problem??
How can i remove a field and then make a forest area of it, do i have to find the filed number and just delete it or is it possible to change foliage?
I believe you can use the Easy Development Controls Mod to accomplish this on an existing field on a map. Or simply plant saplings in the field, but of course that is gameplay and if you want to change the ground level, use in game construction.
I flattened a map, now my windrows(swaths) are hard to see. I think they might be under the terrain. How do I fix this?

all i want is a nice views and relaxing game play ,
why map makers bake in side roads roads , forcing you to build in the middle of a field , instead of beside the road is beyond me

You can remove them ingame. Open the construction menu and remove the item
@@Scroft how stupid am I !!!! I spent hours looking in the editor for the secret missing bits ha ha ha. By the way thanks for the video it saved a major difficulty I was having with that dam caravan could delete but it always left something behind and was having a devil of a job trying to find what it was. If it is this hard to get rid of stuff it must be a nightmare building a actual map. All credit to map builders. Anyway many thanks for the reply and keep up the great work with the farm hand, its like a tv show wait for the next episode all week ha ha
