@@markc7889 Thank you, Mark. Like you said, it looks good. I’ve only put about 5k miles on the truck in 3 years, so I did not clean it as it does not affect the engine’s performance directly, just the pump.
@@MaximumDIYGarageI checked the temperature in the valley where the Uni filter is located. It is over 150F. I just wonder if the filter can tolerate this high temperature.
@@MaximumDIYGarageI have got the same filter and will try to take the intake manifold out and put the filter by following your instructions in the video. Thanks
I have a 2003 and believe I’m having the same exact issue! All same part numbers for 2003? I’m going to change intake manifold gaskets as well since I’ll be in there
Yep, should be the same part# for 2003-2009, however check with your local Toyota/Lexus parts dept by giving them your vin# so they can verify. 2003-2004 were non-VVTI engines, so there is a chance that the intake may be slightly different
Right! Don’t go to the service department, just the parts desk. They don’t care about what’s wrong with the car, they’ll gladly sell you the parts you need though. If no luck, call the e other Lexus parts dept
Always nice to be able to get the work done yourself and save alot of money rather then taking it to the dealer... that would alot lol
Thank you, Stan!!! Yes, this would probably be a $1,000 repair at Lexus
Another great video for GX 470. For the SAIS filter, still looks good after 3 years. Does it need cleaning now after 3 years?

@markc7889 thanks for checking the temp! Apparently mine has survived 3 years in the valley and has not melted or gotten deformed.

You’re welcome, sir! Don’t forget to replace the spark plugs while you’re at it if you’re near that time frame/mileage

They are acting weird about parts. They want to give me a diagnosis for $200 when I’m pretty sure I’ve pinpointed the culprit

Try online search. Here’s what I found: parts.lexus.com/p/Lexus_2003_GX-470/GASKET/63047124/1634150020.html
Did this job take you over a day to complete?
Oh yeah - that one is hidden well.
Starter might be a good idea while you're in there.
