Bomberman contains 50 levels in an attempt to get the titular character to the service so he can become a human. I purposely let the time run out in the first level to show you that it's not a death sentence as you can kill all of the Pontans and exit as normal. Towards the end I get the Flamepass and that allows me to be immune to flames just like in the bonus stage. -

This was my dad's favorite game. He started playing this when he was 52. He plays the game while lying on the couch, a real OG player and can play 2-days straight during the weekend. He likes Tom and Jerry too!. We missed him!
Yeah this was one of my dad's favorites too. Just hearing the music brings me back to being 8 years old. I remember being in bed and hearing my dad upset downstairs and I go downstairs and he's playing mario bros close to the end where you have to jump on the tiny columns over lava lol. We also had a best time competition in f zero in death wind I used the yellow car the worst part is he'd brag about beating me with a pink car....
That was the magic of nes and consoles with simplistic mechanics. You used to come home and spend your free time playing 8 bit games with the family ! Now everything evolved and is much more complex (speaking about of pc and this new 3d games played across the internet/multiplayer) , i can't see the relation of the father and son experiencing what we used to experience together back in the days in the front of tv in the same room . We used to just gather and lay on the couch to play this games endlessly together with friends, neighbors and family, in addition to having fun at parties back in 80's-90's. Such a fun times !

@@mariandumitrache824 I mean there are parents who still bond with their children over games. I get your point about NES games being much more accessible to older and younger people making it much easier but bonding over games isn't a'90's and 80's only'thing

This is the only NES game that I know of that actually gets EASIER the further you get.
Music is memorable, short, and not annoying. Some may call it: "genius".

I remember when I was a little kid, my father was playing this and he was around level 40ish if I'm not mistaken. I accidentally tripped over the power cable and unplugged it, resetting his progress. I feel bad to this day about it, but he doesn't remember the event lol.
this almost happened to me and my mom too, she was on level +40 and i decided to play for once but luckily i didn't die cause i didn't even know how to play
my father loves playing this game more then me....unfortunately he passed away 5 years before.
Remebering the day, i had not an memorycard for N64 Shadowman. Collected 8 of the 10 souls and my mother unplugged the console "to save energy".... my hole progress from 3 Weeks is gone away.... after that i buyed a memeroy card :-)

I love how as soon as you got the fire immunity power up you didn't care about blowing up the door.
I remember this way back together with lunar ball, ghost and goblins, solomon's key, contra and load runner.
I personally call the enemy (by stage progress) a balloon, a blue onion, a red water jug, mr. Smiley face, fast bear, literal water, red ghost and unpredictable coins.
I just hate it when those aggressive shiny coins spawning out. 😑
When I saw this vid, that's immediately what came to mind. I had such a fear for them. But seeing them now, they are less dramatic than when I was a kid, almost disappointed that they didn't appear as I thought they would.
Finding a power was a moment of pure happiness 🙂

Back in 2013, my parents bought me a ripoff version of PSP which was called PXP, which most of the games that I played is from a NES console mostly 80s games that took my childhood (I was 9 years old that time). And to mention Bomberman was my most played game out of 100 selection of games, and to describe it, this is also my raging game, it is just hard how can you complete even 1 stage at a time with most of these creatures has a different ability at a time as you reach higher stages, but unfortunately I didn’t fully completed the game, I just reached 23 stages, not even a half of stages! But when my mother came to borrow my PXP that time, I was amazed how she fully completed the whole entire game! I was even shocked how her HPs increased as she reached higher stages! It was even amazing when I realized that the character in Bomberman was a villain clones in a Lone Runner game! This game is absolutely phenomenal!

This Game was brought Back as Part of the CLASSIC NES SERIES on the Game Boy Advance. BTW, Bomberman is One of my Personal Favorites.

Near the end bomber mans appears to be invincible. He can walk through bricks, immune to bombs and appears to be immune to enemies.
This was my mom and dad's favourite game, and they used to play really well.

I remember, when I was a kid, I was waiting for the bomb to explode after getting the denonator powerup. After waiting for like 1 or 2 minutes, I reset the game and avoid getting that powerup. XD

It's one of those games that actually get easier the farther you get in it. If you can manage to get all your power ups without dying, you're basically invincible.

anyone else get the bug where you stay on the bomb while holding the bomb button and then you get some sort of shield with infinite bombs blowing up around you when the bomb goes off, but as soon as you release the bomb button, you die?
