I'm amazed that he managed to swing a spot on QVC. He's going to have all the little old ladies buying his cookbook so they can reminisce about their grandma's recipes. And then you've got David, who is clearly a timeless and immortal being, casually identifying baked goods that haven't been prevalent since the 60's.
@@Pea_Green Also try making seven flavor pound cake using the cold oven cake as the base. It just needs you to add a quarter teaspoon each of rum, butter, coconut, almond, vanilla, lemon, and pineapple extracts. You can also swap the almond extract for orange extract if you want it to be more fruity. It's one of my favorite cakes that 100% does not need a glaze and my old boss used to make an amazing seven flavor pound cake. She refused to give me the recipe, but it turns out to be relatively simple except for how many flavorings it calls for. You won't regret making it (except for the whole, 6 extra bottles of flavor extracts cluttering your cabinet).
More like a really smart publisher. I could show 10 different publishers this and most of them would probably not think about putting him on ITKWD @@FiliaNoctis
I just got my copy... Its a wonderful book and I intend to make a few of the recipes within Dylan's tome in the near future... As you read his descriptions of each baked good you can hear his voice in your head... and yes.. some lines from his videos do make it into the book.. "Demon Quiche!!!" al la Pickle Cheesecake had me chuckling to myself... Enjoy!
You're flipping through the book and I remember Dylan trying most of those and often being halfway angry and totally confused that they actually worked.
Dylan has been putting in work promoting his book and judging by his spot on the New York Times Bestseller list all the hard work is paying off. All the success to him, he's a good EGG-IE!
To have all those amazing goodies made and on display is surely an endorsement for Dylan’s skill. Having him there in person is the real icing on this cake.
i'm late to the occasion, but i'm grateful for how down to earth and gentle he stays in these presentations. And i'm very happy to have it here in europe finally as well, even with converted measurements from the get-go.
The one thing I really love abt Dylan is his voice (not in a perverted way or anything) he’s got one of those radio show voices that I could listen too and even fall asleep too!
Dylan is literally living a little childhood memory of mine. I flew back to watching In The Kitchen With David on the couch with my mom. And seeing someone who I actually thoroughly love watching on my UA-cam feed be on here promoting his first cookbook is so cool on such a personal level! Dylan truly deserves it! Such a pure and wonderful human being! Truly amazing! Love love love!
I've had my book on pre-order for MONTHS now and I've been following Dylan for a few years now!!! He is one of my absolute FAVORITE content creators on any app and I'm SOO excited to get his cookbook tomorrow!!!!! I also have a signed copy of your cookbook David and I'm just thrilled to add another amazing cookbook to my collection!
I loved his "shorts" so much that when he mentioned he had this book coming out, I pre-ordered it as fast as I could! His book does not disappoint and is as entertaining as his "shorts" are. I can't wait to see what he does next! I give him, his "shorts", and "Baking Yesteryear" 👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳 !😁
My Cousin has the Book. But I been trying to make the Potato Chip Cookies from 1976.. I will admit I have eaten half of my Ingredients..... before they even got to the mixing bowl.
So happy to see Dylan on such a large platform as QVC to launch his book! His segment with David Venable went great. I hope he has amazing success with the book. 😊
I came home from work to see that Dylan Hollis' cookbook, Baking Yesteryear had arrived. The cookbook has recipies from his videos including the viral Peanut Butter bread. The cookbook is generous with photos of the food and of Mr. Hollis. I am looking forward to having some fun preparing and serving the yesteryear recipes. Thank you Mr. Hollis for all the work you put into your videos and this wonderful cookbook.
Hi Dylan You did so great!!! Looking forward to the book tour starting tomorrow. Hope you are doing well and having fun. The story of how baking Yesteryear came to be is interesting. I thought it took 13 months not 3 years.
Hot cross buns are a very British thing. We have them here in Canada at Easter as well; lovely with tea. Adore B. Dyan Hollis, he's one of my favorite anachronisms. Hopefully all this doesn't burn him out.
I'm so happy for him! Really cool to hear that 800 sold during the segment, I wonder how many sold after it ended 😁 I love imagining the little grandmas that saw some recipe and said "I haven't thought about that recipe in ages! I want that book so I can remember how to bake it!"🥰
I preordered the book months ago, and now it's finally here. I really think I need to get a copy for my son- who loves to cook and bake too. Dylan's enthusiasm is very catchy!
Awesome. Simply awesome. Love watching Dylan, his videos make me smile even at times when smiles are hard to come by. His energy and sense of fun are contagious. Bought the book, glad I did. Showed mom, she's having fun with it too! We might just be tasting yesteryear one of these days, for family dinner or thanksgiving or christmas... or just a little special treat on a weekday, even. Best wishes to you both!
This is really great for you! How wonderful to be on QVC. You deserve all the success in the world for all the smiles and laughter you've brought to us on UA-cam.
Best wishes, from NewZealand. Go Dylan! Your book looks fabulous (the spaghetti-O jello ring notwithstanding), & the clean crispness of the photography is outstanding. The modern/yesteryear treatment is very pretty. I want to give it to my sons, who will doubtless find lots of treats they can manage to throw together under your careful tutelage.
Nice to see Dylan conducting himself so nice and calm. His behavior on his videos can get over the top. I wish him much success. May buy these for Christmas gifts.
Way to implicitly shame someone for just harmlessly being themselves. Nobody's saying you have to like his usual energy, but the kind thing to do is to just accept that your tastes don't define how the world should be, and refrain from dealing backhanded compliments.
I had no idea Dylan was on QVC for this! He deserves all the recognition, his enthusiasm and humor and attention to detail. I just love this for him!
Me too!! 😊
Love his Tik Tok
Same here.

And then you've got David, who is clearly a timeless and immortal being, casually identifying baked goods that haven't been prevalent since the 60's.
This old lady and this old lady's daughter too! We love him. I can't wait to try the cold oven cake.

He must have a good publisher to swing this and many other interviews I have seen him in.

His publisher is penguin house. Theyre pulling out the stops
I absolutely love his videos. He is not afraid to try the odd recipes either. I can't wait to get my hands on his cookbook!
I absolutely love how hard Dylan had to work to say "cinnamon" *correctly* for once 😂
I just got my copy... Its a wonderful book and I intend to make a few of the recipes within Dylan's tome in the near future... As you read his descriptions of each baked good you can hear his voice in your head... and yes.. some lines from his videos do make it into the book.. Given his comments and the look on his face when he eats them, he's 100% afraid.
Not Naked and Afraid, but still.
He just doesn't let that stop him.
You're flipping through the book and I remember Dylan trying most of those and often being halfway angry and totally confused that they actually worked.
"wait, why is this GOOD?!?!" 😂❤
✨What alchemy is this???✨
“THERES A CAN OF BEANS IN YOU!”
“It’s incredible. And I’m mad about it.”

[detailed description of why it’s great]
Dylan has been putting in work promoting his book and judging by his spot on the New York Times Bestseller list all the hard work is paying off. All the success to him, he's a good EGG-IE!
Laughing at myself here. In describing the hot cross buns, when he said 'cinnamon' I literally screamed CIMANIN!!!
To have all those amazing goodies made and on display is surely an endorsement for Dylan’s skill. Having him there in person is the real icing on this cake.
I love his enthusiasm for absolutely every dish they talked about. Even the spaghetti-o ring!
genuinely contagious happiness
He needed a hug afterwards
We need more people like Dylan. He's from Bermuda!
i'm late to the occasion, but i'm grateful for how down to earth and gentle he stays in these presentations. And i'm very happy to have it here in europe finally as well, even with converted measurements from the get-go.
DC was the first stop on his book tour and he’s charming, funny and delightful in every possible way.
I'm a jelly hater. No stop in Detroit. (pouty face)
He's adorable. Enthusiastic and entertaining.
I love that he even put some of the "bad" recipes in the book for us to try
Congrats to Dylan on this. He’s worked his butt off.
Is THAT what happened? I’m sorry that happened to him.
literally
What a good soul.
Dylan thank you for shining your sunshine! You make my grey days so bright! Xx
1:45 - I'd like to imagine that the emphasis on "cinnamon" was to make sure that he pronounced it correctly lol
Yeah, noticed that too :D
When your mind flashes on a video for most of the recipes, you KNOW you're a fan!!!
WE LOVE DYLAN! WE LOVE DAVID! I listen to QVC around the world! German, etc
I'm glad Dylan is getting recognition for his book. A lot of taste-testing went into it. ❤
The one thing I really love abt Dylan is his voice (not in a perverted way or anything) he’s got one of those radio show voices that I could listen too and even fall asleep too!
Dylan is friggin hilarious! Watching his videos is literally a family event.
Love this man. I’m so happy for him. He deserves so much for his hard wrk. He brings a lot of joy to so many of us. God bless him.
Congratulations Dylan!!! I swear, I didn't think you could be any more adorable but here you are! Lovely and lively interview!
Dylan is literally living a little childhood memory of mine. I flew back to watching In The Kitchen With David on the couch with my mom. YELLING CHEERING AND GRINNING! CONGRATULATIONS DYLAN AAAAA!!! 💖💖💖👏👏🎉🎊
Love him so much! An absolute joy to watch.
Dylan, congrats, you made it to QVC!

I had a countdown. I was so happy to get mine
Dylan is amazing I have baked some recipes from his tiktok and they were amazing. The lad has good taste and a great sense of humour ❤
Spudnuts are a staple at the fair in my hometown. I don't get them as much as I did growing up. But I did get one this year. Such nostalgia.
Love me some Dylan.
Good luck to you, Dylan, on this cookbook. You are an amazing character and everything you do is for fun and NOW! You deserve your successes!
YAY! "and 800 are out the door". GO DYLAN! (I bought mine! )
Dylan's videos are the best. They are a joy to watch.
He's so lovely and has a great sense of humour 🙂
If the Dylan we see on camera is the genuine Dylan, then his boyfriend is one of the luckiest men alive.
Last I heard he’s still single. No, I don’t know why either.
Congratulations Dylan, we enjoy your passion tremendously!
🥰 I love the old church cookbooks, this book should be great!
I bought this book and I absolutely love this, Dylan is wonderful❤
Got my copy! My family LOVES so many of these, and we have been doing a lot of the recipes as he put them into TikTok.
Got my book on Kindle
I adore this man. He makes me so happy with just these short little videos
The recipes are good, but it's a personality that carries it
My Cousin has the Book. But I been trying to make the Potato Chip Cookies from 1976.. I will admit I have eaten half of my Ingredients..... before they even got to the mixing bowl.
I love that he's said "CIMMINIM" for so long, he has to put effort into saying "Cinnamon." 😂
David and Dylan-name a more iconic duo! Can’t wait to make some of these retro treats in my own kitchen.
Wish you would have allowed him to play something on the piano....that would have been the sweetest treat of the day! Love this guy!
My daughter git me this cookbook for mothers day. I love it!!
Dylan is a treasure ❤
Our book just arrived, and it is wonderful. We highly recommend it, along with his videos.
So happy to see Dylan on such a large platform as QVC to launch his book! His segment with David Venable went great. I hope he has amazing success with the book. 😊

Omg I just found him on yt. Wow. Can’t wait to use
I've got my copy. I love the recipe intros, especially the introductions to the ones in the hall of shame the 'Worst of the Worst'.
Love his videos and remember many childhood recipes!
Congrats Dylan!
I love this cookbook!! I love his videos so much I pre-ordered it months ago. Just got it yesterday. I can't wait to try a recipe. Now to pick one😊
Beautiful book Dylan, been looking through mine all day.
