The older you get the more these lyrics really hit hard. Beautiful song.
You are not kidding! Wow!
This used to be the theme song for Kodak film and camera commercials in the 70's.
Thanks for that information. I was racking my brain to remember what commercial this was used in. It was a perfect choice.
was it a US commercial? I don’t remember it if it was aired in the UK
@@Trish-ql9kz I live in the US, so they used it for a few years here.
@@lamusiclover2264 I thought so.. I’m sure it was never played over here in England
Yes, I remember the commercial well! When there were good commercials.
This is such a beautiful song! Now in my 6th decade of life, it has even more meaning. The years go by so fast, making the memories even more precious. ❤
Me too!❤
I danced to this song with my father at my wedding. Tear jerker for me. Love and miss you Daddy!
Paul Anka:
“YOU’RE HAVING MY BABY”
big hit from the 1970s!!
BEAUTIFUL!!
I personally find the lyrics of that song quite creepy
@@Trish-ql9kz me too....
I like it too ... albeit controversial at the time.
Just thinking of that one👍
I remember that one growing up! Was such a bold song I thought at the time lol I love his voice, and I hope they can also explore his duet "Hold Me Til The Morning Comes", with Peter Cetera. Such a beautiful and heartfelt song. 🥰
It was written for a Kodak commercial
After he sang the jingle
Paul decided to release it as a single
It was a hit
He included it in his live performances too
Ha ha, even his throwaway songs were hits, how talented can one person be. ✌️
I remember that commercial. Good song.
We might have to explain to these young'uns what Kodak is, lol
@@richstrobel Me too! I was just a little kid in the 70's, and hearing this song again after all these years makes me yearn for my childhood.
I was born in 74 so I just missed out on that commercial. I wish I could go back in time.
This is the song that i choose to dedicate to my young Daughter that passed away so long ago in 88...she was 13. Gather moments while you may, collect the dreams you dream today, REMEMBER...cherish every moment with your children, wife, husband, and the many friends and family you may have. God Bless
Omg soo sorry for the loss of your precious child 🙏🙏
I lost my brother Michael at the age of 13, and I was his little sister, only 7. I miss him every day, and wonder what my life and my children’s life would be with him. No parent should ever have a child leave this earth before them, it’s unfathomable.
@@bojangles713 Thank you
@@MaryannTurton God Bless you and your family so sorry that you felt that at such a young age
@@cshark7777 Thank you! As much pain as I have felt, I know my parents have felt the worst of it. As a mom, carrying my baby, giving birth, and raising my child is the closest bond. There is no stronger love than this, except God’s love for us. My heart breaks for you, and I pray you will see your child again in heaven…
This was Paul Anka reinvented. He make a comeback in the 70's. Older here than when singing Put your head on my shoulder.
I danced with my mom to this song at my wedding -- yes, I broke down in the middle -- special times to remember
One of the last teen idols of the 50s still alive. At 83 years old, Anka still tours.
Saw him in concert last year. Still in incredible voice and stage presence.
@@catchawave1963 And I'm gonna try and see Frankie Valli's farewell concert
Yes - a song that hits home the older you become - having just turned 70, my thoughts to all things past have come to the forefront of my mind.
Mum and Dad long gone, the kids are adults with a family of their own, some school friends and mates from your younger years have already passed, your fitness is not what it used to be which means those days of kicking a football, running for the bus and climbing ladders seem like an eternity ago.
Your own mortality becomes a question to ponder and the thought of leaving your wife and family behind is a cause for sadness.
All we have are memories, whether good or bad - they are all memories and you will never lose them. In a way…those memories are the glue to our life because we have learned so much from those past experiences and without those experiences and memories, we are less able to function.
The days of our lives are both happy and sad, but each of us should make those memories while we are younger - before we know it, we are middle aged and heading towards our twilight years….depressing? No, not really, just reality and it is why we should all make those moments that turn into memories while we are younger.
Oh! Great song and beautifully delivered and produced.
This song and “Memories “ by Elvis always brings a tear to my eyes. Beautiful!
He wrote My Way. Famously sung by Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley
He also wrote She's a lady by Tom Jones
he kinda stole it from a French-Canadian guy
He wrote English lyrics to the French song for Sinatra.
This was one of the songs played at my mom and dad's wedding anniversary. Both in heaven now together with memories of the times of their lives. Love you both.👩❤️💋👨🙏🙏
Oh Yes!! Such A Beautiful Song!!!!’
This song was also used as a commercial for Kodak , film for cameras ( for you young ones!)
The commercial was so sweet, showed him sitting, singing in the recording studio and then his five little girls come running in to see him!!
( One Of His Daughters Is Married To Actor “JASON BATEMAN”!!)
This song was Kodak film's theme song for years!
I'm 64 years old. Every word of this song resonates. Great song
Diana, Put your head on my shoulders from the 60's when Paul was a teenager...
Elvis Presley's "Memories" is another touching song in the same vein.
This was our HS graduation song 48 years ago!
Mine too 44 years ago.
Mine too at my school, Class of 79
Ours too, class of 76❤
My wife's too - '82
@@TracyfromNC same.. 1979, we sang this, too.
I love this song. It was one of my dad's favorites
Paul Anka not only sang this song, he wrote it, I believe.❤
I've loved this song every since I heard it in a Kodak camera commercial in the middle 70's. I still listen to it a lot to this very day.
Paul Anka wrote: "Shels a Lady" for Tom Jones..
Paul is an amazing song writer, one of his song I really love was from 1981 called THINK AM IN LOVE SGAIN, man is one of Canada,s best song writers
I was a kid when this song came out in the 70s and I wasn't really into it. It was more my parent's speed, but now that I'm older it kinda gets me cause it brings me back to being such a young kid and how good the 70s were as a little kid.. Okay ya got me Paul... took some time but you got me!
Paul Anka wrote the song, "My Way" for Frank Sinatra. Paul has written for so many other artists. Sinatra, Tom Jones, Buddy Holly, among others...He wrote the Tonight Show theme for Johnny Carson. Paul Anka has always been a great entertainer as well. You need to look at the catalog of songs that he's written and performed, you'll not be disappointed!
Including Michael Jackson the last song that was released after his death Paul ANKA wrote the song called , THIS IS IT
I feel like I'm watching an old Kodak commercial. You should check out Your Having My Baby by Paul Anka next!
We sang this at our HS graduation in 1979. We kind of sucked, actually lol, but we did it. Enjoyed this!!
This is intended to be an emotional/nostalgic song. I just liked it as a kid and felt it was a perfect fit for the Kodak commercials. But now, seeing that 50 years have gone by... this song hit me hard. 😢Where did all that time go? All those times of your life?...
His songs "I Don't Like To Sleep Alone" and "You're Having My Baby" are both great!
This song made me remember that I still have film I need to pick up at Fotomat! Thanks!
Graduated High School in 1977. This was our"Class Song" Sang at our ceremony.🎉🎉
Same here, but class of '76
Man, Mr. Anka is so talented and is still performing. His daughter, Amanda, is married to actor, Jason Bateman. I'm sure " My Way" was mentioned. He wrote that one! Love him!!! ❤️ Paul wasn't old when he recorded this. He's still out there!!!
A Steel Guitar And A Glass Of Wine! That is the song to experience! I will have a glass of wine and watch your reaction.
I was just a little girl when this came out and even then it gave me a sweet feeling inside. Now it gives me the chills and my eyes fill up. When my mother in law died 8 years ago This was one of the songs I choose to play in the back ground at her viewing along with pictures of our memories of her with family and friends on the monitor.
One of my favorites! When you guys react to an older song that was part of my younger days - this is how I feel about it! Thanks from an almost 70 year old.
This was used in a Kodak Commercial back in the day !!! One of those: make you think songs.
This song is genius and pure nostalgia. Lost on the youth, but so powerful for those who have lived more days than they have ahead.
I thought this was a sad song even back in the 70's as a teenager. It's even more so now.
In my opinion Paul Anka's "Having My Baby" is his best!
so Paul had his wife's baby? 🤣 Many younger at the time people did not like that song, thought it was too corny or something.
I love that song. I played it once for my son and his wife and they thought it was creepy. WTH do they know anyway.LOL She's expecting their 1st child now... hmmm wonder if I should make them listen to it again!!!
@@thomastimlin1724or creepy
I know there was some controversy at the time it came out because Paul sang "You're having 'my' baby" and many thought it should have been "our" baby. I'm sure Paul meant no offense, but I can see how people could have been taken aback by it at the time. I still have happy memories of hearing it as a kid nonetheless.
This was my 1976 high school class graduating theme song. We actually sang it on stage at a special assembly. Great memories.
I love this one, Jay and Amber! 💎
Im 60 now & of course i know of Paul Anka's younger songs, but ive not heard this one before. Its beautiful. I've been reading the comments & cannot believe that this beautiful song was first written as a commercial! Paul is su h a talented guy, & ive read that hes still touring, what a fella, he really is a Superstar ⭐👌💙
Paul Anka was quite the writer too! He wrote most of his hit songs starting with "Diana". He wrote "My Way" for Frank Sinatra and co-wrote the Tonight Show theme with Johnny Carson! Paul also wrote "She's A Lady" which was a hit for Tom Jones!
Love this song it always makes me so nostaligic. This was released in 1975 one year after I was born. Just like those 70s songs.
Oh my goodness! I remember this one from the Kodak commercials. I couldn't appreciate the lyrics at the time because I was young and had my whole life ahead of me. Now, in my 60s, I get it.
Great tune guys but an even better one by Paul is Having my Baby. Classic tune worth checking out 👍👍
OMG, this song brought me back to my earliest memories, much of which was music. I was born in 1975, so this song made me go back, way back to my earliest childhood with this on the radio. Times really are a changing, aren't they?
Paul Anka had a hit duet with Peter Cetera in the 80s, it was from the soundtrack of a romantic drama at the time. His career was very long and successful.
This song was used in about 95% of my family's wedding videos! Such a sweet song :)
Having My Baby is a song that would NEVER be made today. Times Of Your Life reminds me of Andy Williams, who gave the Osmonds their early pre-pop start. I hope you get to some Andy Williams sometime.
This was the theme song from the commercial for KODAK……..exactly about the memories ❤️
Need to listen to Having my Baby
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "(You're) Having My Baby" and "Lonely Boy" !!!!
i love this song! I heard it on a commercial and fell for for it. Very nostalgic. Youre having my baby was a number one hit for Anka in the 70s.
I've seen Paul in concert numerous times. He used to sing this song regularly while simultaneously showing videos of his 5 daughters and one son and the memories of them growing up.
yeah I saw that show in '76
This is blue eyed soul!
Wow, hadn't heard this since it was popular! Fantastic!!😢😢😢
Paul Anka turned music he wrote for a Kodak commercial into a gorgeous top 10 hit in 1975 with Times Of Your Life. Thanks for listening! Next, you should hear his big 1974 comeback hit, You’re Having My Baby.
This song was what my husband and his mom danced to at our wedding in 1991! ❤ Hello from sunny Florida 🌞🌴
I first heard Paul Anka sing Diana. I never thought he would write something this, or My Way. I always liked him.
Here is an upbeat song from 1974, Beach baby by First Class, i remember listening to it as a child.
Puppy Love was released in 1959 he was 18
The Times of your lives was used in a Kodak commercial in 1976 he was about 35
I used this song at my dad's funeral with a photo retrospective. Always loved this song since the Kodak tv commercials.
Love this song, I think it's Paul Anka's best song. Thank you guys for reacting to it.
when he performed this live he would show old family photos
Thank you for this as I look back on the times of my life.🙂
Geez! I haven't heard this in years! Love this song! More than that, I LOVE watching you two let the music in and feeling it just the way you are supposed to. You two are such a joy to watch, thank you!
You two are such two beautiful people with an appreciation not just for music but I ll bet for life in general.
I love this song. It really resonates to those of us who are in our Twilight years to think back of all the happy times and the sad times. Think of this song when you are in your Twilight years. Rob and Amber and may it bring smiles to your faces too. The song is really hitting hard today because my mother died on 8/1/24. We're burying her this weekend 8/10/24 and I'm remembering the times with my mom. Rest in Peace Mom. I love you❤
My favorite Paul Anka song. The Kodak commercial. lol
I love this song & so many others he sang in the late 50’s to the 70’s.👍👏👏👏♥️♥️
Fun Fact: Paul Anka is actor Jason Bateman's father-in-law
Check out Paul Anka "Hold me til the mornin' comes" with Peter cetera on back ground vocals and harmonies.
Listen to Pauls song ---- All of a sudden my heart sings ---- a great love song
He wrote the Tonight Show theme 1962-1992 starring Johnny Carson.
Canadian legend..he wrote My Way...
This was our high school graduation song back in the late '70s. Reminds you of beautiful times that are long gone.
So glad you did this…danced with my mom to this at my first wedding…she’s been gone 11 years now…I can’t listen to this without getting emotional 😢
The way y’all are swaying is how my two sisters and me used to dance to this record in our living room. We were just young/old enough to swoon over Paul Anka!
I used to listen to this song when I was young and down in the dumps a little...always remember life is short and so precious...love this song and still listen to it❤
Song makes me cry.❤
You real hit on some under the radar gems today. Not a big Paul Anka fan but always liked this one. Patches by Clarance Carter is a great song as is BJ Thomas
Song used in a Kodak film commercial.
This was used as the theme to one of our high school reunions.
Frank Sinatra, "It Was a Very Good Year". There is a great video on YT of him recording the track in the studio.
Guys - I saw him about two or three months ago. We had free seats ( I’m still not sure why my lady friend was given them)
He was warm, funny, very limber and had wonderful interactions with the audience. He also gave a history of his fruitful career. The best part is that he is in his early eighties.😀
This is such a beautiful song. Love it more with every passing year.
This song has been used in commercials, TV.
Oh man I remember this as a child in the Kodak film Ads. Whenever I hear it, I always think about those Ads and it's really The Times of Your life. A perfect song. ❤❤❤❤
I Remember they used this song for the Kodak film commercials when I was a little girl back in the 70's.
Most people think of the song "New York, New York" as a Sinatra song. In fact Paul Anka wrote it and sings it great too.
More from Bob Marley
"Redemption Song" is a song by Jamaican singer Bob Marley. It is the final track on Bob Marley and the Wailers' twelfth album, Uprising, produced by Chris Blackwell and released by Island Records. The song is considered one of Marley's greatest works.
I love this beautiful reflective song ❤
Paul Anka wrote several of Frank Sinatra's biggest hits. My Way just to name one.
This song was used years ago for the Kodak camera commercials.
This song is so classic! It used to be used in popular camera film commercials!
HAVING MY BABY from the 70's by Paul Anka
In a similar vain, "These Are the Days" by Vanessa Williams is a beautiful song that touches on the same topic.
Oh ya, you guys rock, thankyou🎉
