Which climbs would you choose to tackle on your perfect Italian ride?
Did you guys ever get to finish the "Italian Job" (the route was snowed in last time)?
Stentaria. 8km 1200mt 14%. Friuli
So... How many minutes did Ollie put into Hank at the last climb?!
So many to choose from, but the Stelvio probably suits me best
@@andreaz.5313 That's a truly brutal climb!
So nice to see Ollie in his element. He looked so comfortable
Well done Ollie, great to see you get your own back!
I can imagine Ollie watching the videos of him getting dropped for motivation on every one of his training sessions.
I'm a bit tired of Ollie's desperate need for validation. I don't really GAF who crested first..
Looks like it was great fun although poor Hank was starting to lose it towards the end.
GCN are smashing the content at the moment!
Thank you!
"Who gave Ollie climbing legs?" 👍
What a stunning day in the mountains.
I can attest that the Passo Fedaia is brutal (but definitely worth doing 👌🏻). Great to see Ollie dropping someone else for a change!
It's an epic climb!
yep it’s a beast. It broke me, but I still had to do the Pordoi section from the start of this route afterwards, and I bonked and bonked hard. Crawled up and had to get off and lie down a couple of times, fortunately while I was in the Dolomites the cafe at the top of the Pordoi was open and I had a meal and a rest before descending in the rain (overtook a motorbike on the way down which was fun)
I’m totally impressed with Ollie’s climbing 🚴 legs. That is as absolutely beautiful ride.
Having ridden in this area, I am jealous of Ollie and Hank. Great scenery, new top of the line Colnagos, superb weather...can people actually get paid to do this? Sign me up!
I rode there in 2017, when I was following the last week of the Giro, using an ebike due to my MS. Beautiful, awesome, not really the right words for those climbs, and landscapes. I wish to be able to comeback one day.
Great to see Ollie and Hank stretching their legs on an epic ride. And Ollie making it look easy. You've definitely found your mojo Ollie! When can we see those Giro inspired pink bidons in the shop?
This content is what I’m here for. Absolutely epic! What a job you guys have!
So nice to see Ollie and Hank work together! They have search different riding profiles that it always makes it interesting to see how each perform on specific epic rides. 👌😊
Nice to see Campagnolo FINALLY featured on GCN. About freakin' time.
Was I in a dream or did Olie actually drop Hank in just about every climb? Well done, professor! Your riding skills have improved through these years!
Ollie + Hank = my personal favorite presenter duo - Grazie mille and regards from Germany - keep it going guys:)
Ollie is a climbing machine. He seems so happy. Well done both of you. Go figure I watched this before dinner and watched Ollie stuff his face with that awesome sandwich. Tummy growling away now!!
A decade ago I spent a week in the Dolomites. I did all of the climbs in this video plus many more. And the Pordoi was my favorite of all of them. Best week of cycling of my life.
Nice, clear camera work in this one. GCN's chat is always good, but the filming is pixely at times. Glad you gave this place the quality it deserves.
Great Dream Ride Ollie and Hank!!!
Great going Ollie
Stunning 🤩
Alternate title: "Ollie's Revenge"
Kinda binge watching GCN.... and brilliant to see Ollie being happy like a small kid! Colnago and Campagnolo perfect together!
What a fantastic place to cycle. Those views were out of this world! Thank you GCN for sharing this with us and giving us a taste of what the Giro guys are going through now.
My favourite place in the world to ride, epic everything, climbs, descent’s, tarmac, views, food and wine!
I love my 34 tooth cassette!! I had to add a Wolf Tooth road link derailleur extender so my super short derailleur could take it. I now have 38/34 and that helps me go wherever without completely dying.
In a 14-second clip starting at 20:21, GCN managed to show us what is undoubtedly the best part about cycling. Hank did a fantastic job, but Ollie was even more inspirational. Kudos to your production team for the perfect audio AND visual!
Thank you!
Really great incorporation of some music beats 🙌
Brilliant one, that’s the stuff that makes you grab your bike and go out!
I love the phrase "It just unrelents!" I am going to use that. Nice job filming and riding!
I love everything about this video.
Thank you!
More Hank videos. He’s a legend.
Cannot stop watching this fantastic episode
Amazing ride. So nice to see Ollie riding and not getting dropped. 🚴🏻🚴🏻🚴🏻🚴🏻🚴🏻
wonderful wonderful wonderful thanks guys ... felt like another world
Brilliant lads, it's a special place for sure, soaked in cycling history, i love the fact that you can be cycling in lovely hot dry conditions & then in the snow all within an hour or two
Great Job on those climbs! Ollie is crushing it!
Love this! I’m glad I’m not the only one scared and slow off-road!
I have done the Marmolada, and Passo Podoi but not on a bike, and not going upwards :) Both have been when skiing, Staying in Campitello.
I feel lucky to be able to call those place “home”😍
Great video guys. Beautiful climbs. Hank and Ollie are a formidable duo. Love seeing them verbally sparring and duking it out on the road.
14:45 'When you see snow, it's gotta be done!' -> I approve of this message ❄❄
Epic guys!!
Could cry 4 hapiness knowing that region quite well after having crossed the Alps, starting from Germany and heading to Italy (lake Garda/Como+Maggiore) plenty of times - DANKE guys for that amazing video and regards from Germany
What a KILLER ride boys.... And what an incredible series of videos GCN did all this week. Great Stuff Team!!!
Quintessential ride indeed!!
Nicely done GCN.
It was incredible!
Wow...just wow. Huge respect to Connor. That was an incredible job
I have done last weekend my bigest climb so far 1790m, and now I got my appetite on Italian climbs!
Cycling heaven for sure! For my money the Pordoi (in either direction) packs the most reward for effort by far.
It's a great place! Do you ride here often? 👀
Great video. Beautiful views and as an added bonus Ollie wasn't the one getting dropped. Strong riding Ollie! And the panini Hank had looked amazing.
Thank you, thank you and thank you for showing so much love and excitement for my country and my region! 🙏🏻 I’ll try to feel the same on Boxhill 😆
Not quite in the same category 😂
I’m not sure Box Hill is representative of the UK’s climbs. Most of the UKs climbs are short and sometimes brutally steep. You may have more fun riding the hills of The Lake District in Cumbria 😊
@@richcrompton6891 my comment about Boxhill was ironic … I live in London, Surrey Hills is the common area for “climbing”.
@@vbb4162 That makes perfect sense. I bet you miss the 'proper' climbs of northern Italy. It must feel positively 'flat' rolling over those Surrey bumps.
Great to watch, thanks lads..Actually off to Corvara this week , can't wait;-)
Kudos to whoever produced the audio and made the music choices in this vid.
Love the content. I miss cycling in Ireland, so I spend my days here in NYC watching GCN videos when I’m home. 🙂
Im glad im seeing the hard work of ollie is paying off. Like hank is just out of breath while ollie just breathing regularly he treated the climb as a walk in a park.
Great fun video guys, and appreciate that sponsorship makes it possible. looking forward to see the Giro on these hills
Best GCN episode EVER.
Glad you enjoyed it!
awe-inspiring. Inspiring. Thanks lads.. and great climb Dr Bridegewater!
WOW!!
Great video boys. Loved the scenery, the banter, and the bikes are HOT!
What a coincidence, I'm about to eat my Italian sub and there is nothing better to pair it with than with a GCN video with beautiful Italian bikes and the Dolomites! (And Dr. Ollie and Hank of course)
Congrats on completing these iconic climbs !!! These well-paved roads are definitely much better than the old gravel roads Eddie Merckx used to climb - can you imagine that ??? Thanks for showing this great iconic climb with the amazing Colnago bikes - the Giro d'Italia should be amazing !!!
Some of the most beautiful riding in the world, Giau to Cotina is my favorite decent anywhere. I don't think I have ever seen a Colnago move so slow going up the Fedaia, (my wife rides Colonago) (Hank, lay off the paninis at the bottom of the climbs) but it is brutal when you are on the upper slopes and the road is paralleling a ski tow. Great job guys, next trace the route of the old Fondo "Dolomite Classic".
It's an awesome descent
Guys, awesome video! Thank you Nicole
Spent a week in Bormio and a week in Badia/Corvara in 2018 , cycling heaven
Been there and enjoyed every meter of it. What an epic region those Dolomites!
2 clowns and a Ray Mears reference 🤣😎👌
Unreal video lads, must have been a tasty pint and sore legs after!
Cheers, Tom!
I love the dolomites! I'm going in two days, off to watch the penultimate stage! i've done the climbs they are brutal! Fantastic content as always.
Great video guys beautiful and iconic and really nice to see you riding campy. Hank: I've never ridden campy before! I almost feel off my chair, I felt so sorry for him .Good for Ollie riding and climbing as well as he is, he turned into a beast with that being said at 15:09 when he's down in my tuck he needs to tuck those elbows in and get the cranks horizontal.
Love this channel.
Thanks, Bryland! We love that you're here!
Totally incredible ride. You guys are beasts. Ollie was a beast out there. The two of you you are incredible riders. Way to go
thank you
Thank you for this nice videos! Great work.
Commenting till Hank (or anyone else from GCN) does an Epic Ride on a Fixie (not just a Singlespeed), day 13... it dosnt have to be in the Dolomites like this one, would be great to watch tho haha. Those Colnago Paintjobs truly are Beautiful by the way AND HOW ON EARTH did Ollie just Drop Hank multiple Times, what Kind of Witchcraft is this.
Yeah mate me too, I just wanna watch them ride on a fixie 🤍
Just to make you folk jealous, I use to live in Varese and nearly every weekend from the start of Spring was a long weekend in the Dolomites - 2 days climbing, rest day cycling.
That's climbing as in rock climbing...really climbing the mountains
Did all these climbs a few years ago on a Trek Travel trip - brought back some amazing memories! Also superb music choice - great video
What a marvelous job you guys have! Brililiant! And ofc you did an epic route! Will try to do it myself.
1990 Italy, on a Campagnolo equipped Scapin ...day five with the Italian time trial coach ... Amazing. However, my favourite climb was Monte Grappa !
Phenomenal video
Beautiful bikes. I miss my Colnago MX Lite Mapei edition. Great video
Good for Ollie!!
Dolomitri..sono Bello
Per ciclismo..Bravo regazzi
I once lived just 45 min from these epic mountains..
And of course ..mangia bene .
Beautiful film. It makes me want to like climbing! Well done Ollie and hank
Thank you for these videos. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to places like The Dolomites just to see them, much less ride them. Through GCN, I can at least dream of it while living vicariously through the lucky presenters. Keep the great content coming. You’re not just ambassadors of the sport, you are ambassadors of the world. Thank you!
Hank missing Ollie with a snowball after getting a foot full made me laugh out loud. Excellent video - well done!!
Hahah glad you liked it Stan🙌
This is just epic and magificent.....and I haven't even started watching it yet! More please!
Just wait until you watch it. Wow!
Tell Hank, it's a panino, not a panini, lol.... one of my first Italian lessons too, and being laughed at in a bar for the mistake. Superb video, well done !
panino is for just one sandwich. maybe Hank wants many of them, hence panini
Proper epic ride, beautiful scenery, Hank and Ollie back together, Rather nice bikes just apparently not enough coffee to let Hank keep up with Ollie! 😜
Ah I'm remembering doing these climbs right at the end of the season last year (it was proper cold on the descents!), that last climb absolutely roasted me right at the end of the day 😁 class video!
Awesome video and views. Envious...wishing I was there and riding on that bike...thank you !
Thank you guys 😘
Most stunning GCN epic video I've ever watched!!! I was thinking of touring Cornwall & Wales this August, but at this point I might end up heading to the Dolomites instead!! Baffled btw by Ollie's climbing skills putting good ol' Hank to "shame"!
The Dolomites are beautiful
Love it, if you like riding you should go there al least once..Those are places that stay in your heart (and legs 😁) forever!I try to go there once every 2 or 3 years and It is marvelous!!
Gorgeous bikes, gorgeous scenery and two guys who would be fun to ride with going up some of the most picturesque climbs of all time. What more could you want?
Great stuff gents!👍🏻
This video was exactly what I needed right now. Motivated me to keep on training on the bike and looking forward to riding in Italy soon! What a nice video guys, love it.
Beautiful places!!! I did the SELLA RONDA a few times( PASSO PORDOI, PASSO SELLA, PASSO GARDENA,PASSO CAMPOLONGO) and it was amazing everytime!!! Passo Giau did it once from Alleghe!! I'm from Veneto and the Belluno province has beautiful climbs!! You should do also GRAPPA from Romano D'ezzelino! Hank and Oliver the BEST Gcn presenters!!!!!!
Ollie has always had climber's legs, it's just you've never noticed, he is the best :)
Got to ride there last September and have been dreaming about going back ever since!
I’ve ridden all those passes on a Ducati. Now it’s time to do it on my Bianchi! Thanks guys!
It would be Bianchi for me too! 😁
beautiful place and those bikes are 💥💥💥
GCN: banning the super tuck is the right thing to do
Ollie: keeps doing the super tuck
You've even got a video tuck like a pro!
Great video. This demonstrates why I like to climb up hills. There is a downhill at the top.
Tim
Breath-taking!! And No, I'm not envious
