These ladies don't just play at a very high level, they write at an equally high level. For your next Lovebites songs, I suggest Thunder Vengeance written by Miho after she watched a Slayer concert and Set the World on Fire, another Miyako song. You should also watch Thunder Vengeance because of what they are wearing. They only wore them for that song (likely because the suits told them to) and haven't worn them since. Both songs are on their UA-cam channel.

Adding my thanks for featuring Lovebites again. Re. the outfits: Many of the Japanese female rock bands wear super-feminine outfits, in part to create a contrast with the hard edge of the music. It's called "the Gap". I personally love it, the idea of these angelic looking women ripping our faces off with their playing just works. But of course it's a matter of personal taste.

They are making a statement because the music they play is traditionally associated with black… they always play in white. And as Hiawatha G says, it creates the “gap”. It wins more admirers than it loses because the most common comments in first time reactions (after WTF) are people having a mental battle between what they are seeing and what they are hearing. That mental battle is always positive and it creates intrigue. Because of Covid and because of the omnipresent Band Maid and BabyMetal, Lovebites are not nearly as well known as they should be. For that reason I love the outfits because they help generate interest in the band. That and they look nice!
@@alekhidell It's actually interesting--most metal fans may not pick up on it, but many of their songs also have theatrical elements that are reminiscent of Broadway shows, chorus lines and movie soundtracks. Under the Red Sky and Frozen Serenade, and everything on GGTTW, are great examples. So it makes sense for their look to match the theatricality of the music.

Unbelievable performance. Midori and Miyako are perfect together. I LOVE the white outfits because it makes them entirely UNIQUE in heavy metal. And as a man, who doesn't love an elegantly dressed gorgeous woman on stage and Lovebites gives you FIVE gorgeous woman dressed like that.

LOVEBITES often wears their influences on their sleeve. There's a number of songs that sound like Maiden, perhaps none more than "The Crusade" which I believe actually is a tribute to them. I think every LB fan liked Miho. She will be missed no matter who the new bass guitarist is revealed to be. I've seen the overhand playing done poorly where it just looks cheesy, but Midori and Miyako pull it off here, especially with how smoothly both transition out of it.

Miho left for personal reasons, not any friction with the band. Hard days for the Wolfpack. Re.influences, they openly celebrate their influences like Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, Purple, Helloween, Dragonforce, Slayer and more. As Newton said, "standing on the shoulders of giants".

Others say that it’s a crime that two of the best guitarists in the world (male or female) are in the same band. By the way, another great Japanese rock guitar band (instrumental) with an outstanding guitar duo (a man and a woman) is D_Drive.
I don't feel that they are redefining metal, I feel that they are simply making great metal music. I don't feel like there are female stereotypes in the metal scene either. There aren't enough of them for there to be a stereotype. They are an outstanding band in my eyes, not an outstanding female band. They're very, very impressive. I just ain't into the outfits.
I get your point regarding the dresses and I agree that they aren't needed, but I definitely prefer them over Band-Maid's maid costumes for example. And as far as stage costumes go they aren't that strange.

Hey, Ralph. Believe me when I tell you, I will never in a million years apologize for my opinion. I say things like that trying to stave off the idiotic attacks for not liking something. You would be amazed at how many comments I get in response to not liking these outfits as compared to how I feel about the actual music, which is the important thing. It's sort of a barometer for where were are as humans in society. Can't see the forest through the trees. I love the band and the song, but everyone gets heartbroken and offended by me saying that I don't think that they need the outfits. Unbelievable.
