Miyako guts her off the shelf Deane's and replaces nearly all the electronics .... down to the output caps. She's a big nerd, she also BIG on Star Wars. :)
Anyone who plays an instrument knows how many hours of practice are necessary to be able to play live. Not everyone has that much dedication. The whole band is a whole new level that I wasn't aware of before. I am always fascinated by what is possible with dedication and passion. Great.
That's living proof that Miyako & Midori (M&M) are one of the best twin guitar duos ever ! BTW, yes, Miyako changed her Dean USA Icon's pickups to nickel-colored Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers. For something a little different, check out Miyako's piano interpretation & reimagination of Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" : ua-cam.com/video/-h3BLRs0Xr4/v-deo.html
Thank you for your reaction to LOVEBITES.😀 Very nice reaction.👍 Thank you for your continued support of LOVEBITES🙏 [Dean Icon USA Flame Top -Faded Denim] USA Icon is a passive pickup converted to an active pickup. Miyako's DEAN Guitar replaced with Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker Set Nickel pickups. The rear pickup has been replaced with an Ovaltone ROSSO-鵺-NUE DEVICE (red) and the front pickup with an Ovaltone NERO-鵺-NUE DEVICE (black) condenser.
Miho does her best Steve Harris imitations (her idol) during this song. You are right she was never front and center during her stay with the band she founded but now you will notice that Fami (new bassist) gets a lot more attention and shine time. The M&M show in all its glory here, a Vulcan mind meld that even Mr. Spock would be jealous of....LOL!!!! Don't know why this song gets so little play time on YT it is a great rock number.

Excellent reaction. Old guitarist who came of age in the '80s here. There were a handful of guitarists doing that over hand tapping thing back then, so naturally, everybody tried to emulate it. It's not necessary to play the riff, but more difficult because it's backwards from your muscle memory. In short, they're just showing off here.
“Five of a Kind” is still my favorite live release from LOVEBITES. Every song is worth watching and listening to, and I always like venues with a ramp like this. Hopefully this song will find its way into their playlists every so often and not be forgotten.

Miyako is Genius musician, Goddess of music, from other Universe. Midori is her twin sister, great gitarist and body builder. Asami is One and Only Voice, looks like real Madonna (not fake singer). She is also a great woman. Haruna is sweet girl (woman) playing drums. And last but not least FAMI is great young girl, great bass player.
lol love the fact that you guys also realize just how much of a work load the ladies of band-maid actually do in their songs and i would love to see a western band actually true to do a several of their songs in a row (not likely to happen but i can live in hope). Lovebites has just as much drive with their songs the comparison between the 2 is different cause you have a heavy metal band in love bites and a hard rock / metal band in band maid but both of them are high caliber groups who are capable of whatever is put in front of them
Those are indeed Fishman Fluence pickups. Miyako added those to her Dean Icon right after she bought it. There is even a video on Miyako's channel where she takes off the back plate and shows how they crammed the batteries into the small cavity - along with a couple of capacitors that are wired across each pickup . . to fine-tune the tone to *_Exactly_* what she wanted. She has a Dean Signature flying V that _comes_ with the Fishman pickups. Miyako is a Huge gearhead. She also has a signature Orange cab (she plays through a Peavy 5150 that is mic-ed through the Orange cab (with Mi-Ya's Logo, and the Lovebites Logo). Her pedal board is Huge, and contains a Miyako Signature LunaStone OverDrive pedal.
The Wolfpack might eventually forgive you for mixing up Haruna and Akane, lol.😅 I believe they are good friends. This is a generally overlooked song, thanks for reacting to it. Go back and watch that synchronised solo again and I think you'll better appreciate the Bluetooth analogy. M&Ms brains seem to be wired together. Another suggestion for a track which tends to fly under the radar: Today is the Day (live, 2021). It's also on an unofficial YT channel. Includes some interesting talent diversity from one of the ladies.
Maybe not good friends but at least on friendly terms. Hard to be truly friends with how much time each band spends on their craft. Lovebites did go to Band-Maid's Yokohama Arena concert. You can actually see them in the BD. 🤭 It will be interesting to see if Akane publicly goes to Lovebites' Tokyo Garden Theater concert. Sometimes even public people like to keep certain things private so we'll have to wait and see.
Haruna said LB and the maids have played a few festivals together and that she and Akane have gone out to eat. “Good friends” might be stretching it, but friends for sure.
I really love their songs and virtuosity but it's all very structured. I would appreciate it if they would improvise more on a few songs that has no backing tracks, play a solo a half minute longer or do some other unexpected things to make it a bit more unpredictable, give Fami or Haruna some space to do something extra just for fun. They 're so good on their instruments that improvising wouldn't be a big challenge for them and more fun for them on stage and the audience.
I can tell the difference between the performances of the same songs on different nights. M&M aren't exactly Peter Frampton when it comes to improvising but they do throw some changes in there. Same with Haruna.
This is a good suggestion and one that I've never heard anyone talk about before. They have started to add a few things - like Haruna's drum solo as an example, so maybe they are aware of it and working towards that. Their stage movements are also very structured. I've noticed that if you look at the way they perform the same song year after year they reproduce the same stage movements for the most part. They occasionally do add some things and evolve a bit. But I really want to see them do more of that going forward. They need a little bit more spontaneity on stage with both playing and movements. They don't have to go crazy, just do something different.
@@danwhite7265 Yes I know, little differences, a few notes here and there but not exactly improvising on the theme of the song, would be nice if there were some more unexpected moments, a little more spontanious would be nice.
I'm not sure if you ever did their track Dissonance off the latest album. There is no MV for it, but the song is insanely complex. I hope one finally becomes available.
Did Sam actually say 'Akane" when talking about the drumming?? If they were talking about Lovebites, how about you use the drummer's actual name, Haruna.
These solos are so impressive and the song itself is good too. Miho deserves more credit for her contributions to this band.
Absolutely!
I love Miho. My newest instrument is a black ESP Amaze and I got it because of her.
Miyako guts her off the shelf Deane's and replaces nearly all the electronics .... down to the output caps. She's a big nerd, she also BIG on Star Wars. :)
I love that she named her little white dog Wampa.
Miyako & Midori...incredible dual solo guitar. I love it !
Anyone who plays an instrument knows how many hours of practice are necessary to be able to play live. Not everyone has that much dedication. The whole band is a whole new level that I wasn't aware of before. I am always fascinated by what is possible with dedication and passion. Great.

One of my guitarist friends turned me on to Fishman pickups years ago and they’re the best I’ve found for guitar. All three of my guitars have them.
The best guitar duo, M&M!❤
Lovebites are working on new material hopefully new release before xmas
When the lights go red...bruh, F epic. You know the shit's about to get real. A good song with a great solo section. 🤘

Miyako & Midori are the best duo I've heard in decades.
