- In this episode of “Closer Look,” Besmira Rraci, Ayesha Bulchandani Education Intern, discusses Thomas Gainsborough’s "Grace Dalrymple Elliott," on display on the fourth floor of Frick Madison. Besmira unveils the identity of this blushing sitter while emphasizing how the aesthetic choices of her depiction communicate her multifaceted life. This is the first episode in a series of three, featuring the Education Department's 2022 summer interns each taking an in-depth look at one object in our collection.

Beautifully done talk on this wonderful painting. I have missed the Frick talks so much. I hope you do more of these. Thank you!
What a thoughtful and considerate analysis of a beautiful piece of work. Well done by the speaker!
I love these talks. I really miss the Cocktails with a Curator series. And these talks are a lifeline.
So many aspects of the painting that I would have never thought to consider if I looked at this piece by myself!!! Such a wonderfully brief yet in-depth closer look,,, I am so interested in this lady and want to learn more about her. So fascinating,,, and the speaker is so wonderful! Their word choice is impeccable and their voice pairs nicely with the painting. I am excited to see this painting in real life. Thumbs up!
Besmira, nicely written and delivered! Can't wait to view your next talk. What a great internship opportunity!
Lovely presentation , and fascinating history of this lady. Well done, I enjoyed very much indeed.

Grace, Elliot, Elliott. Oh my. Officer Elliot.✝️☮️🎼😇😎🙏🍀🐞🦋🌊🙌💪🔔✌️🌞💐🌍👣🥁🗝️🤲💛💙
Beautiful painting! I'm interested that she shares multiple sir names with a certain novel protagonist... I wonder if her story or portraits served as inspiration for the writer.

Poor thing married her grandfather, no wonder she took a lover, I don't blame her.
Julianna: Grace married a man eighteen years older than her, at most he (barely) could have been her father. Let's not get carried away. 😁 Have a nice day.
@@arslongavitabrevis5136 If he was 18 yrs her senior he was firmly in the Daddy court, let not understate the issue.
@@arslongavitabrevis5136 I would also encourage you to consider the different stands in society during the era in question and not use modern day.
@@julianabarrington1954 Nobody is "understating the issue" as you so dramatically call it. Yes, 18 years is a big difference but let´s not be silly and talk about "grandfather". In any case, you are "overstating the issue". Get a grip girl!
@@arslongavitabrevis5136 Oh for Pete sake I joking. Hey if a woman wants to marry a man the same age as her father or grandfather, that's up to her. Sorry I hit a nerve.
Nice. Antifa curator new york new york.
I think I get where you are coming from 😄 Having said that, the girl is pretty wooden and does not show any enthusiasm for the subject. A very mediocre performance if you compare it with the wonderful presentations of Aimee Ngo a couple of years ago. Have a nice day.
