Just a question(the idea is revolutionary tough) Could it withstand the weight of the old metal series being packed and put at it en mass? (As a valhallan guard player this is a real consern) Thanks on advance. Awesome as always.
As someone with more than a few old metal ork nobs, I'm also curious about its ability to carry weight. I love the idea of this. I'll absolutely be checking out the kickstarter.
@@LymanAbraxas Upzone shared a post on their Facebook page showing that it can hold up under the weight of several decent sized metal minis, including a photo of one of the minis on a scale.
I know nothing about Warhammer, I know nothing about miniatures, I know very little about painting, yet I could watch you all day long as well as your videos, that goes along way to showing how entertaining you are! Thank you and keep up the incredible work!
Hell yeah, more Oldhammer/ retrogaming! Looking forward to an eventual RT or 2ed battle report when you have your army all painted up! Also, this is the first video sponsor I've EVER seen on UA-cam that actually made me excited. Pop-up book terrain is such an incredible idea I can't believe nobody had ever thought of it before.
I hear you about forest colors man, i've got the same feeling. Grew up in the forest and those colors have always been my favorite and often are calming for me as well.
Your forrest-green paint relationship is really interesting. I grew up on the water and I also love painting blue so I think there's something to say there.
i always love the editing in your videos. really let’s your wonderful personality show, and makes people feel like they know you. thanks for making fantastic videos!
I think that the designers of those minis would be absolutely gobsmacked to see them painted up in this amazing manner. Maybe the Red Armoured Ork is the local Sheriff, or perhaps a Dakkajet pilot waiting for his damaged plane to be fixed. It is great to see you leaning in to the less bombastic side of Ork Fluff.
Damn what a beautiful forest, I live near california redwood forests. They're incredible. I love being inspired by it. I remember dreaming of painting tyranids the colors of the forests around lake tahoe where I used to go when I was a kid too.
Love the colour scheme. As someone old enough to have some of the first Space Orks to roll off the Citadel production line (Evil Sunz were my poison of choice), I'm loving this. BTW, your reference to the importance and 'embeddedness' of place (especially childhood) in shaping us and what we're drawn to made me think of one of my favourite authors - Robert Macfarlane. I'd highly recommend trying The Wild Places to begin with (but all his stuff is great). His writing is so evocative and he particularly focuses on the reflexive relationship between people and their physical environment. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Keep up the great work - Retrohammer all the way!
As i stated to our boy casey as a deathwatch player I shall stem the green tide but as a painter those greenskins you painted are so freaking fantastic. Your blends ooooo they make me jealous
I love your videos, you have hands down the best NMM approach in models, something that would take me hours and look bad but yours is simple, clear and amazing. I need to learn this.
Thanks for this video! Orks were my first army and seeing your treatment of those classic models makes me want to dig out those old models, strip them, and revisit the pure joy they were to paint the first time around. I got sucked into painting some old Rogue Trader era metal marines over the past couple months by another U-tube channel ( who shall remain unnamed, to protect the innocent, and the guilty) so doing a bunch of contemporary Ork models seems the sanest thing to do! I look forward to further videos on this project. As an aside, I too spent a lot of time roaming the woods and fields where I was raised and looking at my own painting , there are an inordinate amount of green and earth tones models. Same with my paint collection! Mostly browns, greens, and shades of grey! Anyways, thanks again!
Paul Boners early black and white artwork on the orks, without doubt, was one of the biggest influencers on my early art development. Which also went on to have a huge influence on my career. Not so much the style, which I love, but the characterisation he captured in his images went on to be a huge influence as to how powerful "character" is, whaterver you're desigining and drawing... He is, by far, GWs best artists to date. Although... I do have to give a shout out to Jes Goodwin at this point too, his eldar designs showed me the strength of design and what it can bring to a world and character... His style and Eldar development sketches, were actually a direct influence on the way I draw, in the early days. The only reason he doesn't top Paul Boner, is because as time went on, Jes work had less of an influence on me, while I still reference Pauls work and characterisation now... Really pleased to see it included here.

Maybe that's why my paintjobs always lean more towards cartoony. Because when I look back to my childhood, I've always been a big fan of cartoons. And I'm still a big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This would explain a lot. Your video did more than just show off your plans for your Ork army colour scheme.
Hey Emil. Love the videos. You were one of the first mini painters I followed regularly on UA-cam. Always get really inspired after watching one of your vids! Keep up the great work.
This is the first time ever any UA-cam channel I follow has ever advertised anything I ever clicked on. (I started following you after your Kickstarter, Squidmar.)
You and I have a similar story for our armies! I'm collecting Slaves to Darkness, and the story for my army is that they're all from different clans, but are united in the thought that they don't have to succumb to chaos. They're realists who understand that chaos exists regardless, and that the key is moderation and unity. Of course, it's hard to tell whether that's just fanciful thinking, or if they're onto something. They're still mercenaries and will help whomever pays the most.
Loved the video Emil! The forest shots where super fun to see and you never cease to amaze with the painting standards you have :D hope we get a lot of people joining for the march of armies!
I really do agree! I like it but i wasnt feeling painting a whole army of it! I'm really excited of where the painting of Ghaz is going, just gotta finish him now :D

Ashamed to say I've never appreciated orks, was always a Marine fan boy through an through. That being said.. your painting scheme and the way you make them look dark and dank but still pop is inspiring me to want to paint some orks! Great content as always! Big love from the UK! P.S. I'll head over to customs an see if I cant push your terrain through the red tape ;)
Love the way your Ghazghkull is looking! It made me think about repainting mine, but I just can't bring myself to lose that historical snapshot of my painting style and skill from that point in my gaming past. I've also noticed that orks feel less "fluffy" than they used to be. I need to work on getting my hands on those old books. I havent really played or paid much attention to 40k since Gorkmorka was a thing. The more I learn about the current system the more nostalgic I get for the old days. Im glad I'm not the only one!
I really like the lore of your army, so you can paint any clan's colours and they'll fit with the army. I am doing something similar for my AoS Chaos army...mixing mortals and demons of all the chaos gods because they are in the Eighpoints and are going to conquer the realms together :)
@@aggonzalezdc Haha that would be cool. But no, someone to help with video editing.
