Simple Small Parts Storage System | Small Shop Organization

- This is my small parts storage rack that I built to contain all of my fasteners, screws, nails, nuts, bolts, and any other loose small parts. This rack was simple to build and serves the basic purpose of holding these organizers and keeping them out of the way but easily accessible. The parts organizers are all DeWalt that I got at Home Depot. Time to get organized with your small parts storage rack!

I love what you did, and I’m hoping to build something similar myself. I might add a simple low-profile drawer/shelf at the bottom, so I can pull that out and have a place to set the small parts organizer as I dig into it for what I’m looking for. Thanks!! 👍
I actually don’t have small part organizers for bits like you do. I use them for LEGO pieces. I really like what you did. I’m currently using IKEA IVAR system shelving.
Looks awesome.
Price of wood has skyrocketed...I'll use tracks instead of shelves.
Thanks for sharing
Just what I need. Screws and such are all over my shop. This design of yours is great, and would be a nice asset to my shop. Thanks for posting it.
Sure! I thought about making something fancier but I needed this quick, so I kept the design simple.
I built a similar setup into a storage cabinet in my garage. My shop is very dusty and it is nice to have everything behind cabinet doors.
You want a tip. For free of course. The spot where you have your remote control. Put in a small drawer/shelf. When you need a part or screw, you pull out the shelf and put your storage bin on that and open it up, close the lid and put the container back. That way you do not have to walk to a different location to open the lid. I learned the hard way.
That's a great idea! I may have to add that feature in a later video.
Awesome job Jared. I'll have to do this for my garage too. I'm struggling with the same problem.
It makes a big difference to have it all in one place! It's a simple solution.
Very nice
Thanks!
I made something similar for myself - just basic dadoes and organizers. Simple but effective. Only difference is that it sits in a far corner of my workbench that's not usable, as opposed to being on the wall.
Nice! It super handy to keep things organized.
Hey there! Any chance you could make a video for beginning woodworkers that shows the essentials for getting started? My husband and I just bought a house and are eager to get to work on some projects but don't exactly know where to begin outside of the basic power tools.
That's a great idea! I'll add that to my list of future videos.
You think of everything. Can we give you some clean loose scrap wood ? Mom
Excellent Job man! I'm so going to rip off this design!
Great! I'm glad it helped
You should do a shop tour..
I will eventually. I just have a few things to get organized first!
I don't like the organizers with the lift out dividers. It seems like they always lift up and end up getting stuff mixed up. I only buy the kind with the individual bins now.
Yeah I'm realizing that more with my two smaller bins... might have to get some different ones with the lift out trays
@@EveningWoodworker I'm really liking the Milwaukee jobsite organizers, and the husky organizers look real good too and there pretty çheap.
Thanks I'll definitely take a look
What size is your shop?
It's about 12ft x 24ft. One car garage size
why would you do that if for only $62000 you could do Packouts?
I know right?
