What’s not said, but Regina thought this at first too, is if Rumple knew Henry was his grandson. It is a freakish coincidence that the adoption he procured for Regina was his grandson. He knew that Emma was Henry’s birth mother, it’s possible he also knew that Neal was Henry’s father.
@@lauraschoenborn3544 From what I understood, Rumple wasn't awake from the curse at that time. I think he chose Henry by mistake (maybe it was by the fate). But who knows? We already know that he woke up when the Charmings did too with the help of that flower (flashback from season 6), which was after 10 years (I think) after the curse was casted. It is possible that he woke up again (if he heard Emma's name, since that's the key for him to wake up).
@@lauraschoenborn3544 Now I question myself, if Rumple would have been able to know that Bae is Henry's father, wouldn't he be able to know how Bae looked like when he became a father too? He thought that August was him.
"When one controls something, one no longer need fear it. Control the journey and the fear will stop." I think I'm going to try to use this as a mantra for my anxiety. Thanks Rumple!
There was a really good deleted scene called “white dreams” or something like that where teen Henry wanted rumple to erase his memories of Regina and rumple had a moment with him ab how he should appreciate her and stuff it was really sweet. Sad they removed it
100% agreed. I loved the scene where Henry asks how powerful cora is and Rumple's like "yes but not as powerful as me." Basically saying "stick with me kid you gonna be safe."
@CatGold5047 yeah he spares Miriam and Robin just because she's pregnant with Roland. And he resent Zelena for making him hurt Roland later. And the kid he kidnapped he was planning on returning.
@@cotygv I think it has to do with what the seer told him. He wants to love and be there for Henry (He does try and he could have killed Henry for taking the crystal in season 5 but he didn't,) but he is terrified of losing his powers and returning to the underworld and dying that it prevents him from allowing Henry into his heart fully.
I'm not so sure of that. I think a part of Rumple always had a soft spot for Henry. I honestly would not have been surprised if Rumple know Henry was his grandson, or at least saw Baelfire in Henry. I wish they never made Rumple solely evil in season 4. I really liked his character arc. And he was showing so much development in seasons 2 and 3.
@@lauraschoenborn3544 Gold didn't know. He knew Emma was his mother, and that's why he chose him. If he had known Henry was his grandson from the start I doubt he'd have given him to Regina.
This is what I wish they had explored more: Henry and Rumple's relationship. They made him go dark whenever it was convenient but I think they lost a valuable opportunity here. Rumple lost Bae, but he could have had a relationship with his grandson, Henry. He risks his life for the boy more than once. A relationship between them could have been really cool. Plus, Rumpelstiltskin was better as morally ambiguous. :D
Looking back on this scene makes me wonder if maybe Rumple saw his son in Henry (yes i know he is his grandson but he doesn't know this yet) and thus he is willing to help the young boy out and help protect him, sort of like he is trying to make amends. He couldn't protect his son and let him down so by being there for Henry he is basically giving himself a second chance.
I’ve often wondered if Rumple knew Henry was his grandson. Yes, he was surprised. But it is a freakish coincidence that the adoption HE procured for Regina happened to be his grandson. It was mentioned that he knew Emma was Henry’s birth mother, so it’s not too much of a stretch for him to know Neal was his father,
I still think there should have been more Rumple Henry Grandfather/grandson shenanigans. Nothing as much as killing people but maybe Henry just wants to learn some stuff about his grandfather, and yes kinda weird but maybe learn some small magic tricks idk
Henry wanted so desperately to be close to everyone from his family, why did they have him only pretend to want to be close to Rumple? I mean, he even called Belle Grandma. It makes no sense.
Now I seriously want Henry to be his grandson. Rumple's so.... protective/caring (??) with him now, can you think of how much more he'd be if he was his grandchild.
I'm so glad Rumple ended up being his grandfather! He's always had a soft spot for Henry, probably because Henry is so much like Nealfire.
And Henry is just so loveable

I love how Rumple has such a soft spot for kids.
We should of gotten more scenes between Henry and Gold. I loved seeing Golds soft spot for Henry

This was back when Gold actually liked Henry.
I got the impression that Rumple loved and liked Henry more when he didn't know that Henry was his grandson. That's a real shame.

Interesting comment. Considering that's exactly what happened 😄
1billsookie he is Henry’s grandfather!
Holy shit
Damm you really predicted it!!
grandpa gold has one werid medical bag
For all the other sleeping curses on this show, this plot point never comes back up
exactly, what do the victims feel of sleeping curse ?
The look on his face when he mention "life n death" like he cross paths with someone
