Such a good grandfather grandson moment. I wish Henry had more moments like this with both sets of grandparents. And Rumple is one who can really understand and relate to how Henry feels after Henry explains why he's upset. Love this moment.
2:06, the way he says "No, Come on," has such a gentleness to it. Gold knows what Henry is feeling and he doesn't want him to go down the path he did. It's one of his sweeter moments as Henry's grandfather.
They definitely should of had more of Henry and Gold. It was so fun to watch. Gold was such a great grandfather here, and I’d love to see him caring for Henry more
Mr Gold & Henry scenes are literally the best. Their interactions, talks & most importantly acknowledging that their grandfather & grandson can always steal the show. You get what Bae & Rumple could have been
I've watched all the deleted scenes from the previous seasons and i always understood why they were cut out. But THIS... A Rumple grandfather moment?!? It's just so perfect and sweet, i wish they had kept it.
This one a brilliant grandfather/grandson moment between Henry and Rumple. He literally gave Henry perfect life advice cause Rumple has had a HARSH life but he has gotten stronger from it. I also like how he mentions about having the liniage of the dark one and blood of the saviour in him and says'time will tell'cause Henry later becomes the author like that is amazing foreshadowing.
I’m a fan of OUAT since it was on TV and I was in high school. I’m only realizing now there is a whole cache of deleted scenes out there. I would’ve loved if they include this scene. We should have more Rumple/Henry. As well as Regina/Snow.
This scene was touching! And it's nice to see an interaction between grandfather and grandson. UNBELIEVABLE. I wish they would stop shoving Frozen down our throats, I could care less. But whatever... thanks for sharing!
Yeah, I've always liked their scenes together. Even though there have only been enough to probably count on one hand. However, from what I've read, we may get our wish in Season 4.
After how bad Rumple was throughout the series, why could we not get this sweet moment between a boy and his grandfather! I loved the good and caring version of him!
OMG! I never knew about this scene and I LOVED IT! They should have left that in, that's the best scene between this Grandfather and Grandson throughout all 7 seasons...I need more deleted scenes! Thanks for sharing, even if it was 9 years ago! lol.
Man rumple/Robert just makes my heart melt. Such a talented actor. If there was ever a lesson example in acting with your eyes and voice tone, this would be it.
Love this scene its the sweetest. He is being a real grandpa here and it’s the first time we see them bonding over something they have in common (bad memories). Although Gold does pose and interesting question: with his lineage, it’s strange Henry didn’t grow up to be cool, evil, powerful or ambitious
What I would've loved to have seen was Rumple coming to regard Henry as another Baelfire. Someone to actually be a more guardian figure around. I feel like it wasn't as impactful to have Rumple as Henry's grandfather if we didn't get more scenes like this. Even during his darker/darkest stints during the show, pulling back to be there for Henry. It also would have been a good way to sort of level Rumple instead of just having him go "Oh Belle no don't leave me" every time he went dark, but instead using his "grandfathership" over Henry as a way to question his fundamental thought process, similar to how Baelfire got Rumple to fight his dark urges, Henry could have done the same.
Lol. I find it funny how judgmental Henrys being of Regina. I guess he forgot about the part where he’s the one who ditched her without even looking back or giving it a second thought.
When did he do that? Besides, I probably would do that too if I had Regina for a mother. She may love him, but she was a terrible mother to him in S1 and earlier. Not to mention the murder and stuff in S2.
Ariel Steinsaltz 2x02. Which kinda makes it feel like they’ve come full circle, seeing as how this is also the second episode two seasons later. I’m not disagreeing with you about the things she’s done. But I just hate that fact she’s been trying so hard to fix their relationship (to the point where she’s nearly died twice for him) and he just brushes it off. lol. but I guess the Evil Regal part of me is just biased. Lol.
Ariel Steinsaltz The storyline isn’t consistent 😰 I don’t think Regina was always a bad mother- you see it in season 2 when Cora went through the gifts that Henry made her when he was little, in season 3 flashbacks of Regina caring for baby Henry, and in season 7 when Henry admits that Regina was the first person to ever love him. I think there was a moment in Henry’s life when he finds out that Regina isn’t his biological mother when he began withdrawing (as many would die to the shock of the news) and he went on a quest to find an “actual family”.
ok.. we all know how damn GOOD 1st season was (they had like 10 years to devise it, so it makes sense) and we also sadly know how the quality of the show dropped since the series moved on.. now, this is a legitimately good! thia are the kind of things that makes me enjoy the show. and this are the kind of scenes they decide to keep out? really??
Am I the only one sensing the double standard here? I liked the interaction with gold because we don't see that often, but this was completely out of character for the Henry we got used to, it's like he reverted to 2 years ago. Thank god his grandfather set him straight.
shipsnthenight ***** Totally agree. Another issue I have with this scene is that Henry is once again disregarding Regina. After all she's done to redeem herself we're suddenly back to season one where Henry practically disowned her as his mother. You know how many times Emma pushed Henry away or lied to him yet he still chose her over Regina? Not to mention, she didn't know the first thing about being a mother or interacting with kids when the show first started (their earlier encounters were always kinda awkward). It frustrates me that Henry will always treat Emma better than he treats Regina. It's like the writer's go out of their way to purposefully strain their relationship while Emma gets a free pass because she's his biological mother as well as the savior.
chilvari well there was that little thing of Regina being evil in the first two season and placing a curse on an entire kingdom. But yeah there is no way of telling why Henry choose Emma over Regina. (BTW I’m being sarcastic.)
Is it just me or around 2:14 you could almost swear he's talking to Baelfire? I mean by the angle Henry REALLY resembles him! Also, I understand why this was cut but I do wish they touched a lot more on Henry's lineage - the Dark One, Snow White/Charming, and the Saviour, plus raised by the Evil Queen? All that potential and I feel disappointed that it's not being explored more - it's probably one of the only things in this show that I do find unsatisfying. There is just SO much they could do with it, so I'm hoping we will get to see that sometime soon and not when Henry's pretty much all grown up.
I wish they kept this scene, rumple was such a complicated character, who kept growing and regressing throughout the series. I think this scene would’ve done a lot of good for communicating, more Sincerely, his awareness of that reality.
Heavy cloak of regret that we wear till we die, huh? Way to cheer up the angsty teenager, Rumple. ;) But, no, I really do love this scene, and that totally fits Rumple's personality and cynical world view. (This is why you go to Snow, Charming or Belle if you want a pep talk.)
+Catherine Elmore I like his advice much better than the shiny, happy unrealistic pablum that he'd get from Snow or Charming. Rumple's a pragmatist, who has a lot of guilt and regrets to carry. You'll get the unvarnished truth from him. That's what Henry needed right then.
@@claireaquos6532 I definitely think the Dark One leaves an imprint on him, maybe not genetically/physically but the lasting effects are certainly there. Hell, Rumple used to be a savior as a baby, so Henry has TWO Savior's legacies one from his Mother, the other as an Ex-Savior from his Grandfather Rumple.
I understand why this scene was cut out. It was cut out because Henry was over reacting. Lots of people want to be alone when they go through a break up. Regina made it clear in the note that it was all just temporary. If Regina and Henry get into any problems that are more major later on in this season or the next one, then I'd like Henry to go to Gold and ask for his fake memories back. They'll have a similar heart tot heart except they'd talk more about the more major problem.
Well, he's a teenager, OF COURSE he's going to over react and feel rejected. Howerver, I do think Henry wanting to forget about Regina is WAY to out of character for him despite what I just said. Hell, doesn't Henry knows that relaying on magic isn't a good thing? I do wish we got more Henry and Rumples moments thought.
Right now rumple is doing everything he can to convince him to go the other way instead of it doing well what is it that you want isn’t given a warning no consequences all magic comes with a price deal bada bing bada boom you’re done
Do pray tell me why did they had to delete this scene? This was one honest conversation between Henry nd Rumplestilskin we ever got and guess what it became a deleted scene, great !
eh... I think it's good... he's still a kid. So him being whiny or immature makes perfect sense - where Regina temporarily pushed him away and so he wants to forget she exists.
Is it just me or was it kind of misleading that Henry and Rumple have these interactions of somewhat bonding then like the very next ep RUMPLE WANTS TO KILL HENRY AND IS LIKE IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT. Like it's clear throughout the story that he really cares for family and Henry is his grandson and henry did mean a lot to Baefire. Soooooo it's confusing I wished they just let them have a good relationship like this.
I really like this scene, but I see why they cut it out. Henry being angry enough to try to erase his memories of Regina is actually very out of character. Yes, he tends to be pretty emotionally driven which we can see by the way he's tried to get rid of magic a few times, but he's never acted out of emotion to try to hurt someone else like in this scene. However, for some reason, Henry seems a lot more human in this scene than he usually does and I don't really know why that is. I really like the interaction between him and Rumple, though. Unfortunately, I don't think that there is any chance for a scene like this in the future because at the end of this season, Rumple literally tries to kill him.
This makes no sense. It's like they just made something up to explain how Rumple's dealt with his regrets and the broken lock. Henry's more Peter Pan than Henry in this scene.
This is such a nice scene but I understand why they deleted it. I don't think Henry could want to forget Regina completely. Not the heart of the truest believer. Like not as far as to actually ask someone who could really do it for him. I love that they still released this though
People say this is out of character for Henry but it’s really not he’s given up before and then marched right back up to face shit it’s what he does Plus every kid has reacted similarly to this at somepoint and don’t even bother telling me you never did
In what world would Henry want to Forget Regina because of a note, but didn’t have the same reaction when Emma kept Bae from him? Or tried to take him away from his home. Henry WANTS to be in Storybrooke. He would’ve never said this. There’s more people besides his family that he would be leaving behind and Henry isn’t Emma. He’d never just turn his back and run just because things are hard. He wouldn’t walk out on the people he loves to have an easier life like She would.
WTF is this deleted scene?! I mean, after all your mother has done for you Henry?? Why can you just simply understand what she's going through and BE there for her? Thank gods the writers didn't put this awful scene and instead they went with an understanding and caring Henry... finally, one good call writers!! Because, the theme IS... you never give up on the people you love right?
I'm glad they deleted this scene, because Henry was being a little shit and feeling sorry for himself. Henry: My mom doesn't want to see me! He was the one who up and left her in the first place and Regina wasn't a bad mother either. Henry just didn't like the fact that Regina wasn't his biological mother!
I read a spoiler that Henry will be working at his shop in this season, as well as the scene where Charming and Hook came to the shop about the pendent....wouldn't these two scenarios tie in perfectly with this scene. So my question is why would they leave this out?

Jared and Robert were sooooo perfect together here. It's a shame they cut this, it shows a lot from both of them.
Mr Gold & Henry scenes are literally the best. Their interactions, talks & most importantly acknowledging that their grandfather & grandson can always steal the show. You get what Bae & Rumple could have been
Oh I wish they had kept this! We needed more grandfatherly moments from Rumple! You can just see the love in his eyes as he knows the pain Henry's in!
They should have more grandfather/grandson moments scenes.

Coral Roper Thank you.

just realised Henry has the blood of True Love, the Dark One, and the Savior running through his veins....he really should have been greater
