- St. Thérèse, also known as the “Little Flower” lived a short, but blessed life as a Carmelite nun in France. Her prayerful and humble devotion has made her an inspiration to millions of people around the world.
Born in 1873 to religious parents, Thérèse lost her mother at the age of four. Thérèse was very emotional as a child and was often overwhelmed with emotion. A word of criticism or a small loss could send her into tears. Thérèse prayed for Jesus to stop these outbursts and she eventually developed an incredible force of will.
Asking to enter the convent at age 14, she was rejected. Unsatisfied, St. Thérèse went to the bishop, and eventually to Rome where she attempted to ask the Pope for his intervention. The Vicar General recognized her effort and intervened. Although young, Thérèse was admitted to the convent.
While in the convent, she experienced loss and physical suffering. Despite these difficulties, she remained steadfast in her devotion to Christ and her sisters, and she never complained.
Thérèse developed tuberculosis and realized she was soon to die. Her suffering was so great her doctor could not believe it. Thérèse explained that it was impossible for her to suffer, because suffering had become sweet to her.
When her body was exhumed in 1910, it was said to smell sweetly of the Odor of Sanctity. She was canonized in 1925. St. Thérèse continues to intervene for those who suffer. Her devotion, “The Little Way” and her autobiography. “Story of a Soul” are among the most popular Catholic books in the world.

She never lets you down by showing you a rose or roses if you are paying attention. It is her way of expressing her love and the love that we should be consumed with God our creator. @@factss8291 you can just pray to God, in Jesus' name, for healing. There's no reason to call on a dead person for anything. The Bible is very clear on that.
I am a recipient of one of her roses. I prayed our unborn baby would be ok as the doctors were not sure since I was so sick from complications of my thyroid. Unbeknownst to my husband he came home from work with a paper rose before my tests and amniocentesis. On his last work trip, the crew had stopped to eat before taking the train home. A lady hostess was making them at a restaurant out of paper napkins as patrons waited for a table. She gave one to my husband. It was all I needed to know our baby was going to be ok. And true to her miraculous sign of a rose, he was born healthy! Thank you St. Therese..

You know I often don't get a chance to pray to Saint Therese aka the little flower for her divine intervention. But now I think i really should because I have a friend of mine who's a student at Southern CT state university and he's very determined to finish off the semester and his exams begin on May 9th this year and hopefully by May 20th this year he'll be able to graduate this year.

He's determined to finish off the semester and the final exams are on May 9th this year and the graduation date for him is May 20th. Let's hope and pray that he does well with his school work and homework assignments along with the final exams and hopefully by May 20th he'll graduate. Amen. Australia hosted St Therese's relics in 2001, including a nearby parish. After her visit the eastern side of Australia experienced an unprecedented decade of crippling drought. Farmers committed suicide, business destroyed, dams empty and major rivers, never seen in modern dam building times, stopped flowing. My own father died from stress related cancer. An area bigger than western Europe was turned into a dust bowl. If that's flowers sent from Heaven, God help anyone else she lavishes her attention on.
