I’m a Protestant considering becoming a Catholic, don’t even know where to begin. Where do I start? Can I attend Catholic mass as a Protestant? Can I go to confession? I recently had a dream where Mary appeared to me and told me to pray the rosary and I am, and I’m already seeing a massive shift in my heart. I can feel the Holy Spirit giving me peace. What next?

Hi @Donavan Freberg, it’s so nice to meet you and welcome to our channel! That is such great news that you’re considering becoming a Catholic and that you’re experiencing the closeness of Mary and the Holy Spirit.
You can indeed attend Mass, but you wouldn’t be able to receive Holy Communion until you complete the process of becoming Catholic, the first step of which is signing up to an RCIA class. Do you have any friends who are Catholic who can walk with you in this journey? If not, contact any parish and ask about an RCIA course and becoming Catholic. The doors are wide open!
As for Confession, that would also be after officially coming into the Church as a Catholic, but you could still talk to a priest and get direction regarding overcoming sins etc. It just wouldn’t be sacramental confession until you become Catholic.
I hope that helps and please comment again if you think we can be helpful in any way!
We’ll be praying for you on your journey.
Katie and all at Called to More
Ps I highly recommend this website for orthodox and reliable answers to any questions you have: Catholic.com

Donovan- you are going to make a great Catholic.
You want to be with the Catholic Church that recognizes Pope Francis as the legitimate Pope. Disregard comments from people who mention St. Pius X (and other tiny splinter groups) who troll these videos as they are not in full communion with Rome -and they don’t accept certain councils and teachings.
I probably just confused you, but I had to warn you that others (and the devil) may try and distract you from staying the true course.
Peace in Christ. You will be in my prayers.
P.S. “The Coming Home Network “ with Marcus Grodi has a lot of videos of Protestant pastors who became Catholic. Also check out “Catholic Answers.”

I too am a convert. 6 years old as a Catholic. I started RCIA ( Right of Christian Initiation for Adults) in hopes to confirm my beliefs as a Protestant. A year later I entered the Catholic Church. I’m so excited for you and your journey. Please look into the Latin mass as well. My family and I recently have gotten more interested in the Traditional Latin Mass…. Such a beautiful, rich, practice. Will be praying for you.

@@timothyquain2447 I second the SSPX recommendation and would counsel anyone to avoid the new modernist Vatican II church like the Kiss of Death, because you will never ever ever learn the authentic faith there, or worship in the way that is pleasing to God, the one that He designed to perfection. You would actually be doing the opposite. And you wouldn't even be Catholic either. The Catholic Church got hijacked in the 1960s by heretic radicals who decided to stay in the Church and take it down from within to build something different. They actually succeeded in establishing what amounts to a whole new religion, with new theology that contradicts the old, a new Mass that hides the nature of what it truly is and substitutes Protestant theology, new sacraments, ugly new buildings stripped of anything holy & elevated - all of which not only contradicts the entire previous history of Church teaching over millenia but which is also downright deadly to the soul and even to basic belief in God, as I can attest. The new modern church basically rejected the actual, true Catholic Church of the ages, which can never change, and it created a new hybrid with Protestantism, keeping just the Catholic name. The liturgy is basically identical with Anglicanism, only theirs is much more reverent.
At least look into it, don't take my word for it. If you do want to take somebody's word for it, Our Lady already reached out to you, and she has already spoken to the world on the subject in apparitions, warning about the suicide of altering the faith in its beliefs, it's liturgy, and it's soul. She warned us about this fake new church at Good Success, LaSalette, Fatima, Tre Fontane, and Akita.
Personally, I know for a fact that SSPX, and similar communities that obey God & the true Church's unchangable teachings first before obeying any man, is the way to go - because of my own conversion story. The new, hijacked Vatican II church had turned me into an atheist as a teenager, as it does with 40%!!! of kids who grow up in it and immediately leave. They don't even go to Protestantism, just straight to atheism after graduating school. And I remained an atheist for over 20 years, was even a meeting-going atheist activist for several years. Literally half of the room were former Catholics.
And then after 20 plus years, something happened that got me thinking for a few months. So I came back to Church out of curiosity, willing to maybe consider things further. I went to the same Vatican II church that I had grown up in, and it was just as spiritually dead and awful as I remembered. I went again, just to be sure, still awful. Then I decided to check out a Latin Mass society, the SSPX, just to see what the real Mass was supposed to be like, at least for the experience.
And, lo. I was miraculously converted on the spot, right there after Mass. I had a vision of Jesus, a mystical experience, and He told me something. Then about a minute later, there was an incredibly dramatic public medical miracle that had to do with _exactly what I was just told_ , thus confirming that I was not crazy, and this was all real. What happened is a long story that will probably be up on my channel shortly, but suffice to say that it really put the fear of God in me. Now I'm the biggest Holy Roller in my area, even getting ready to start with the secular, lay branch of the Carmelites.
God had several opportunities to convert me in the Vatican II church when I came back. He didn't. He chose to in an SSPX chapel, where miracles occur. That's where people have the faith, and where people have the faith, that is where Jesus does miracles, as he said in the Gospels. But you will never hear a story like that in a Vatican II church, because that is not the Catholic faith, although there are no doubt still many pious little old ladies and gentlemen left in it, for a while, some of whom are even still Catholic in their beliefs and who are doubtlessly holier than I'll ever be.
Since converting, I have actually continued to have the occasional mystical experience, though mostly minor, and have totally fallen in love with the faith and God, and especially Jesus. And a traditional Catholic Mass (which also has solid orthodox preaching) is as near to Heaven as we can get on Earth, such a sacred wonder. Now, I did actually keep going to the Vatican II church on occasion for a few months after my conversion, when it was hard to travel the distance to a Latin Mass, but it felt so wrong there and only got worse, and incredibly sad, because of the things they do there. And the more I learned about it, the more horrifying it became, until finally it became unconscionable to attend or condone their services under any circumstances, because their "mass" and practices are abominations that have been infallibly anathematized/forbidden/condemned/cursed for all time by many centuries of previous Popes and Church councils, which was universally known and accepted by everyone in the Church. It was forbidden to create or attend such a thing. To top it off, their "masses" involve knowing sacrilege against the Eucharist, followed by desecration of the Eucharist, although most don't realize what they're doing. So I feel confident at this point about never setting foot in one of the Vatican II religion's churches again. And God has not corrected me about it, and oh, does He ever correct me when I get something wrong, lol. He still graciously continues to guide me either subtly or directly, in unambiguous ways, sometimes even in inner mystical experiences/short conversations, because I'm still pretty stupid when it comes to some things and need clarification at times - and if I had come to the incorrect conclusion about the new church and the new mass and what God wanted or what was at least acceptable to Him, I would have heard about it by now, given how often I go off on the subject. Not to mention that I was actually told once what to do when a Latin Mass isn't available, which happened to me once. But these days I make any sacrifice to go to an actually Catholic church, that holds the true faith and that gives God the true worship that He designed, that He is due, and that He has commanded.
If you do go the traditional route, eventually you'll face persecution from the World, but you'll get it right now from the World's new ally, the Vatican II church - just like Christ said. Also just like the Book of the Apocalypse said. Because that is where we are, friend. You and I got saved at the last minute. If you do end up going with the new church, I still wish you the best and will pray for you, and I hope that you will still take the time to learn about the differences between the true Catholic faith and the true Mass versus the new religion, which denies many of the most central, core, fundamental beliefs of the faith and basically makes their entire religion pointless and redundant with others. Actually, you know what? You've already been gifted with a sort of mystical experience. And you're still new, and Heaven seems to be extra generous in guiding newbies in clear, impossible to mistake ways, while one still doesn't know much yet and is still flailing about trying to find their way, so long as you get in the habit of praying much and asking. If I were you, I would just pray about it, and I'll tell you exactly where you will get your answer. Adoration. Go to an Adoration Chapel, which is a special chapel where a Eucharist is displayed on a small altar, in a beautiful and fancy golden holder called a monstrance. Just call the secretary for any kind of Catholic church whatsoever and ask them if they know where the nearest church is that has an actual Adoration Chapel, which might not be close, unfortunately. Don't let them talk you into going to regular Adoration inside the main church itself. Many churches have occasional Adoration in the actual church, on the main altar where they hold mass, but you don't want that. What you want is an actual Adoration Chapel that is a separate chapel just for Adoration alone.
Then you go sit with Jesus for a while, because He really is there. He's literally right there with you, and you can talk to Him and pray and just be with Him, and it's the best thing on the planet. That is where He answers prayers more than anywhere else, and sometimes even talks back to people, though not every time. Mind you, talking back can have several forms, sometimes directly via an inner mystical experience involving words, but more often in a thought or image or idea or understanding that didn't come from you, or sometimes in some external sign there. Spend a good hour with Him at least, and you will most likely get whatever guidance you need. I will bet on it, because you are new and have already been gifted. Just make sure you actually talk to him via praying and ask what He wants you to do or whatever else you need to ask. Don't just sit there daydreaming about baseball, make sure you are focused on Him. Good luck, God bless.

Thank you, this helped me a great deal today. As someone who grew up in a home where there was sadly a lot of violence, abuse, and trauma (not a sob story, just, what happened. Some one needed to be born in that life, and I'm honoured that God felt I was up for the job) , I am often confused about how to live life. How and what to think and say and act. I become confused and want to 'get it right', and of course, this person says this, that person says that, and of course so many want to passionately tell you why all the other people are getting it wrong. This was a helpful reminder that I can trust God, and trust the words of Jesus. That I can be humble in knowing that I know only a little.

This is a reply to “tell us more about Christopher”…..He was 30 years old and had been in the Army for 13 years……died as SFC Christopher Boynton. Started out as a medic and then switched to EOD (explosives ordinance disposal) - in other words the bomb squad. He was deployed to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once. He was not the same after Afghanistan. He was a hero in every sense of the word. We received letters and accolades about his ability to calm his men with his smile during tense moments, show up by a soldier’s side in a ditch who had just fallen and wounded himself seriously. He was able to reassure this soldier that he did not “let his brothers down” by getting injured and stayed with him as he cried with Chris. I was told that “Afghanistan became a safe place because of what Chris did there” - you can imagine my deep, deep sorrow when things erupted in Afghanistan and it is no longer a safe place. Chris was funny, silent, wise and said to his Dad after his baby died……”I learned in Afghanistan that nothing else matters except love”. This is his legacy, not tragedy……….LOVE! Thank you for asking✝️♥️🕊

I really enjoy your way of explaining Jesus’ LOVE which was Theresa’s catalyst and driving force and she simply loved Him right back. A beautiful exchange like arrows from His heart to hers and back again which she showed not only by words and adoration but by deeds, doing His Will! No one can go wrong this way because despite Crosses and hardships, TRUSTING in Him will always sustain us because He returns our trust with Graces. And then there is peace and joy in our hearts within the Crosses and hardships. Just constantly tell Jesus you love Him and trust Him (even if you don’t “feel” it because it’s not feelings but a decision of your will to love and trust) and ask Him how you may serve Him. You should also tell Him that you open your heart to Him and ask Him and Mom to clean it out any obstacles that are keeping you from truly loving and following Jesus. Believe me, They cannot resist such a prayer and They WILL clean you out making you aware of things you never realized you were bottling up inside. All along opening your heart even more and by cleaning it out They do not leave it empty. No! They fill it with Their LOVE. In fact you should ask Them to do so. And then tell Them that you wish to share Their LOVE with others. They will then lead you to new adventures! So wondrous and beautiful. Do not have expectations. Just TRUST!

I was an atheist at one point and the moment I decided not to be it was because I noticed that among my heroes and influences, those who were believers in some higher power were full of love and joy toward others, while those who were self proclaimed atheists had a kind of bitterness and disparaging way toward others. It occurred to me that if I wanted to be generous of spirit, I had to begin by believing in God and practicing the discipline of some kind of religion. I’ve been very blessed since that time, and only deeply sad I didn’t do it at a younger age. Everything said here, I can affirm.

Everything is a grace, everything is the direct effect of our Father's love - difficulties, contradictions, humiliations, all the soul's miseries, her burdens, her needs - everything, because through them, she learns humility, realizes her weakness. Everything is a grace because everything is God's gift. Whatever be the character of life or its unexpected events - to the heart that loves, all is well.

From what I remember of myself, and the children I've known, children trust and love unconditionally. To those they know and love, they readily forgive. They don't know any different, and so, they accept conditions, however spartan -- it is enough for them to be with their family. And they share freely. Children also remember God, and can see spirit, angels. They are pure of corruption. They have no carnal desires. They find joy and wonder in Nature, in God's Creation. They are curious to learn. They are not helpless blobs. They communicate, and understand on a visceral, immediate level. This is also what Christ meant.

I'd attend mass with them, wars were fought over the essence of Communion, but it was no problem I'd just return to my room and take Communion as a Protestant after confessing my sins before the Lord. I had a deep sense that the Lord was pleased, as Sister Alma would sing," We are all the same 🍞 bread." God's way is higher than man's way.. we separate ourselves not God. He loves us all and is accepting why can't we be? This is a true story. New Mexico is called the "Land of Enchantment" for a reason, cultures have lived together in peace for years. I think its good to think of the saints in regards to how they see us as God does. We are babies to them. Literally! Imagine looking down on the earth from heaven, 1500 years old, and seeing someone die at 50. Thats like a baby to you now .
I think one of the most important ways the saints have done this , in a sort of visionary form, is just providing for us in the earth. The storehouse of the saints here on earth. Like, heres their cathedral and you can have it. Like a dad giving his car to his son.

Try to be good in God's ways instead of our ways. You got no hope. In fact we call Gods ways cruel - no divorce, no abortion, no contraception, no same sex marriage, way of the cross, etc etc. Not in a pink fit could we ever know God's ways let alone know they are good and necessary. It's not in our nature. I learned a long time ago if I want to follow Christ I cant do it without Him. It's not in my nature. My nature says yes to all the above because it seems to be the good for our nature. But God calls us to a higher life, not this fallen one, so we need to stop fighting for this one. Very counter-intuitive.
