With all the worries about blocking light with shutters, cutrains etc, I think it would be a game changer for Bonnie to learn how central Europeans simply seamlessly install a box full of rolled up shutters in the wall above a window. You can roll them down electronically or by pulling on a string. They are completely black out and perfect for keeping our the heat in the summer.
They are simply the best! We were unfortunately not able to install them inside the wall, so they hang outside, but the look like part of the window framing if you don’t look too closely.
Staircase is beautiful but overall I agree with other comments that it’s just not practical. The bed looks difficult to get into and not installing storage and a fridge at the bar are a huge miss.
I really like how the terra cotta tiles repeats though out the home but in different patterns- BRILLIANT! An that stair case..iot is like a work of art-WOWSA! And gorgeous high end light fixtures (the outdoor light!)!
This is stunning beyond dreams all the way from Baltimore. A true dream come true for that family. They do the most incredible work as a team. They always leave me stunned and at all. I can’t wait to buy a home
This was incredible. That digging down, underpinning with two levels above; and the flood mitigation through the air gap 🙌🙌 I did love the old stairs…and art deco bathroom. I hope they went to architectural salvage and live on in another home. I love the really beautiful sculptural organic elements of the double stair case, and viewing windows for the owners, as they go up and down. I love the lines you have created on the ceilings on the second level…the lines of other sympathetic elements; and the height in the entrance. Beautiful choices in that truly multipurpose entrance, guest, pool room, lounge and bar.
Wow! Very very impressive transformation and maximisation of an unusable space into such a beautiful area. So loved it all! The staircase to die for - the divine curving shape and the artistic ‘anchoring’ ends - masterful. And most importantly all the attention to water proofing. Can’t ever underestimate that! I have loved all your Three Birds projects but this one takes the cake!😍🙌👏
❤ the staircase flows like Art Nouveau!!! I have the same round mirror in my hallway that you used in the bathroom!!! I feel the drama that the sofa creates. Always a fan of your God given talents!!!❤
I was about to have an anxiety attack and then this popped up, thank you so much for your calming and inspiring series, I'm loving the house so so much xx
Pool house is exactly what I thought, too. I love the built-in, curvy countertops and day-bed but they’re SO impractical because you gave neither of them storage! The whole room is just a solid object and you can’t put anything away. Not even at the bar, which should absolutely have a cabinet beneath it….. no area for a nightstand, no drawers beneath the bathroom vanity….. you’re going to be looking at clutter 24/7.
I agree. There should be under bed storage and outlets. At minimum that area needs a wet bar with a mini fridge, considering there will be traffic to and from the pool.
Ladies you are absolutely the best.. you are all so talented. You also have a great team of trademen who work on your projects, their work is just terric. Attention to detail on every house is super.
Fantastic & the stairs are divine - amazing work & results! I'm loving the James Hardie board details & we've decided to go for that on the exterior of our renno & now I can see you can use it for ceilings, I think that would be great for the new living/dining room as it's slightly raked - BUT, now to find it near us in Tassie! Went looking for it today & had no luck where it was supposed to be stocked!! Cheers, ladies & thanks for sharing. your inspirational ideas.
It's all gorgeous, but wouldn't it make sense to have closed off the basement living space, including the lounge from the foyer? That way if someone is staying downstairs, people aren't seen walking through to get upstairs.
I've found this house super beautiful but not as practical as the others. All I can see is kids dropping bags at the door because the storage is on the other side of the room. And feeling like your walking through the guest room as you walk inside.
Imagine staying in someone's house trying to lie in a bit while everyone traipsing up the stairs or hanging out in the living space... That curtain won't cut it... Or having a poo while everyone sits on the other side. Let alone when those parents visiting get older and can't climb into the daybed. It is beautiful though, and I love the stairs!!
This house also doesn’t lend to living…it seems like a showcase home where you pick what you like….also the fact that it’s not Mallorcan at all has been driving me nuts. I love the finished product but it isn’t a topper for me. I’m just happy they are back…missed the episodes…just not in love with this house. No hate you’re all so talented.❤
I agree with everything mentioned here. I have to add, imagine cleaning this house and all of these open spaces, nooks and crannies.. it would drive me nuts. Also, the lack of storage . Where does one hide a vacuum cleaner, cleaning products etc? In the upstairs bathroom the space under his and hers vanity is too small in my opinion. All in all, beautiful house for looking and for a magazine, but practically a fail… might i add, does not resemble Mallorca at all, it lost the touch it had from the beginning. Sorry three birds, love your work but this one isn’t it😕
Love these ladies …..their vision is such an amazing talent…..wish I could have them come and advice me maybe an invite for afternoon tea door always open ladies 🤗🌷
I don't know what I enjoy more. The 30,000 litres of off-white paint in every room, or the obnoxious royalty free music on full blast which makes you want to throw the surround sound system out the window.
Flooring, walls, staircase and bathroom absolutely gorgeous. The interior choices OMFL ❤❤❤ But too many curves, and furniture pieces that are stuck to walls forever. the daybed is to die for, as a guest bed nope. People want to hop out on either side to use the gorgeous bathroom. That’s going to be the busiest guest room/front entrance/ mud room/ pool room/ entertainment for any guest. Still amazing interior but not very practical 😢 Still top birds in my books ❤
This house is not practical at all. Missed opportunity for it to be like a self contained little guest quarters with a kitchenette and lots of storage.
Ah, really would’ve put a wall of some kind between the entrance and the seating area, I imagine it could end up being really uncomfortable for any guests, no storage, your sleeping area is just a thoroughfare. But I believe you would’ve consulted with the owners about this and they will have approved - so if it suits them, who am I to say it’s wrong!
At this point I am wondering why a renovation and not a new build. They have demolished pretty much the entire house, including the roofing... The only thing they saved was a folding door and two windows 😂
nice but impractical.... you can put a maximum of two people in such a large space... and two married people, because who else would squeeze on that one bed....not at all for two elderly people.....
"who wouldve thought that would stop me" ICONIC i love her!!!!!

That staircase is absolutely stunning!! The curves in the walls, the curves in the railing---fantastic from planning to those who executed it.
Wow, that digging into the earth…while supporting…you guys are brave.
Yep totally agree.

the window covers for the arched windows drive me nuts. it looks like a commercial building

I’m glad the really rough render up the stairs was smoothed over for the final products.

I wish i had the money to engage with fab architects and designers to renovate a house.
Don’t we all.
The ensuite bathroom mirror is STUNNING! Please, where did you get it from?!
Hi Angela, it's from Merci Maison and is the Alexia Mirror in Black. xx
On a side note, what is Bon wearing? I love that shell dress and also the pink one. Thanks!
Super schoen
Wow!
Can you link where you find your art work! Gorgeous as always
It is a Lucinda jones print, my work :)

What is the name of the white you used on the walls?
Thank you 🙏

This is gorgeous. How did you get the limestone/ white wash outdoor wall look?

They explained it in first video.
It’s an easy way to get around new council regulations!

The wall tiles in the bathrooms seems like a major miss. the big grey "marble" rectangles seems so dated
What is the wall colour of basement please
Hi Manoj, it's Dulux White Dune Qtr. xx
