If I have the Deity D3 Pro connected directly to the camera, will it turn off when I turn the camera off, and then turn on when I turn the camera back on? (without me pushing any buttons?)
Just ordered a D3 Pro last night, stoked to get it! Been using a boomed Rode VideoMicro for about a year and a half, and it’s starting to get a bit hissy (I’m not particularly gentle with it, so that’s probably why lol), so decided to upgrade rather than just replace it :)
That’s awesome! You’re gonna love it!
Hmm would you recommend this over the Azden SMX-30??
Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with the azden
Hey is it the camera and mic?
Hi Dunna. Would you say this mic is better than rode pro+? I find the pro+ great but little annoying in crowded places as it picks up a lot of background chatter. What do you think?
Unfortunately, I don’t have a pro+ to test it against but based on my tests against the videomic pro, I prefer the sound of this one. I have had good luck of it just picking me up and blocking out traffic and other noises around me, but I would have assumed the pro+ to do that well too.
I like how straight forward you give your information and lots of tips on how to use mics! Eyeing for that kind of setup for my interviews! Thank you! 😁
Thanks so much for saying that! I really appreciate it! If you do get it, I hope you love it as much as I do!
Do you pretty much need the pistol grip and extension cable to be able to use this mic with a boom stand?
Nope, you can use a bunch of adapters and the regular shock mount if you want it has a screw spot on the bottom.
@@dunnadidit awesome. Thank you so much for the response
Thanks for that video! I was almost gonna buy the rode videomic pro+ but I changed my mind!
Nice!
Same lol
I’ve become a real fan of this company! I use the V-lav and the Duo D4 now. I think they’ll be number 1 some day soon the way they’re going! Great ideas and really thinking through the products they create! I was shocked recently when I discovered my v-Lav works with my Canon M50.
Huge thx for this video !!! I didn't want what to choose between Rode & Deity, My feelings was for the DEITY and you confirm that !! And...Thx for your support on insta ;-))
My pleasure! Definitely both great brands but deity has won me over for now. I still own about 10 different rode mics between video equipment and my recording studio. But deity is making some wonderful stuff!
Hey man, I just wanted to say I really appreciate this video. I’ve been in the market for a new mic and after watching this I decided to buy this one. I also got the stand you suggested as well. Moving up from a $28 Takstar shotgun mic is going to be an improvement.
My pleasure! You’re going to love it!!
I might switch to this mic from Sennheiser MKE 440, which does not have auto shut off and is pretty big and wide. D3 pro sounds really clean and detailed and I LOVE the auto shut off feature! I accidentally leave the Sen on all the time. Rode VMP is awful. It's a muffled, lo fi mic, boosted on the low end to make it sound "warm" and "rich" but it is just blunt and lacks detail. They should consign that design to the scrap heap. Great review, thanks.
I’ve been loving the deity mics. I’ve even been using the D3 lately (as opposed to the d3 pro) and it sounds amazing and also has the auto off feature (the d3 pro is actually more of an auto standby where as the d3 turns right off.)
Either way, you’re getting fantastic sound.
@@dunnadidit D3 might be adequate for me now. I'm a little concerned about the internal battery failing in the pro. I'd like to hear more comparisons to other mics, but there are very few to compare to in the on camera class. My MKE 440 isn't even a shotgun, though that actually works pretty good for the stuff I do. Comparing to longer XLR shotguns may not be fair, but I am very curious. Having listened to a lot of mic comparisons, my current dream shotgun is Sanken CS1e, but it's very expensive and not much of an on camera option. But I'd really like to hear a shoot out with some top shelf mics like that anyway. Cheers.
Yeah It would be helpful for sure to get some of those shootouts. If I can get my hands on more I will do that for sure but all I have around is the rode and deity stuff that I use regularly.
Thanks for the review bro! I’m really thinking of getting this one over the rode mic pro + sounds better to me! Should be great for my vlogs over my Takstar mic I have now 😂
My pleasure dude! Glad you found the video helpful!
Thanks for the review & tips on positioning the mic. This is my 1st mic purchase, & got it for doing instructional videos.
Nice!!
Just ordered this mic honestly can't wait to create magic with this mic
this is going to sound reasonably bizarre but the way your mouth moves when you speak is so similar to Peter Mckinnon, perhaps you two are related
Haha we’re both Canadian, about the same age... it could be 😆
It's when he says about and the hand gestures
Ryan Thomas - I don’t know what you’re talking aboot
@@dunnadidit great video though bru
i was going to say they're both canadian but Dunna already beat me to it :)) hear their "about' is pronounced 'ebout' not 'abaut' like americans :D
Hey Dunna, do you add any sort of audio effects to your dialogue in post production?
As is the @Dunna way....an excellent in-depth review. Just been sent a D3 Pro to review and work with. Looking forward to hearing how it sounds!!
Awesome!!
@@dunnadidit Are you still using it, Bro or have you moved on? Just curious...
@@TrueNorf still use it all the time! My most recent 2 videos used it!
@@dunnadidit Yesss......Sweet....Any post processing or as is? Tell me there is post..! 😁
A whole bunch of post processing lol. My full time job for the past 15 or so years has been an audio engineer so I never leave anything alone haha.
I have definitely been looking into getting one of their microphones. That stepless gain knob seems pretty vital for getting the most out of a DSLR/Mirrorless.
I dont know why I never thought to remove the foam damper when I'm indoors.
Can it be used for effective voice-over work? Thanks for a great review.
It’s not the perfect VO mic but it would definitely get the job done. The biggest downside is that you just need something to plug it into to record and for VO work usually you’d want an xlr mic for that.
@@dunnadidit Thank you. Totally understand. Also looking at the Synco Mic D-2 as an option. Wouldn’t go atop my camera but perhaps a boom pole or fixed in my studio. Thanks again!
Hair is lookin' fresh! 😃👌
Thanks brother!!
seconded, looks fantastic
Aww shucks 😊
Man that Deity sounds so good, but this video actually made me feel better about my Rode Video Micro, because while the quality wasn’t as good, it still sounds Pretty great with some overall post processing, and for a fraction of the cost of the mic pro or even the deity.
Totally! I still use my video micro super regularly, and for anyone on a budget I would still suggest it... ALTHOUGH! I’m yet to try the smaller, simpler D3 (not pro). That might be my new budget recommendation once I get to try it😁
Why didn't you do a distance test? Put each mic at a particular distance so we can hear the sensitivity? 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, 5ft, 6ft? Meanwhile, great video!! Thanks! Subscribed!
I’ll keep that in mind for next time I do a microphone review!
Dunna Did It Please do! This would always be helpful! Thank you so much! 👍
Dunna Did It Please do! This would always be helpful! Thank you so much! 👍
Hey Dunna, great video, thanks for the info. Can you help me with the best settings to have my D3 pro mic on for indoor headshot recording like in your video? What number gain did you have the mic on in this video and what do the 75Mhz and 150Mhz actually mean, should I use them fir this kind of filming? Thanks in advance. Dan.
Generally, I’ll set my camera microphone input to a few steps away from as low as it will go, then check the microphone by setting the dial until the sound that I’ll be recording makes the meter go about 3/4 of the way up(“check one-two... check one-two”). The 75hz and 150hz roll off stop super low frequencies (bass) from being recorded, generally, the human voice doesn’t go below these frequencies so most of the time we don’t need them, it would just be wind or the rumble of vibrations or air conditioners. If someone has a super low voice, use 75. If not, 150
Dunna Did It thanks for your help, it’s really appreciated.
OK... sounds and appears to be the business. As ever, i have to ask about devices with rechargeable internal batteries...are they replaceable once they stop taking charge?
That’s a great question Tim! Unfortunately I don’t know that one off the top. I’ll dig into that and see what I can find out for you.
this video helps a lot to make a choice which microphone I should buy ...
thanks for taking time to make this video, anyway, nice hair style. :)
That’s great to hear! I’m glad it helped! And thanks for the nice comment about my hair!
Wow I like it, this guy is awesome and he was among the mentors that made me open my own channel.
Thanks Ahmad! That’s so wonderful to hear!
DAAAAANG! I need this guy! Sounds friggin KILLLER!
Pretty nice hey!?
I bought one Deity V-Mic D3 ( as it is small ) to use on my "dinky run and shoot " Sony FDR AX 700 ( bl... nice Camera) , ...... it sound not bad ...but is very sensitive , I had to bring the record level down in the Camera from max 30 to 12 , Mic is very , very sensitive for wind the supplied foam doesn't do the job , so after some testing and ingenuity etc .... I ended up in making my own windjammer and also on top of it a Dead cat as well ,
also " block the back of the Mic " with a cover it picks up wind as well from the back .....it works much , much better now ...Deity should do more homework in the Wind problems ......further it's not a bad Mic .
and good value for $$$
Yeah that mic is definitely sensitive... which usually is good because camera preamps suck so getting more level from the mic instead of the camera makes for a cleaner sound. As far as the wind foam... I have never found any of those supplied foam things to do a good job... on ANY mic I've ever had lol. I always buy a proper windshield. Thanks for your thoughts!
Great review. I'm gonna have to check into this mic a little more. Great video as always.
Thanks so much! Definitely worth a bit of research to see if it makes sense for you!
Thanks for the information. It's quite helpful for my next microphone purchase.
Thanks for watching!
Just bought one to pair it with my Zoom recorder. Sound is more important while filming in my opinion so I sacrifice some money for this😂
According to your video you suggest the record source (camera or external recorder) to be at 0 or 1 input instead of 5-6 and the recorder to be at 5-6 etc?
Will the sound be clearer if you boost the mic instead of the external recorder?
I'm totally begginer in sound
What I was saying in the video is that you want to have the recording device input level set as low as possible and use the volume of the microphone. So I’ll set my camera or external recorder on 1 and then crank up the volume on the mic if possible.
Nice. I'll try that .
Thanks!
Thank you for the good review. Does the D3 Pro have a digital output from the USB-C interface? Or is it just for power. I can't find that info and when I plug it into a relatively modern macbook it doesn't come up as a digital mic device . . . so I'm guessing it does not :(. TY
Nice! I like the clarity in the audio. What I didn't realise is that one should use amplification on the mic. I always thought the less preamp the better. Am I wrong?
Generally, the amp on the mic is better than the preamp on the camera. That’s one of the reasons people like the rode video mic pro so much. It’s got a nice hot output from the +20 so you can turn down the input level. Some cameras are better than others though.
@@dunnadidit thanks for replying. Isn't the amp in the mic also a preamp like one in the camera? I always thought that any amplification is a bit destructive and so there should be as little of it as possible. Audio isn't really something I know much about so I always approach it with an assumption that the less noise I record the better the end result is going to be and less work I am going to need to put in.
I have always struggled to record good audio because its hard to find a proper guide to equipment and its usage in specific situations.
It is! But the earlier you can introduce gain, the less noise you’ll get. Every piece of gear in the Cain has some kind of noise that they are putting onto the signal. So for example, let’s say the mic has 2db of noise(I made this number up out of nothing) and you want your signal to be 10db in the end. If you only record the signal at 3db, the noise is still 2db and when you get it into software and turn it up to where you want it, you’ll have 10db of signal and 9db of noise since you started with only a 1db difference. If you record 10db of signal and 2 dB of inherent noise from the mic, then you don’t have to turn it up (in the mic or in software) so the noise stays at 2db.
*these numbers are just made up and the math makes no sense from an actual dB scale but it just made it more simple to explain.
I hope that helps... actually, deity has a great UA-cam channel and I believe they have a good video on “gain staging” as it’s called. Check that out if you can!
@@dunnadidit thanks! I appreciate your help.
My pleasure!!
Great video, I purchased the Rode VideoMicro recently and it's not a bad microphone but I noticed after shooting with it I had to do some work to the audio in post. A friend recommended I check out the Deity microphones for better sound quality and from your video it really looks like the Deity V-Mic D3 Pro is the way to go for studio shooting. I do agree with you for run and gun outdoor shooting the Rode Video Micro just for the small form factor and ease of use while on the go seems the better way to go vs the Deity V-Mic D3 Pro. Just not sure if the Rode V-Mic D3 would be a better option. I heard some sound tests and it sounds really good, just seems a little bigger for traveling. I'm trying to keep my on the go kit as small as possible for convenience and ease of use.
I just got the D3 a few days ago, it’s MUCH smaller, and sounds just as good! It’s awesome. It’s missing the dedicated battery and the volume controls but it’s still such a solid choice! Highly recommend that one if you’re trying to keep your kit small.
@@dunnadidit in comparison to your Rode VideoMicro to your new Deity V-Mic D3. Do you think you are going to use the D3 more now versus the Rode VideoMicro?
Thanks for the Microphone Audio Review! Great video. I am looking into get one to start my Vlog and my UA-cam Channel. Thanks and looking forward to more videos.
Thanks so much for watching!
I've had a Deity D3 Pro for almost a year now and am loving it over my bigger, more expensive shotgun mics. Super compact, internal battery and great audio. I'm not super excited about the mount, however. So I'm using a Rode SM3 shock mount, which I've had for over 12 years now.
Thats good to know! What is it about the shockmount you don't like?
@@dunnadidit It transmits too much noise from my hand interactions with my camera, you know, the small bumps and whatnot. It's not that it's a bad shock mount, but the SM3 eliminates all noise completely. I noticed this review is from May, do you still love and use the D3 as much?
Interesting! I've never had that problem with the handling noise, good to know! Yes I'm still loving it and I recently got the D3(not the pro) as well and I've really been loving that as well!
How much has the internal battery degraded over time? How many times have you recharged it?
I’ve had no issues with battery. I’ve probably charged it like 4 times in all this time that I’ve had it. And I always charge it before it gives me any kind of indication of low battery because I’m paranoid.
Fantastic review Dunna👏
Thanks a ton! Glad you enjoyed it!
Just ordered one with the location kit. I'm guessing they didn't make a larger case which would also fit the pistol grip.
Unfortunately the pistol grip floats around outside the case.
Great comprehensive review!
Thanks a ton!
Thank you for the information. I’m learning a lot about features I might want and those that I may not need. Do you have a recommendation for someone who wants to capture environmental sounds of birds in the jungle areas of Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil and less interested in vlogging? I am looking to pair it with a Nikon Z9 and don’t know much about the pre amp set up with that camera brand.
Can it also be used to record on a camera (Olympus EM 1 mrk II) for guitar playing? I'm looking for a easy way to record some guitar pickings.
Do you lose any of the mic fonctions by using an extension cable that is not TTRS? (Like the auto ON/OFF...) Thanks and great job for the video it was really helpful :D
Nope!!
I know it's a old video but my friends have this mic and we went filming with the dead cat and as much wind in the lake I was surprised it stand up the audio was good you cud hear us talking with no problem so far I like this mic picks up well around your surroundings.not bad I got this mic for $50 from Facebook market.iam content in 2023
I got mine for 150 and it is so great!
Nice!
How can I get similar SOUND with the Rhode Micro? It’s the one I have! How can I connect to my computer as well!? Thank you!! Great video!
I loved the video and also loved how you responded to basically every comment here. True commitment there. I'm getting started professionally in filmmaking and am currently doing music videos (voiced over so no out-of-camera mics are necessary) and hopefully promotional content for local businesses in the future. For these scenarios, I am looking for a (maybe) shotgun microphone for recording b-roll (for music videos and promotional) and for interviews (indoor and outdoor). What would you say would be the most versatile solution for my dilemma? Not sure if you know Caleb from DSLR Video Shooter, but he says that something from the Deity series would be his (and is his) boom mic of choice. Contradicting this, Parker Walbeck made a video comparing the Deity S-Mic 2 to the RODE NTG-3, and both he and I thought the RODE sounded better. Do you have the RODE? What's your experience with it or would you recommend something completely different? Stay safe, and thanks again for the video.
I highly recommend both the rode and deity stuff. The deity ntg has a bit more low end boost which is why a lot of people prefer it. But the deity I find to be a bit more natural sounding. Hope that helps a bit!
@@dunnadidit Thanks for the response. I agree with you: Booth Junkie made a video comparing the S-mic 2 to the 416 and - with some eq in post - they sounded almost identical (to my ear). I just went for the S-mic 2 and hopefully, it will last me a while into the future.
And Dunna did it Again. 🤙🏼
I keep didding it!
Thanks so much for sharing! This video was super helpful. Re: the boom, I saw there are a couple of options in black on Amazon. Can you confirm which version you bought, the one that is $55.99 or the $69.99 version? Thanks again.
On the deity compatibility list, they tell you that you meed a trs cable if you want to use this mic with a fuji xt3. But I can't find such a calbe. Do you know what to get (on Amazon). Great video btw.
I believe that the cable that it comes with is a trs cable. But I would reach out directly to deity and ask. They’re very helpful!
4 years later do you still use it? How's the battery holding up?
Hey man - great video! Can you give me a piece of advice, please: what XLR microphone you'd recomend for Zoom H4N. I need it for streamin' an' recordin' some podcasts (reasonable price for me +\- 200 €)
If it's just for voice work, go with the rode nt1-a! Thats what I use for my streams. Great mic.
@@dunnadidit thx!
Thanks! I’m thinking of getting this for my DSLR. Upgrading from a Rode VideoMicro. I’ve been looking around for a furry windjammer but can’t see much out there. Do you have a recommendation? Cheers.
Oops! You answered my question at the end of the video. Thanks!
Bam! I love it!
Seems like a good alternative to Rode. Thank you, really informative video :)
It definitely is! Thanks for watching Anja!
Yes
Should I use 75 hz audio filter or 150 outdoor on windy days?
What camera and lens do you use for the blog?
I like using my a6400 and the 16-35 f4
Thanks so much for the great professional video, I have this microphone, I have no idea what are the 75HZ and 150HZ on top, when I use each?
Also I bought RSC2 (DJI gimbel) when I try to ballance it with the microfone, it got stuck, do you have a solution for this?
Thanks for the review! Quick question: will an audio interface with phantom power run the mic without having to charge? (assuming I have the d-xlr adapter)
As far as I'm aware, phantom power wont do much for you on this mic.
Too conspicuous?? Throw it on a boom arm and hit the streets! Go big or go home!
Good video, sir. I got another one for your master idea list: unless I've missed it in your library, how about a "Dunna the Sound Guy" BTS video? Not quite a VLOG, but more of a day in the life of your main gig (side gig? the way you pay the rent?) Have Matti add it to his new series. You're like the Jesse Driftwood of the West, right? ;)
Haha of it’s gonna be big, we might as well make it bigger right?!
I would love to do something like that, I’ve always felt like the best way for that to happen would be for someone else to do it so maybe if Matti wants to come hang out for a bit 😉.
Also, yes, the music producer thing is the main bill paying gig for sure.
Thanks, Just what I was looking for, Too bad they do not include the case anymore, but not a deal breaker since they now give you the dead cat.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the great review 😊
I just connected my brand new V-Mic D3 Pro to the back of the Zoom H4n ('EXT MIC' input) using the supplied TRRS cable. I turned on the Plugin-Power in the Zoom, turned on the microphone (green light is on). I'm trying to record, but nothing. No audio. I wonder if you know what did I do wrong with the Zoom...
Thanks,
Edo
Hey! With the h4n, it could be a couple things. First of all you have to make sure that the input is selected properly since you could be selected on the xlr inputs. You can click the little button to select it and it should turn red. Then you also have to hit the record button once to start monitoring the input. Then when you hit it again it will start recording. Hope that helps.
What is the purpose of the button on the Deity Pro that has an option of 75 and 150? Is it necessary to turn it on?
It’s call a high pass filter. It will filter out all the bass at either 75hz and lower or 150hz and lower. This is great for getting rid of the rumble of an ac unit or traffic. Or if you’re somewhere where the bass might be overwhelming.
what sigma you was using to shot this specific video? i'm buying the deity )
I'm pretty sure I shot this with the sigma 30mm f1.4

Hi! Newbie here. Just got my new Deity D3 Pro. What is the best setting for Gain at the other end of the mic? Are there factors to consider when setting the gain up?
Generally, set your camera level as low as it will go and then use the gain on the mic to achieve optimal volume (hitting about 3/4 of the way up the meter)
@@dunnadidit Thanks a lot for helping! Do you mean the R and L thing in the camera?
Yup! There should be a little meter that bobs up and down (or left and right) when you make sounds in front of the mic. Generally you want that somewhere around three quarters of the way up for regular volume sounds. This gives a little bit of room in case something louder happens.
Hi thanks for the video but I can’t figure out how to use the d3 pro with my M1 macbook . The jack fits but it’s not working. Do I need an attachment?

An enquiry about D3 Pro:
Is the USB port only for the charging purpose or it can be used as USB mic on computer?
As far as I’m aware, it’s just for charging.
I heard you can use it as a USB mic. I just snagged a D3 Pro so I could try it out!
@@TalKissos Thanks, I await your experiment & experience.
Long shot: for mics that do not have the built in hpf, does anyone make an inline 3.5 mm capacitor type low freq cutoff like what’s used in an inexpensive cross-over device? It would be handy to cut wind noise and rumble in run and gun video with a small rode on a phone or camera.
Hey bro! What type of extension cable are you using from the mic to sony a7iii? Thanks for your feedback.
Hey! I use the rode VC1 10’ extension. I found that other extension cables had some issues with connectivity, adding noise and some other things but the rode one works well.
Here’s a link for it: geni.us/OnQq (affiliate link)
@@dunnadidit Thanks. Rode VC1 is currently out of stock here in Philippines. How about the SC1 which is TRRS to TRRS? Also is the D3 Pro can use as a external mic on a laptop using a headphone splitter plug-in into headphone-mic input of a laptop? Thanks!
Hmm unfortunately I haven’t tested that so I can’t say exactly what would happen
hey great!
I would like to know your settings. Is the goal to get a low number on internal mic setting in the camera and match that by turning up the level on the mic? Thank you
The goal is to set the camera as low as possible and use the mic to get the volume right. I typically leave my camera on volume setting 1 and just use the mic gain.
@@dunnadidit Thank you! :)
I’m struggling with how to mount an external mic to my camera (A6400 or Gh5) while using a Ronin-S. I use it in underslung mode frequently but it hits the motor. I’m using it at a wedding and go from Aroll to broll with very little time to fiddle with the mic and rebalancing. Any tips or tricks?
That’s a tough one, your best bet might be to try to attach the mic to a friction arm that somehow connects to the handle. I know a lot of newer gimbals have some kind of quarter inch thread for something like a monitor, but you could use it for a mic?
bro you are hilarious!!!! props!
I appreciate that!
The mount has a hot shoe or a cold shoe? I'd say a cold shoe, no?
I wish I knew the thread it has at the bottom. 1/4" I'd guess.
Cold shoe, and it’s a 3/8” with a 1/4”-20 adapter in it.
Hey is it just the mic or the camera too?
I’m not sure what you mean?
@@dunnadidit Like was it just the mic or the mic and the camera. When looking it looks like the camera and mic.but dont wanna spend hundreds on a mic.
Yeah it’s just the microphone. Cameras are generally significantly more expensive than that.
one of the biggest difference between V-Mic D3 Pro and rode video mic pro plus is it's to bassy right out of the box, but can't compalin as it's made for vloggers.
Yeah the rode mics are pretty baddy for sure. That’s one thing I like about the deity. It seems a bit more natural sounding.
@@dunnadidit exactly, will get one soon
is it comparable to lark 150?
Please kindly review Deity V-Mic D3 too (i mean Deity V-Mic D3 not Deity V-Mic D3 pro)
If I do pick one up, I definitely will review it! Probably do a comparison between the two.
@@dunnadidit hope to see it soon
@@dunnadidit I'm still waiting to your review d3, Thanks
I’m still waiting to get one! 😁
@@dunnadidit hmm
I’m using it with phone how can I record audio separately then input audio into phone and edit audio on the phone i have the 99 Option without the extras of 199 mic thanks
Does this eliminate the need for a Pre-Amp for a inside stationary set up?
What are you hoping to plug it into?
@@dunnadidit Hey, thanx for responding. I pretty much have things set up but I'm now in the process of learning to use the stuff... very confusing! One of the guys on UA-cam recommended my buying the MixPre-3M II. I have the Diety pro just like yours and I've read about the advanced control. My camera is a Canon EDS Rebel SL3. I haven't figured out "yet" if you can get the cameras to visually show the sound input in order to adjust the Mic. If not, I could always do a sound check thru a head set. My setup is a stationary set up (camera, Mic, lights etc) to do a UA-cam channel. I don't mind buying the mixer ($680) but I don't know if it's necessary, at least for now. Some of these guys are purest and may do more complicated stuff than I'm doing and require the mixer. . I'm taking some online classes now, to do good UA-cam (B roll etc,) so I do understand that editing will eventually make it easier with the extras and if I'm going to end up buying them later, I might as well get used to the stuff as my channel progresses. The money isn't the problem but I don't want to add something that is completely unnecessary... See where I'm coming from? By the way, I really appreciate your feedback and I want to compliment you on your channel and how well you explain things. Thanx -keith
Thanks for clarifying Keith! Sounds like you shouldn’t need anything additional to me. As long as your camera has a microphone input there is usually some way to visually test levels. Unfortunately I’m not familiar with the SL3 interface so I can’t tell you for sure. But generally, you can just plug it into most cameras. Hope that helps!
@@dunnadidit Yes, there is a microphone input. I was hoping you would tell me I didn't need a mixer... makes it much simpler. Thanx, keith
Answered so many of my questions, but a big one i have that hopefully someone here can answer - - can you use an adapter from 3.5 to USB-C for connection direct to a smartphone?
I have lots of experience with audio in the studio and am now just getting into ENG and EFP, trying to find a few good solutions that will work with DSLRs AND with my Galaxy Note 10+.. possible??
THANKS!
Can you use the USB C port as a usb mic?
Is anyone using this with the Sony ZV-1. The compatibility list doesn't have it on but I assumed that it would work.
It should work, unfortunately I don’t have the camera anymore to test it
@@dunnadidit thanks for reply.
Hi can i plug it to the computer to record?
If your computer has a 3.5mm line in then yes!
@@dunnadidit thank you very much for replying me. 2 more questions please , is it compatible with canon m6 mark ii? And when I plug it into the computer, will it use the computer power or i still need to charge it before use? Cheers
can i use it like a USB MIC FOR COMPUTER?
Not that I'm aware of.
not with usb, but with the 3.5 jack plugged in in to a microhpne 3.5 jack of course.
thanks!
My pleasure!
Does it have auto-power on as well as off?
Yes it sure does!
can this microphone used in phone and computer?
Can deity d3 pro used in computer and phone by just plug the included cable in? or we need to used another cable?
I’m not sure, I’ve run into a few situations where this mic doesn’t work because the device you’re plugging it into doesn’t give off the right signal. You’ll have to hit up deity support about that.
Dunna Did It Thank you so much! Can d3 pro use type-c to connect to computer? And is the d3 pro has little problem when auto turn on and off?
First I really thought not wearing a hat was the difference 😂🙈
Haha did you catch the little text pop up?
Dunna Did It haha yes, of course👌🏼 That was my 'Ah, I understand' part 😂😂😂
