I think it was episode 7, which got him the emmy. Not much of a comedic performance but man who cares when he acts THAT fucking amazing. Give the man all the emmys hhhh
So, I'm just now registering that Barry was straight up admitting to Gene that he's a hitman. Considering the lengths he's gone to to keep his secret since this, that's crazy to think.
Season 2 cannot get here fast enough. I've already watched all of the first season 3 times, and I'm not even exaggerating. I need more of this show in my life!
I think Gene is a bullshit artist. He was a therapist before becoming an acting teacher. So he knows the human mind and when someone’s in denial of something. The way he conducts his class is in a lot of ways like cult manipulation. He berates them till they are saying their lines right, and puts them in uncomfortable situations to get an emotional response out of them. Also he gets money from them and often uses his influence and odd charm to keep them in the class to earn more money. Another example of his manipulation is when he lets Sally hit Barry, any teacher would automatically say no and kick Sally out of class, but gene knows this is what he needs to keep Barry in the class and him to express his emotions.
Omg you got Bill Hader and you do this???? This guy is hilarious and you do this deadpan stuff..no no no. We need an SNL movie where he plays all his characters, a comedy crime movie, set in one of Stefons favourite clubs. Kieth Morrison covers the story and interviews everyone. Add Melissa Mcarthy et al. Keep the salaries down, count on the ratings and royalties. It's all in my head.
“The story’s nonsense but there’s something to work with.” That’s hilarious!
Meanwhile Barry is one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long while
This is the scene that got Bill Hader his nomination.
Smashing the mirror (after his stage scene) in the finale episode was quite powerful too.

i always thought it was the scene where he has a breakdown just before going on stage but you're right i think this contributes too
the stage scene where he cries and then the smashing mirror too!! but tbh the WHOLE show got him that nom
An actor acting a role of a soldier that’s trying to be an actor.
Bill insist he's a bad actor. He's wrong
I have never seen anyone earn an Emmy so fast. Phenomenal!
He’s phenomenal, barry is my favorite new show. This show and lodge 49 give me happiness
When Barry still had some humanity. Like. The first couple episodes 😆
"I look forward to this journey"

It's come back to bite him now.
you just realized this now? 😂
For a moment I though Barry would kill him

"wanna know what I'm good at?"
Watch your toes
Why was gene extreme mad at barry on the episode
His acting wasn’t good
You pay in advance
i did it
is it in which part? Please
season 1 episode 1.
How can i get a acting class like barry just asking
Become a hitman first
Get Experience, then audition for that class, look up some good theatre schools

Do you realise that it was basically him who made those series?
do your research before you comment boomer
Melissa McCarthy isn’t funny.
This is the most NPC comment I've ever read in my life lmao.
