Barry is easily my favorite dark comedy in the last several years. Hader is such a phenomenal actor/writer/director that I'd watch 20 seasons of the show.
1:30 the fact that they don't even notice the dogs are barking makes me think they make that much noise all the time. That lady was a champ for sticking through 5 years of that.
He's one of the guys who does the podcast about gadgets that don't work, and he loses his fingers to what I assume is a tiny gun, which doesn't work There isn't much comedy S3 onwards, but it's so good and subtle when you notice it
The martial arts champion father trained his daughter to be a bad ass with martial arts. When she gets older and started dating, the first boy that she says no to that won't respect her will be in for the beating of his life.
The narcissism or bpd and extreme need for their egos/validation and to feel normal, and their attempts at being normal or empathetic in all of these characters makes the show very realistic, disturbing and extremely funny. Love this show
I've felt called out by several of the characters' behaviors. I can't imagine just how many interactions Hader has had with people like me to inspire him for writing this show XD

Ronny/Lily is easily the single funniest episode of any TV show I have seen in the last 5 or 10 years. I was in hysterics with tears rolling down my face nearly the whole time. The whole thing is a masterpiece.

It just doesn’t have that suprise factor on a second watch, so yeah whilst it’s still a great episode, nothing beats the first time watching it, so memorable
With all the shows that were once great and went on to either disappointing finales or went on too long and got cancelled, I was really happy to get a show like Barry with a proper ending

In real life you'll never leave a Marine behind, all dark humor and nobody is standing up in a firefight however if you're trying to have a Marine act for you on a set the whole thing is him making up stupid jokes and not being serious saying some shit like that.
