What the heck's White Chicks?
I never heard of this film before
I do! Guilty pleasure alongside the haunted House duology!😅😅😅😅
I do!
Can you please review Escape from Cluster Prime, Spongebob Movies, iParty with Victorious, Meet the Robinsons, The Ultimate Enemy, Problem Child 2 and 3, Rugrats Go Wild, and Ducktales The Movie?
Can you please review The Crow, Crow City of Angles (that poor movie suffered the same fate as Cool World) , Power Rangers 2017, and Mortal Kombat 2021?
Terry Crews dancing with glow sticks is one of the greatest things ever put on screen
Where’s Latrell ? On the dance floor 😂
Compared to WW2 footage? Idk.

Terry Crews was told to do improvise when "A Thousand Miles" came on and he decided, in the moment, to groove along with it, resulting in one of the iconic moments of his filmography.
Terry Crews' career took a sharp swerve after this movie. He'd been trying to build a career in action movies, but this film showed off his comic talents and his filmography has since been dominated by comedies.
His life is a running gag
He is really what makes this movie memorable. No offense to everyone else involved in the film but without him I'd never have watched is twice let alone as many times as I have
Terry STOLE the movie with that scene!😂😂😂😂
That scene is hilarious!!!
@@danielsantiagourtado3430 and it got turned into a classic meme!
Terry Crews could play any Disney Princess on live action movie and even when the movie is bad, he's still gonna killing it because he's Terry Crews.
Terry Crews jamming to the violins solidified his place in my heart in 2004, and he still resides there even after all this time.
I never forgot Terry Crews after seeing this movie. He stole every damn scene. Him dancing at the club levels me flat with laughter every single time. 🤣
It's peak comedy!!
1000 miles scene he got it on the first take everytime he is present the movie gets back on track and has energy but when he is gone it's kind of a snore fist
a thousand miles became my theme song back in the day because of Terry Crews
I still try doing that sideways glowstick twist he does on halloween nights 😅
Honestly terry crews is funny guy.
Here in Brazil, this movie is actually HUGE! I don't know why, but its humor just hits different to Brazilians. Many of its scenes have become part of our culture and are still widely quoted to this day, and, alongside Everybody Hates Chris, it cemented so much Terry Crews as an icon that he even learned Portuguese just so he could greet his Brazilian fans
So awesome
Sabia que um Br ia comentar kkkk
So what you are saying is that Alucard didn't even mind control the Rio Hotel Clerk into thinking White Chicks was amazing, he just already thought it was?! Truly horrifying
@@butyoucancallmezyn If that joke wasn't intentional, it sure was an amazing coincidence
The big bad wolf like you missed out again sometimes an hour time😂
This is Shawn and Marlon's magnum oppus! It is an absolute gold mine of just "brain off, mouth open, laugh" that can make me laugh when I'm in a bad mood. Arguably, it's a bad movie but it's my favorite of their films just for consistent laugh I get from the Terry Cruz singing scene.
Arguably?, no, it's a bad movie and no sane human would argue otherwise.
Scary Movies 1 & 2 were better
Little Man is better
@@ninjanibba4259 Haven't seen that. I think I'm too old to find it funny now though. Saw Scary Movie as a little man and it's just so quotable.
@@mitijr2031 you're never too old, give it a try
Every time I hear the “A Thousand Miles” song my mind immediately goes to Terry Crews from this movie.
I always think about the music video of the singer driving a grand piano like it's a car.
Me too
I have to do the "5, 6, 7" countdown one of the girls does in the car 😂❤
Vanessa Carlton was a good 1 hit wonder.
It plays a lot on the radio at work. That image of Terry Crews makes my working day ever so slightly easier 😂
I don't know about the US, but the Latin American dub of this movie became really iconic. Many people know and love this movie in this part of the world (including myself) because of this dub.
Most of Terry Crews' lines from the dub became memes.
Like "La llevare a casa con mama", o "Ella no lo sabe, pero sera mi esposa", o "diablos señorita", o "la decepcion, la traicion amigo"
Yes, in Latin America this has become a cult classic, everyone gets to remember a lot of the scenes. In the US of what I've heard, they only remember Terry Crews character but nothing more, I think it hasn't reached that "cult classic" standard like it did here in Latin America, probably most of the dub, but also because of the cultural issues too.
One of the few cases the dubbed version is better, unlike Across the Spiderverse.....
And yet, there's no uploads of it on UA-cam.
@@TrashQueenAndKing odd, if I type a line like 100 videos pop up. Maybe is a region thing?
You can’t even imagine how popular this movie is in Brazil. Everyone has seen it, everyone laughs at it, it’s constantly referenced and quoted. Also, the Brazilian dub is funnier and lands way more jokes than the original version.
As a black man, I have to say I'm very very happy you gave a review of this movie!!! I respect you for your honest review, also!

Fun Fact: The special makeup effects were created by Greg Cannom, who also did Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) and The Mask (1994).
Yup
That's really cool!!
Oof, guess he got worse over time
How the mighty have fallen
To be fair, if youre trying to make a mask of a skinny womans face and attach it to men with masculine jawlines, im not sure you can do anything about that. Now, mrs doubtfire works well because shes an overweight woman which gives less tightness to the skin and more ability to hide a mans masculine features with well placed fat or jowls
Shawn and Marlon Wayans had to go through extensive makeup processes at the start and end of each shooting day to get in and out of character. During casting, Maitland Ward and Anne Dudek were measured down to minute detail to make sure it was believable that the Wayans could replicate their appearances by adding material to their faces.
Now that's dedication unlike Jennifer Lawrence the first female ever to exist
That's insane!!
They did a really bad job they look horrific like mutant valley girls
That's true plus that make-up took 5 hours a day & that was After they got it downpacked cuz it started with 7
Also, Shawn endured an extra hour of make-up to keep his Goatee
THE Maitland Ward?
chaplin's little cameo during the ad read was great, he's so patient with doug's nonsense 😂 he's like "i have no clue what's going on but i'm glad to be included! i'm chaplin! :D"
Well that's because he's CHAPLIN.
it's a masterpiece.
Im glad Doug's doing classic nostalgia movies again. Id love for him to review Mrs. Doubtfire or Bicentennial Man. For me, those are really nostalgic.

Only time I've ever heard of this movie was in _Hellsing Abridged_ episode 3, where Alucard not only hypnotised hotel clerk saying " _White Chicks_ was amazing", but also made him believe that.
This is still one of my all-time favorite comedies. From the premise to the jokes to the execution - i love it
Chaplin really puts up with everything.
He does not have any thoughts behind those eyes, and I love it.

He's CHAPLIN.
What a wild world 2000's comedy films were
We got the greatest comedy of all time from 2003 (The Room)
And I was born in the 2000's.
And I have seen and experienced some really wild things in that time.
Black people doing white face: HILARIOUS
White people doing black face: RACIST.

@@jeuryrabassa4724 Being born in 2009 doesn’t make you the wise, mature person you think you are.
I remember renting this for a sleepover we where up all night laughing at this good time. One thing I like to add is also this is one of those movies you can put on and still enjoy even years latter.
This movie is simultaneously brilliant and stupid at the same time. I absolutely love this movie. Terry Crews is outstanding and I love him in every scene. And everytime I hear that song, I only envision Terry Crews singing it now. And Terry Crews dancing makes me smile everytime!!! So glad you reviewed this. Thank you.
I remember enjoying this movie when I was crazy younger, I was a kid in the 2000s, they were popping out whatever ideas for a movie like crazy, this was definitely one of those crazy idea from back then.
I was 8 when this came out and yes, it was everywhere for a while.
I remember the commercials and "A Thousand Miles" would get stuck in my head for years as I only associated it with White Chicks. 🤣
Not gonna lie this is a guilty pleasure of mine. The first scene was hilarious
It is for me too!!
Why does it have to be described as a “Guilty Pleasure”?

I remember my cousin put this movie on, and I was there to see it for some reason. Don't know why, I just thought it was... something. Yeah, I'm not going to pretend that this movie is a misunderstood masterpiece. It's clearly not, but it holds a... place in my heart for how odd it is.
As a teen, I hated this film, but as an adult I find it hilarious. Terry Crews cracks me up in this film.
White Chicks is peak 2000s energy, spectacular movie
I MISS these kind of movies, back when nobody got so offended all the damn time!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
@Labyrinth6000 people were but they didn't have social media to make a big deal out of it
Maybe watch the review before commenting
Spectacularly bad😂
There are a lot of movies I LOVED in my teens that, watching them now, just did not age will and I find stupid and completely impossible to sit through. White Chicks is NOT one of those movies. Still to this day one of my absolute favorites. It's so delightfully inappropriate, has a STELLAR cast, is so damn quotable, and is just...funny. And has a lot of iconic scenes! Terry Crews singing "A Thousand Miles" is such a defining moment for such an amazing actor. This was really the film that kickstarted his career. This movie will never get old for me.
Whether you consider White Chicks (2004) a cult classic or not the year 2004 actually gave us quite a few of these comedies which could stand the test of time and are still remembered today like Mean Girls, EuroTrip, Harold & Kumar go to the White Castle, The Girl Next Door. Also, I recognize Jennifer Carpenter, I just saw her recently when I rewatched the Nicolas Cage movie "Seeking Justice (2011)".
2004 was the best year in movies period especially since Shrek 2 and Spiderman 2 were the biggest movies that year
I want Critic to review Eurotrip so much
2004 also gave us Anchorman and Dodgeball.
I gotta say the 2000's had some of the best comedy films i think we've ever seen and really gave comedy a new flavor that made it stand out
Maybe lay off the coke with garbage takes like that.
It's nice to see a comedy film that actually feels like a big time comedy movie again
Meta comedy would prevent to happen again.
Without a doubt one of my favourite comedy movies of all time. Only a few comedies can still make me laugh no matter how many times I’ve seen it and this is one of them.
Anybody who thought this movie was good, are just as dumb as the people in the movie, who falled for the agents in disguise.
Doug's one-liners are the blessing this world needs.
This movie and the first live-action Scooby-Doo movie were my childhood.
You need therapy.
That's more disturbing than if you said you were molested as a child.
That’s too bad.
Oof, painful.

I've been waiting for you to do this review ever since you made a couple of references to it especially in your cat in the hat review and I absolutely loved the video so thanks for making my Wednesday feel a whole lot better ❤❤
fun fact: it taking so long to do the make-up for the characters, is ALSO the reason why there was never a White Chicks 2, even though the Wayans Bros. STILL get asked about a part 2 to this day, Marlon Wayans has said multiple times he does not want to go through that shit again.
I watched this for the first time on the same day as I dislocated my kneecap. It was honestly great to laugh about something while the most painful thing that ever happened to me happened on the same day
Respect on Nostalgia Critic for reviewing White Chicks. That hasn't been last mentioned on the show since he reviewed The Cat in the Hat
Now he needs to do Big Momma House or Madeaa lmao
It's a tricky movie to review, especially if you're not a black reviewer like Korey Coleman from Double Toasted.
The 2000s was the last decade I can think of. Where anyone could basically say whatever the hell they want. Plus the movie is absolutely insane.
👍👍👍👍. Such good times
😊
And I was born in the early 2000's.
And that decade give me plenty of my favorite movies to watch and rewatch:
Spider-Man 1&2,Star Wars Episode III:Revenge Of The Sith,The Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy,Harry Potter Years 1-4,X-Men 1&2,Blade II,Batman Begins,The Dark Knight,2 Fast 2 Furious,Fast & Furious:Tokyo Drift and Casino Royale.
Ah,
Those really were Good Times.
2000 comedy movies were on another level!!! So many comedy classics in the 2000s. Tropic Thunder, Dodgeball, Zoolander, Harold and Kumar 1 and 2, Superbad and WAY MORE!!! I miss these types of movies :(
this movie made me discover the awesomeness that is Terry Crews and just for that alone this movie will always have a special place in my heart.
Remembering the Wayans movies, they were always passionate about how they manage their acting on the screen but in this movie whatever they do they just cannot outperform Crews' enthusiasm. Dude pretty much got high just by being present in any scene.
Although this probably wasn't at the peak of Wayans Brothers films or shows i still think this one deserves to be remember for what it is and the choices it decided to make
Terry crews was a highlight of this movie!😂😂😂😂😂
I would love to see an epic roasting of the infamous 1980 adaptation of "The Blue Lagoon" with Chris Atkins and Brooke Shields!
5:16-5:19 So this is where that one line from Terminalmontage's "World of Light" video comes from.
It's nice to see Terry Crews not just be the strongman in this film and let him branch out and get more of a character other than just making fun of the fact that he is a strong guy and just using his muscles as jokes
You could tell terry crews had a lot of fun making this movie. He still looks back at it to this day
So...not gonna lie, White Chicks was actually the very first movie I ever watched on DVD.
It was absolutely terrible, but for what it was, I had tons of fun watching it....repeatedly...three times back to back. Something was wrong with me when I was a kid.
Also this movie introduced me to Terry Crews and my god did he shine comedically in this movie.
White Chciks genuinely is a movie I unironically think of rather fondly when I think back to my time growing up in the 2000's alongside stuff like Austin Powers, Shrek, Finding Nemo, Soul Plane, Dodgeball, Master of Disguise, Like Mike, Flubber and Anchorman.
....I watched a lot of out there movies back in the day and I have no regrets.
It's such a guilty pleasure rewatch for me cause terry crews is always great
The Terry Crews singing scene is legendary
I would love to see Nostalgia Critic do a review of Chronicle. It is a underrated Masterpiece. It’s one of those found footage films that works incredibly well. Watch it if you haven’t. It’s really good.
And then watch him go into apopleptic shock when he realizes that the same director went on to do Fant4stic.
Doug trying to put Chaplin in the envelope and having him type on the keyboard are the funniest things I've ever seen 🤣.
My sister and I used to have movie nights and get the worst junk food and we always picked this lol. I loved this and still quote it constantly.
This movie has so much nostalgia for me. It was a classic movie you’d put on late at night when your friends were sleeping over
Fun Fact: In the video game Psychonauts, there's a critic boss who launches ink projectiles from giant pens. When the ink hits anything, the impact leaves a word behind. These words are taken from critic reveiws of this film.
Didn't think I'd hear anyone talking about Psychonaughts in 2023. A hidden gem of a game.
I'm suddenly glad 1080p TVs weren't a thing when this came out.
I haven't seen this in any sort of HD until now... WAY better when there are less pixels on the TV
Oh my God, I loved that movie!.
The story and script was funny, the actors made a great job, the jokes was hilariously offensive but nice and I always enjoyed when I re-watched randomly in a TV channel sometimes.
Also the Latin American spanish dub was very damn well translated and acted.
White Chicks was amazing...
White Chicks was amazing...😵💫
The fact that this movie along with Dragon Ball an Shrek are considered treasures down in Mexico just shows that Comedy isn't all dead with most of the world
An I couldn't be happier 😌
There are just a very vocal minority who gets offended
White chicks is one of those movies that you grab your friends, sit down, smoke a few joints and just ride the high with it.
Honestly, the only time I ever HEARD of this movie was when it was mentioned in American Dad when Stan was trying to come up with what Roger's favorite movie is and he randomly guesses "White Chicks".
Along with this piece of nightmare fuel, I also just remembered their other movie "Little Man" which came out after this. I just looked over the trailer for it and they seriously brought up "White Chicks" as if it's something worth bringing up. You gotta do a review of that train wreck at some point in the future.
Terry was my favorite part of the movie! The man is comedy gold!😂😂😂😂😂😂
19:02
That was one of those VHS covers that I would see in the video rental store and think “nope!”
😑
This movie was so vivid in my memory. I still remember some of the lines and can’t hear “A Thousand Miles” without hearing Terry Crews.
I still feel like the Wayans brother are so underrated for as good as there comedy was and i still kind of wish more people would have taken a shot on them because they were really talented and really cared about every project they do
I love how the Chiefs opening scenes always start out with him walking out of a puddle of some sort.😂
Brazilian people are OBSESSED with this film, to the point of cosplaying the characters on carnaval, halloween and random pop culture events. I even knew a guy who made a tattoo based on the film.
White Chicks is one of those rare so bad it's good movies. It only proved how much the Wayans could get away with at the time. Also, Terry Crews always gets a pass.
I saw this movie last night and I kept telling myself "I'm so old now..."
This movie's as old as me...I'll let that sink in.
This is one of those films that's beyond criticism. Just turn off your brain and have a great time. Still funny and quotable to this day.
Love the fact you do the cameo for charity keep up the good work
this is “THE” movie of 2000s, it just defines the pop cult of that era
Considering that the two FBI protagonists were disguised as Hispanic men in the intro of the movie, I want to see a prequel movie titled “Latino Dudes” which in my idea would explore the case where they disguised as Latin men.
One of the greatest movies of all time
This movie is big in Latin America like you asked then if they watched and they are going to re act the scenes with pure joy.
I think like Doug said, the fact that this movie by itself doesn't hide that it's low brow wacky comedy with no deep commentary or life messages explains why it is so successful
A true masterpiece that has stood the test of time and always will.

Yep, even if you haven't seen the full movie, you'll know it instantly from Terry Crews' hilarious gestures and facial expressions!
Idk I liked that song even before white chicks made it more popular.
Then the song "Who I smoke" came and gave the song a third lease of life.

I'm so sad that people are now to sensitive for movies like this or Austin Powers to be made in our current time.
The Wayans Brothers make pretty solid comedies
This movie was my childhood, I remembered watching this on tv with my mom. Good times
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one, thank you for looking over this hilarious film
Chaplin's all like, " WTF are you doing?!? Get up off me! Imma scratch yo face!!!"😂
I saw this movie once, and that was on the day it came out in theaters. Ever since, there were only 2 things that stuck with me that would pop into my head every now and then:
1 the same Terry Crews scene like everyone else
2 did they record those fart sounds in an actual toilet to get that echo? why haven't more movies done that so they sound more legit? 😂😂
I can't lie, this is one of my favorite comedies. It makes me laugh every time.
How not to love a film that makes fun of high society and its futile pretties? Seriously, this movie is like a huge pie being thrown at these guy's face. Its almost burlesque!
The part at then end where Terry Crews is more upset the dude isn’t white than him being a man is what sells it for me, they knew what our expectations were so they swerved us and made him racist against other black people, it kills me everytime.
You should've highlighted the moments with the friends more! The actual white chicks in White Chicks were so funny and crazy to me. Cute friend dynamic
I’m just gonna say it. I LOVED THIS MOVIE! It maybe bad, but it’s the kinda bad that you can watch and still get some good laughs out.
You just have to watch it, let it wash over you and accept it for what it is - it's so bad it's just great. Terry Crews is awesome❤
Not gonna lie, I both love and hate this movie. I love it for its complete envelopment of the 2000s and its absolute attitude of not giving an f... And yet, I know that when you get down to it, it's not the best of films, especially from that timeframe. If you want a REALLY good movie from those days, I highly suggest checking out Mean Girls, as it is truly the peak of the 2000s, and has better writing than we give it credit.
The best part of this review was Will Smith's gif! 😂😂
The dance off in the club is my absolute favorite scene.
