- In this video I show you how to make a staircase illusion in a terrarium. Terrarium are a great way to bring a snippet of nature inside!
By placing larger stoned at the front with them gradually getting smaller toward the back this creates the illusion that the terrarium is bigger than it actually is. The key to achieving this look is to build a steep slope with the substrate & carefully choose the correct rocks for the steps
Substrate:
Coco fibre 1 part
Sphagnum moss 2 parts
Orchid bark 1/4 part
Charcoal 1/4 part
Worm castings 1/4 part
Hardscape:
Slate stone

2:55 watering & adding springtails

Very cool
Thanks!
great brother, I have a question. Can I use normal white LED strip to light terrariums?
cute
Love this! Where do you find your acrylic lids from, or do cut them yourself?
thank you! I get them from sites like amazon & eBay, search ‘clear acrylic discs’
Hi, Congratulations your videos are really cool. I have a question: do you have to spray water again, or it is done just one time? Thanks
thanks for the support! it will need to be sprayed from time to time. roughly 3-4 months for one like this:)
Every time i use moss collected from outside it fouls up the terrarium. I end up with something chewing holes in my plants, foul smell, mold or it simply dies and has to be removed anyway or it molds
Do you add springtails? You could also try soaking the moss in RO water for some time to kill off pests before adding it to terrarium, and then add the springtails afterward. Some amount of die off is normal when you transplant any plants, including moss, but they should recover if given time and the right environment. Keep trying.
