Yes, it has a "top layer" and a "function layer" with both momentary and toggle functionality. I'll try to program that as a numpad when I come back to mod it.
I just recently received the retro model, and I do plan to do a teardown and mod, but it's on my 2024 schedule, between holidays and already scheduled videos, I won't have the time. I do look forward to getting it open without destroying anything, and seeing how could it can truly sound.
@@MechKeyboards awesome, sounds good! I just ordered one myself since it was on sale. Have a basic RK68 I modded forever ago but got a nice set of retro/industrial keycaps and switches for when I found a replacement that was semi budget, retro styled and this seems to be one of the few interesting ones out there. OLED was also a nice touch to push me in this direction
@@viperchrisz4 my first was a Redragon, the second keyboard I modded was my RK68 which I still use! I enjoy the M87, the retro look, the knob, the screen, it's a nice little board that should be a fun challenge to mod. Happy Holidays!
just arrived and I can say it's good
Great review indeed
Can't wait for the moddded version with the retro keyboard!!
Does the software allow layers? That right side looks great for numpad work if we can swap in software.

Thanks for the review! What usb cable did you have in your setup?
YW. It's an OEM coiled and nylon braided USB cable, but it's been to long for me to recall from which keyboard.
Any updates with the retro one and a teardown? I heard it’s really hard to mod unfortunately with the way the pcb and screen are wired

@@MechKeyboards thanks you too!
Hey I’m getting this keyboard soon, what mods did you do to improve it? I’m curious because I want to make mine sound as good as it can
is there a way to keep the backlighting on? ,mine turens off after a minute or so of not using
I do believe there is a setting within the software.
battery saver my xvxm61 does the same
nice one
Cool!
What’s the second keyboard called
Second keyboard?
I bet you asked about NJ68
It is the NJ68 Pro.
"Keebs" Nice review.
Thanks, cheers!
Is the knob programmable?
Only the push can be remapped. not the turns.
Does it support multiple devices ?
Yes, over USB, 2.4G, or Bluetooth.
