im 19 and lived most of my life doing nothing much besides gaming and watching youtube. i had alot of those thoughts back then but today i feel at ease with everything, all because i wanted to be happy. i sought out things that were interesting and tried my best at different hobbies and skills. at first it sucked but over time i became more passionate about these things and my life in general. its gotten me into playing instruments, history, philosophy and kindled a interest for my schoolwork. all of this made me feel like at had much more time on my hands and made me go out at take care of myself physically at the gym but also mentally by seeking help where i needed it. its really hard to get started on the things you like, especially when you feel like things aren't going well but in the end the first step and effect of self improvement is being happy. go out and experience new things, double down on the things that really matter to you and let yourself be confident in who you are.
Im glad you were able to improve yourself thats awesome to hear, luckily i do go outside and skate everyday so im getting the exercise that i need, and im not just rolling around im actually doing tricks and jumping down stuff. But yea thanks for the comment and keep improving man.
Hey, good video man, keep doing these, I just turned 19, first year of uni, decent time so far, but I remember going through almost the same thing. I was so scared of turning 18 and disappointing everyone, I remember I couldn't sleep because of it, I think I have a problem where I don't really value anything I do, I have great grades but in my opinion I was still practically "cheating life" by being praised for something I felt I didn't deserve. I remember being anxious to the point of just being in my room expecting my life to crumble, hopefully tho it has gotten better, and I really do think that it Will be better for you, just keep going man. Good luck in life.
I'm 24 going on 25 soon. I haven't even had my first job yet due to some extenuating circumstances . Don't worry about being an adult, you dont have to instantly grow up as soon as you hit 18. keep making music, keep playing games. keep doing the things you love but also keep progressing and trying new things. it doesn't hurt to try different things. I am in the same boat as you are dude. fearing like you're not going to make it in life, that fear is gonna set you back and you will be too worried to move forward and then you'll be like me where I'm just stuck not knowing what to do with my life. don't worry about the home schooling stuff, tons of people have made it big and they didn't even graduate out of highschool and you can always get your GED. Going on to the point about you feeling off. that's totally normal. its usually hormone imbalance, which happens at that age. you're going to have days where you feel like funkin shint and then you'll have days where you're filled with energy and you could outrun the world three times over. just make sure you're eating right and doing enough exercise. if you're doing that then you wont have any days where you're feeling like a big ball of ass. I hope this helps you feel like you're not alone because you're not dude. Just set your goals and accomplish them and keep moving forward. don't stagnate like I've been doing for the past 4 to 5 years that I've wasted just doing nothing. years that ill def regret missing out on when I'm old and decrepit. You've earned yourself a sub and don't take down this video, it should be as a reminder to when you go off and make a name for yourself, you can go back and rewatch this vid and see how much you've accomplished in that time. think of it as a video time capsule. stay safe homie and don't worry too much, live in the moment and be free. :)
I'll throw my 2¢ in the ring. I'm getting older now, was worried about the world before and am just cautious now. You're gonna worry about things as you get older, thinking things like what will happen when, what's expected of you and eventually who you really want to be around. But these things will come in stages in no specific order and with maybe a little overlap, or if you're unlucky with your circumstances maybe all at once. And my advice for that is to roll with what you can while you can. Depending on your own factors you've got a little leniency built in before you gotta just drop all the fun stuff and get to work if it comes down to it. You got a good few years before you really should be getting yourself on your way to where you want and need to be. Take your time to slowly think about what you like and what you need. Not all at once, not no thought at all, but just a little day by day, week by week to give yourself little clues here and there. Write em down if it helps. Life will get rough sometimes, sometimes you'll get hit. Sometimes in the head, sometimes in the heart, both are going to hurt both will leave an impact. Don't let those impacts be fruitless though, learn from them, whether they were mistakes or happenstance. Give yourself a good long pause to let yourself recover and get back up and going with a better mindset afterward. Friends help, real friends, not the kind that belittle you for meager things but the kind that help you when you don't even ask. Those kinds of people are rare and often have some hurt of their own, so take care of them and they'll take care of you. Oh and discipline yourself, you don't gotta smack yourself for doin somethin wrong, but keep yourself in line. Don't go jumping off a bridge because you see people that you know or don't. If you're not careful you'll start jumping off little bridges without even knowing it and the more little bridges you jump off it becomes all the easier to jump off the big ones. Hope this helps you or someone out there one way or the other. Take care, good luck and God bless.
Hey so the commentary was great and I really liked listening to your voice. I always like listening to something while working or drawing so this was the perfect vid for the job. Pretty sad videos like these get so little views and likes. Anyway, what you said about being scared of growing up is like so real, it's so scary like what if I don't make it in life? What if I'll die alone and noone will ever like me? What if I become some basement dwelling NEET. But I always tell myself that I'm overreacting (and honestly, I think I am) Also about the thing about getting scared of counting money under pressure; since Ive never been homeschooled this has been forced onto me from kindergarten since they always make you do things like this at school (pressuring you) but at some point you just honestly stop being scared, I mean all it took was being exposed to pressure to the point counting money on a job feels a lot less scary compared being forced to recite something in front of 20 other people in a classroom. What I mean is: yes it must be scary at first, it'll be hard at work, but at some point you'll be exposed enough to not really care. I don't know what you've been through, what homeschooling really is like, so I wouldn't know if this is the issue, but this is the way I got over scary things since I was born. Wish you the best in life, and don't worry, take one step at a time and at some point things will work out, and even if it's hard, it always get better afterwards at some point. Happy future birthday as well If you make more of these I'll def watch. PS: don't worry about the stuttering, honestly I didn't really notice that there was any stuttering before you mentioned it, i mean you're already pretty confident with speech as far as I can tell so don't worry. And I even think that its more of a quality than anything. I mean nowadays youtube (and any other platform) feels so fake and saturated so watching this vid really feels like a breath of fresh air. What you said really felt like a reality check for me. (lol didn't want to write whole paragraphs but ended up writing a whole novel but whatever) Also last thing I really wanna say: you're really like the most realistic Radiohead fan especially with what you said, I mean this just screams Radiohead, also what's your favourite song+album? I'm not much wiser than anyone else but I hope this comment at least helped you feel better
Yo thank you for watching this video i honestly didnt expect anyone to watch it since ive been uploading music stuff for a while. But thank you for the birthday wishes, and thank you for wanting to watch more of these vids. What you said about youtube being fake and saturated thats actually why i want to make these kind of videos cuz i dont see these kinda vids anymore. Also funny you mention radiohead i actually own 2 of their cds Ok computer and kid a. My fav album by them is honestly kid a the atmosphere on that album is incredible, my fav song might be climbing up the walls. Again thanks for watching!
You’ll be good man idk if your gonna go to college or anything I’m 21 now had my first job @ 17 I went to school after high school 2 years then graduated took a year off went to the army shit now I’m back starting my third year at the uni
A lot of people, myself included, get this, especially around 22-25. Even at 18 you still kind of feel like a kid because you still have 21 to look forward to and esp. if you're in college. But after that yeah the quarter-life crisis is real. Nobody becomes an adult overnight, even in their 30s and 40s everybody is still making it up as they go along. Your education level now isn't where you're doomed to be. I was awful in math & science all the way to senior year, a teacher even recommended I not take the standardized exams to avoid embarassing the school lol. Anyways, I'm an engineer now working on very intensive R&D projects. A change in environment helped me grow immensely. My advice if you feel lost is focus on the foundations like health, education, & finance. Health is important because even though you're legally an adult, your body is actually still growing until 21-25. Exercise, eat a good diet, wear sunscreen, etc. Same with education, always be learning and developing new skills. At your age everyone is basically at the same level, but within 5 years you will see a massive difference between people who kept growing and taking care of themselves, and those who stagnated. Financially, save as much money as possible from your job and start investing it the day you turn 18 into a broad market fund like VT or SPY. Seriously, much like your health, investing early will pay off exponentially down the line. If you want a more tangible goal & haven't yet found work you're passionate about, look into the FIRE movement. Great place to learn about achieving financial independence, so you aren't chained by your work.
Don’t worry about college until you know you’re going to use that degree for something. Get a job, any job to start with. Work up from there. Take things easy though. It’s no real worry. Ps. You’ve seen the people who work at fast food places. They give very little fucks about their job. It’s minimum wage. You got this, shits gonna suck sometimes. It gets better though. Don’t let work consume you, I hope you succeed my friend
