Living *_without_* any fear, makes you vulnerable to being badly injured or worse. Healthy 'fear' is, well, healthy. . A phobia on the other hand is supposed to be "An *_irrational_* debilitating fear of something". I only have one phobia and that is heights. I can barely even watch a video of something looking down from a great height, without a reaction. As far as I'm concerned it's from a past life where I fell to my death from a great height. I have no wish to repeat that, so I'm okay living with my phobia... Unfortunately it could affect others... because if it meant me conquering my fear to save someone else's life... they may not survive. And so... I avoid such situations.
I totally agree. We all need rational fear but my phobias are what I am trying to slowly get over. I may not be able to totally cure the least little improvement is a big step.
So true Gaye! What scares one does not always scare another! But overcoming your fears is doable as you say, one step at a time!
It is once we take that first little step
