    Nothing focuses your attention on death like getting old. Having just being diagnosed with cancer, I am a bit more focused on it than I was. Being dead doesn't bother me much but leaving behind those who love me and will be hurt when I go, that I don't like so much...

    Living *_without_* any fear, makes you vulnerable to being badly injured or worse. Healthy 'fear' is, well, healthy. . A phobia on the other hand is supposed to be "An *_irrational_* debilitating fear of something". I only have one phobia and that is heights. I can barely even watch a video of something looking down from a great height, without a reaction. As far as I'm concerned it's from a past life where I fell to my death from a great height. I have no wish to repeat that, so I'm okay living with my phobia... Unfortunately it could affect others... because if it meant me conquering my fear to save someone else's life... they may not survive. And so... I avoid such situations.

    • @gayesjournal
      @gayesjournal 2 місяці тому

      I totally agree. We all need rational fear but my phobias are what I am trying to slowly get over. I may not be able to totally cure the least little improvement is a big step.

    Can I ask a tiny favour? When you are editing your vlogs, can you increase the volume of your dialogue, before you render it, please? I always need to turn up my speaker volume, to almost half, to hear you. About every other video I watch here, is at about 1 quarter level of speaker volume. If I forget to turn it back down on the next vid I watch, it is deafening.... and not really good for the speakers, either. Otherwise I really enjoy listening to your vlog/journals. Bravo. My "purpose" is to enjoy my life as best I can ... whatever that entails. The Universe knows it's far too short for anything less... yes? 😉☺

    My advice is do all your banking personally in the bank, I know of too many friends that have had their internet banking being scammed and then they have to go to the bank and start again sometimes losing money. Not for me.

    • @gayesjournal

      That's fine if you live in a city but not everyone has access to banks in their towns. Where I live there is one bank which is only open between 9.30 and 14.30. But if given the option then yes in person is best

    Personally I can't stand shorts on YT. They flood the platfrom with stuff that is almost always click bait rubbish. We decided early on to stay away from them so any reform that helps to get rid of them is a plus to me.

      I like shorts if I am just scrolling. I like making them as well. UA-cam are not getting rid of them, they are allowing people to make them up to 3mins long which to me is way to long for something that was meant to be short and gone.
