So in a nutshell, specialise in a specific area of income depending on the province's strength factoring in the province special buff and the base building of the minor settlements. So a province with bonuses to industry or special industry buildings like a pottery maker, build industry-boosting things. And if in doubt fall back on agriculture to keep food production high, right? + build temples to the high god or forge god of the culture
Thanks for the tips! It really helped me a lot because i just downloaded the game because i wanted to try it out first before i buy it.(It's expensive so i had to make sure that i enjoy the game and the money will not go to waste.) I have played the "older" total war games like: Rome 1, Napoleon, and i played Medieval 2 a lot (It's my favourite total war.) Meanwhile this game is a lot different than Medieval 2, but i like it i'm just confused with the many buildings. My first Campaign in this game was with Sparta, mainly because of the memes :D (At hard difficulity because i'm used to play on the hardest difficulity in the total war games that i played, so i wanted a challanging noob experience.) And i didn't play the tutorial but i thought that was a good idea. But that was not a good idea i didn't know what to build and i quickly ran out of money, and i was at war with epirus. Even though i conquered one territory, but no one liked me there and the people were starving. So after that my main army got almost killed than Macedon declared war on me, and my income was +5 per turn... And my "allies" (Athens) didn't help me at all. Yeahh... I'm embarassed But again thanks for the help :) !
Many people play with very low balance and while in Warhammer its fine in Rome 2 it will kill you... Well, it would until newest patch where you get loot from battle. I do like to play with large income surplus which enables me to increase income even more. You can check lets plays. Rome 2 is very affordable on sales. I got it for 8 Euro. Remember that this game is much much more complex than Medieval II both in economics and on the battlefield. Medieval had 1HP mechanics so matching units in ROME II is much more interesting and deep. Check out some more mechanics videos and have fun with the game.
+HiManツ +High Templar I bought the game when it first came out, but shelved it because of how broken it was at the time. I was busy with other games, so didn't start playing R2TW again until recently. I would do OK, but was still pretty clueless on what to build and where. This video helped me out tremendously. Thank you! :)
Is the percentage increase of agriculture, industry, commerce ect. that you get from certain economy buildings, province wide or just the capitol city or town that you built the building in?
It is kind of explained in each building description. If description do not say otherwise % bonus is province wide. Lets say you get jeweler chain (industry). On level 2 if memory serves you get flat 400 gold industry (manufacturing) but also +10% from all industry mining buildings in this province (So must have if you have gold mine). But Goldmine itself will increase industry empire wide same as silk with commerce.
@@hightemplar2264 So, is it a bad idea to mix industries within a province? Should i focus on 1 industry per province? So, say you have one mining province, another fishing province, a farming province, a military province, etc?
@@signoguns8501 At start Yes. Later when you have multiple slots you need to mix it up but smartly. Some buildings have income in manufacturing but give a bonus to commerce. So try to match it and match it with province bonuses and weaknesses and your faction as well. Also, fishing is only for barbarians.
It's a patch difference. Before I had 100+. You can quickly fix that by exempting provinces from taxes. Especially your recruiting provinces which takes lots of food and usually brings not much gold.
No No. That is turn 52. Like I said that was my private Video and it's going very slow. Usually, I would get a win between turn 85 and 115. That Carthage game is probably going to be later rather than former although you do start a snowball at that point.
Not much to explain here really. When your empire grows so will base corruption which takes away your taxes. You can lower it picking right research and aides to your generals. It's a mechanism that's supposed to level a field for smaller countries.
Slaves also offset corruption. A lot of people just don’t deal with it because of the risk of slave revolts, but if you keep an manageable number, it also helps keep corruption down.
I'm afraid I do not know the mod enough to say. For economy, itself it's just better to do the math and then go according to what brings the most money. DEI is total conversion so it might differ.
Wood is simple. You just upgrade wood settlement like any other. tech is the construction research tree. Before building a new fleet just upgrade as high as possible and there you go. Your ships are more resistant. Iron is more complex. You need two. one for weapons and one for armour/shield upgrades. Tech is in military tree usually siege but that depends on faction. This will give you % bonus to unit stats so more powerful units will benefit more.
Yo , High Templar , or total war fans . This helped me allot . i always build to manny farms en public order buildings XD. But this is my qustion: Good buildings for eco en mid to high tax rate or les buildings focust on eco en more public order with highest tax rate ? What brings more income > ?
The answer is simple. It depends :). At the start when you have 3 buildings bringing you 300 gold leveling those up and building more economy buildings will bring more. A bit later in a game when your income gets around 5-7k (That is before you pay upkeep so total income) you switch to public order but not to increase taxes just yet. First, you need to get that population happy for a tax boost. As they reach 100 happiness you start taxing them higher and exclude problematic provinces. It's all math really. Exact switch points may differ depending on technologies and size of most wealthy provinces. The later the game and more leveled up your provinces are the more you need that +16 public order temple instead of a mine because you already have few mines that bring you gold. For trade factions (Like eastern and factions, Nabatea and all that have silk) Trade buildings might be better. You can get around without that +16 temple with high faction bonus and no negative public order buildings.
Note that this is not 20K income but net gain. Total income was 46K. Buuuuut this is actually turn 52. I'm running 4 turns per year mod which takes time from Imperator Augustus campaign and use it in Grand Campaign. 20K net gain by 260 BCE is almost impossible (I did find a game with Epirus that I get 10K so it would be possible with say Rome or Desert Kingdoms). Anyways it is significantly better not to. Early expansion is crucial and you need those armies.
Well, it is better than agriculture, as for industry that would depend. The industry is better in every province with no trade ports or present mining. Otherwise, you must calculate. Faction bonuses also come into play. Also, the industry is offset by public order and commerce by food. If you have plenty of either (for example by having Egypt and surrounding provinces) you go for option that does not force you to build unproductive buildings (farms or public order). Finally map position. If you can have 2 or more silk commerce is better and better. If you have the gold it's the opposite.

Bro in that Carthage campaign you have like -50 food isn't a negative food surplus really bad in this game?
Indeed. It is old save and food was changed in patches. Hence I went from +100 to -50.
