Eddie re-recorded this for his 1980 Playing For Keeps album - that version is much heavier, not as much echo as this version, and he ad-libs on that one as the song fades out. I like both versions!
My favorite movie ever---and in 2012, a DJ named Ronnie Dark (the Wax Museum) got the year off to a great start for me by playing this song---2011 started sucky(my mother was in the hospital YET AGAIN for breathing problems related to smoking) and then ended sucky because my father died from lung cancer on December 27, 2011. So thank you Ronnie Dark!
I need to add something here...I saw Eddie money perform this song live at the New York State Fair in 2008 or 2009, and I got his autograph after the show, and thanked him for singing this at the concert---he was glad I said that, and I think he said it was his favorite song as well!
@@timothyashworth7161 Yeah, there's Harry Potter to consider, and Sideways, Wonder boys, etc, but Americathon tops them all----sorry! (I'm not counting Christmas movies, like Love Actually, (with Alan Rickman!) A Christmas Story(with Ralphie!), etc!).

You'll be Missed Young Man ... Rest In Peace !! ...
Saw him sing it live in 2008 or 2009---AND I got his autograph after the show, and told him thanks for singing "Get A Move On" live---wow!
I have this movie soundtrack on vinyl. I love old record stores.
This tune is why I picked up the album.
I looked all over for the soundtrack---finally found it in late 1986 in Sangertown Square---my stepfather got it for me, thank goodness!
