    For anyone with questions, so basically everyone, this is my take:
    The Drifter is from the probable reality where your Tenno Operator wasn’t spared and given void powers on the Zariman.
    So basically the Drifter has been stuck in the void for an unknown amount of time, while the Operator was able to escape with void abilities back to the Origin system
    Ballas says you can’t kill the Devil, but you can send it back to hell. Pretty sure what he means with this is: the Operator is the chimeral twin the Man in the Wall made for the Drifter. So basically you have a “real” Tenno that is the Drifter, and the “fake” Tenno that is the Operator.
    The “fake” Tenno can’t die because it’s not real/corporeal. It’s a projection of the Drifter the moment he shook hands with the Man in the Wall in the cutscene. Think of the Operator as a clone who cannot age. The clone assumes the age that the original was at, when the clone was first made.
    That’s why the Operator never ages, but the Drifter did. And also why the Operator has basically no memory of the Zariman incident also. The Operator was never there originally, _but the Drifter was_
    The Operator is basically another Save File for the Drifter. The Drifter then stayed in Duviri in the Void (so many references to it throughout the quest, including the mask the Drifter wears in the Duviri reveal trailer)
    But now here’s a better question: *MASSIVE OTHER SPOILER FOR CHARACTER DEATH*
    With Teshin now dead, I wonder if we’ll see a chimeral version of him at some point later in the lore. Remember the Dax soldier on the Horse in Duviri Paradox trailer?

      The wait I see it is this:
      At the beginning they talk about “Eternalism”, a theory that basically says that once an event occurs reality splits into however many outcomes there are, and while you only see one of those, they are theoretically interchangeable.
      All those Tenno you see dropping dead or going insane at different intervals are all the different versions of how the deal with The Man in the Wall have gone wrong, leaving you with only two people, the Operator and the Drifter. The Operator is the future in which the Tenno were rescued from the void, the Drifter is the you from the future in which they weren’t, and since he’s still on the void, it allows it to replace the version of himself that was saved in his reality, but only replace, since you can’t have 2 of the same person in one reality.

      @@nobody4y yeah, but those were the Tenno with their powers partially sealed/undiscovered. The Tenno of today can teleport around reality as long as there’s a transference conduit on the location. So we don’t really know the full capabilities of the Tenno.

    The lesson in the class said that through the Void, Eternalism is true, that a "thing will live/a thing will die" in symmetrical probability of existence. Essentially, when the human child on the Zariman Ten-Zero shook the hand of the embodiment of the Void, the now-Tenno gained this existence: cutting out the timelines where they died, by living in the Void and the Material at the same time. The lunch scene that happens in the quest is on the Zariman, which it isn't fully in the Void, as it was found drifting in the Origin System of the Material. Consider it the proverbial door in the wall, where Material meets Void. Both Void and Material existing at once in the same place creates a paradox (HINT HINT) of existence, as reality demands one constant to exist at a time. But when you have two realities that operate on different rules.....

    My theory about scene with bunch of Operators dying - in Operator form, if you die, you actually don't die and Ballas said "devils can't be killed", so I thought maybe it's because everytime Operator dies, he's just replaced by Operator from another version of reality. So it's some sort of quantum immortality.

      It’s already long established that Tenno can’t be killed because they possess Oro, which grants them immortality. To fully kill a Tenno, you have to both kill the body and steal/collect/destroy/whatever their oro to stop them from resurrecting.

  • @christianyaerger1751
    @christianyaerger1751 3 роки тому +79

    So, if I'm getting this right...
    The Zariman acts as an intersection between different realities for our Character. This includes a branch where they made a deal with the Man in the Wall (the Tenno Operator), and a reality where they didn't (Drifter).
    Since the Operator was kept on Lua, they've been in stasis, and haven't aged, whereas the Drifter has.
    I can only guess that the Drifter finally found a way to escape the Zariman 10-0, but through interference by the Man in the Wall, they wandered into this timeline and not their own. MitW probably did this since his anchor in this reality, our Tenno Operator, was banished, and he had to ensure a way to stay connected to the material world.
    Due to timey-wimey, Schrodinger wave-collapse-y reasons, the Drifter and Operator are causally linked in this reality, and we can choose only one or the other. In this scene, the Operator is essentially Transferring the Drifter, lending them their Void-empowered aid.
    But I still don't quite understand why we see several versions of our Operator self keel over when they make the handshake.

That "you" that's die is your possibility merging their essence with all the other possibility into one existence. Even the unum cannot anticipate your present because you are all that of your past, future and present at a constant. That's why you cannot age or die because you can choice your own will. So it looks like at that moment the Drifter and the Operator switched places. Does that mean whenever the "operator" form is actually killed/"sent back to hell".
    The drifter takes their place until they recharge/relive the Zariman event and shake hands with Manwal (Manwal is what I call the man in the wall)?
    Since this is the first time the operator "died" they had no idea the Drifter existed or how to switch places with the Drifter. Now they can do it on command.
    I don't get what happened after this scene though, where the Operator and the Drifter talk. Or why after that you are back in Space with your warframes after being in "Stasis".

    • @DissedRedEngie
      @DissedRedEngie 3 роки тому +10

      I think it's just that the paradoxical nature of the void allows multiple timelines co exist. In most of the timelines, the operator dies in the void. In some they die when accepting manwal's "help". In one, operator is survives and is saved from the void. In another, they survive, but are stuck in the void (probably in duviri to be precise). When Ballas sends you to the "hell" (I think he actually means duviri), your operators actions in another timeline, help the drifter out of duviri, who then in turn also brings Lotus from there.
      Manwal uses his abilities to connect their minds through a flashback and as operators can already warp long distances, they just switch places like with loki's switch teleport.

    the thing that doesn't make sense for me is.
    if the Drifter refused the deal, how did he still get powers? he must have also accepted the deal, but still stranded in the void.
    and why at that exact moment? like.. he should've already had it since the operator also had it. it makes no sense for me.
    also why did the Drifter have the Lotus in the first place?
    so many plot holes.

      The Drifter said he/she doesn't have the void powers (yet). They only got the powers near the end at the final confrontation thing where you choose if you play as the Operator or Drifter for when you face Ballas. After that (including after finishing New War) the Drifter is being enhanced by the Operator when out, which is why DE made Drifter have the same powers (besides the Sirocco) after this.

      I think it's meant to be Wally eliminating all the timelines where we die, and creating a Central Finite Curve of all the timelines where we're still alive.
