    Hello Madam Dorine. We (Burundians) are proud of you. You are our sisters and brothers. I've been thinking about this coincidence for a long time.
    Endi omwekesia = Ndi umwigisha = I am a teacher
    I studied at JKUAT. One day I was in a bus and I heard an old man talking these words on his phone: "Ndi mumuduga!" That is pure Kirundi : It means :I'm in a bus.
    When you refer to a person in general, you say " mundu" (apologies for typing error if any) .
    In Kirundi, a person is " umuntu"
    Oli omwitsa wange = uri mugenzi wanje
    In Kirundi, when we say: Ari munzu, that means "He/she is in the house"
    Abana (in Kirundi) = children

  • @felixbigirimana435

    OMG, this too similar!
    now i am interested in learning more about Kiluhya Marachi language🥰,
    Kirundi Examples:
    •Ndi umurundi (I am a Burundian)
    •Uri umwigisha mwiza wanje (You are my good teacher)
    •Ni ikaramu (it's a pen)
    •Ari mu nzu (She/he is inside the house)
    •Turi mu nzu (We are inside the house)
    •Turi abana bo mu nzu imwe (We are children of the same house)
    •Muri abantu beza (You are good people)
    •Bari indani (They are inside)
    •Bari ngaha (They are here)
    (But most of the time "Bari" is used in the present perfect tense, which means that "Bari ngaha" can also mean " They have been here". Mostly in the present, They " it's "Ni" same as the singular one:
    •Ni abagenzi banje (They are my friends)
    ❤🥰✌🏾

    Uri umugenzi wanje = You are my friend

      Kuba = To be
      Ndiri = I am
      Uri = You are
      Muri = You are (plural also formal)
      Ari = He is
      Iri = She is
      Eri = It is
      Turi = We are
      Vari = They are (also polite addressing He/She)
      Ni/Ndi = is (also substitute for he/she/it)

In fact, when it comes to Wanga, Tsotso, Marama, Kisa, Idakho, and the likes, sometimes I am unable to differentiate them when I am not keen with the speed of their words and intonation. Maragoli on the other hand is closer to Kirundi and Kinyarwanda. Also, it's closer to Kikuyu and Kisii

    Great video, thanks!
    In Kirundi alphabet, we don’t have the vowel ‘’L’’. We use ‘’R’’ in writting, even though when speaking it might sound like something between L and R.
    So:
    You are = Uri
    We are = Turi
    They are = Bari / Ni. For ex. They are in the house: Bari mu nzu. They are my children: Ni abana banje.
    Ari munzu means exactly the same in Kirundi. She/ He is in the house.

    In Kirundi we don't have "L" we use R in everything, so we say "uri" not "uli".

    Point of correction: In Kirundi, we don't have this letter "L" in our alphabet. So, instead of "ULI", it should be "URI".
