Sorry for the late reply-I haven’t logged into this channel in a while. Thanks for the support. And that’s awesome! Overall, they’re amazing cars. Mine has about 192,000 miles now. I’m looking to get an 06-07 Accord with a manual pretty soon.
@@1978mackdaddy oh yea. It’s parked until I buy or build it a new transmission. It still drives enough to daily it but it’s very sloppy and requires a code reader to get it out of limp mode when it fails to shift. It’s got 290k on it tho
I enjoyed the video. I am about to get a 2000 Accord EX. Make sure to keep up with Whitney’s transmission fluid changes. Use only the Honda fluid. They are great cars but the trannys need TLC.
Thank you, I appreciate it! I had the transmission rebuilt in February of 2019, as it had the infamous 1st to 2nd Gear trouble. Since rebuilding it, it’s held up well. This car is no longer my daily driver (I have a manual 7th Gen Accord now), so it doesn’t get much use anymore, but I still drive it occasionally.
I plan on getting either a 7nth gen Honda Civic Sedan EX/LX or a 98-02 Honda Accord v6 Coupe this summer. Any tips when doing maintenance as a beginner? Also, does the mods increase your car insurance premium like crazy? I plan to but need to make sure I can afford. 😅
In terms of maintenance for the V6, I’d say stay on top of oil changes (when this car was still my daily driver, I did oil changes every 3,000 miles. The transmissions on the 6th Gen Accords are known to fail (mine did at 170,000 miles), so if you notice it shifting hard or slipping gears, get it taken care of sooner rather than later. I’m personally not mechanically inclined enough to do my own maintenance, so I take it to an independent shop that specializes in Honda’s and Acura’s. If you can find a place like that, I’d go with them-genuine Honda parts, but not nearly as expensive as going through a Honda dealership. For the insurance, I bought this car when I was 18 and started out paying $199, which wasn’t too bad for my age. Over the next couple of years, it continued to go down and right now I pay less than $170 for this car and my 04 Accord together. All of my mods are only aesthetic, nothing mechanical, so it doesn’t make too much of a difference. Hopefully that helped!
Awsome video.Just purchased 1998 Honda Accord EX.You go Bro! 😊
Awesome, congratulations! They’re amazing cars. 👌🏾
this is my second most favorite generation of Accord, second only to the CB7.
It's elegant smooth and beautiful
It certainly is! I miss mine a lot.
@@whitneythe6thgenaccord680 same here. I sold my 1992 EX and regretted the same day. I like to buy one of this generation to try it
I have an 02' just installed a jumbo trans cooler, no more hesitation nice and smooth.
Nice! I still have my ‘98, but my daily driver is now a 7th Gen Accord with the K24 and 5 speed manual.
Good review, I have an 02 accord v6 coupe with custom fogs, and it’s showing age but is at 276800 thousand miles

That steering wheel cover tho! I wanna know where you got that one.
Thanks, I appreciate it! I found it over 2 years ago at Ross-it matches the wood grain in the car really well.
Where did you get your steering wheel cover ?
I got it from Ross about 3 years ago.
Did yours come with an aux input??
The factory radio didn’t, but the aftermarket one I have has an aux input, Bluetooth, and USB.
Special carr
3 things i do not need in my car.
hydraulic hood struts
power adjusted seats
power adjusted mirrors
Yo what % of tint does it have
It has the legal limit for SC-around 27%.
Ok thx also nice whip
@@jacobsmith6610 Thanks, much appreciated!
Tell me about the license plate
CG1 is apart of the VIN code (1HGCG1…), and Whitney comes from the name of my favorite artist-Whitney Houston.
200hp and especially 195 lbs is a lot for a light car.
