Trees looking healthy and good - congratulation on the abundance of persimmon fruits 👍 What a coincident I came back home today from shopping to find my neighbour went on a persimmon fruit farm picking trip… they have picked around a 100 fresh persimmon fruits and distributing to share with the family!
They are so good, climate is borderline here but they are still worth persisting with. We dried some jiros just as they were going soft, they turned out really good.
Ah ok, I hadn't really researched their chill requirements as they have been trouble free here but I was wondering if they had chill requirements. When these trees grow a bit more theres no way we'll be able to finish all the fruit. Really prolific and large size
@@Tinachimneycreekfarm yes they handle cold weather no problems, they just dont like to be saturated for too long like most fruit trees. A bit of wind protection helps too but they are pretty tough. Fuyu can be eaten hard and crispy or left to ripen to a super sweet jelly consistency but if you see a variety called an "astringent" variety then those ones can only be ready when overripe to a helly consistency
Looking good Paul 👍 My fuyu is leafless already with only first fruit eaten today I have in the fruit bags and multiple still getting attacked by king parrots so I had to throw a net over as well after losing a quarter of them

I would love to see a Persimmon farm, they would be a great tree to farm because they are almost hassle free.
