Looking good Paul, my one is about twice the size and it is completely covered as well. They might grow a bit bigger in the subtopics. They do need a bit of water at fruit set to hold them all.
@@lyonheart84 I did notice when I was putting in the concrete adjacent to the mulberry that the root system did spread far and wide so that makes sense mate.
@@sydneyfruitgardening that's great to know thanks. I did notice that the first year the fruit was average, then the second year it was great so this year I can't wait to try them.
@@TemperateTropicalDownUnder they are sensational. Last year I packed a bucket for a road trip and ate them on the way instead of the usual man made treats
@@UrbanBounty haha yeah that sounds about right. I can’t get enough of them. I have 4 different varieties of mulberry and I love them all but red shahtoot is my favourite
@@matthewspatch9529 Gday mate. The fruit is delicious and seems to get longer every year. The first seasons fruit was average, I think its one of those trees that needs a few seasons to reach its full flavour.
I think this terrible wind we are getting has helped pollination - Mines about 8yo in pot but needs alot of heat for full fruit fill and ripeness usually on the second flowering in Summer. I wish I had a ground spot 🤔
@@UrbanBounty We should do that get together when it's a bit warmer lol 🌴 I did my last apple grafts yesterday 2 mini lunchbox apples onto the golden delicious now about 8 extra varieties
@@melbournesubtropicfruits9474 thats great, space saving. I have tried to graft the red apple from Neil onto a golden delicious, it already has a successful pink lady graft

Wowsas. That's a lot of promise of fruit to come.
@@Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus yes it is! These trees seem to get better but a big amount each year 👍

Cool, I think this variety does well in containers 👍
That looks absolutely amazing Paul, I really need a bigger garden as they don't do well in small containers

Wowsers 🤩 your Mulberry tree is loaded with fruits!
How do you keep your tree so short, but still have great fruit set?
@@joestropicals6760 gday Joe, I haven't pruned or trimmed that tree at all, that is just the shape its taken on by itself.
These are so delicious 😋
