I know this is an older video, but I'm going to throw in my two cents. I'm about to replace my heating element for the 4th time in my Electrolux dryer, so this isn't just a common issue: it's an inevitability. My dryer doesn't have any airflow obstructions, the heating element is just a design flaw (or intentional flaw, since a lot of new dryers will be bought because of it). Pretty dead simple to fix, the hardest part is finding a supplier with good heating elements in stock. There are a bunch of cheap ones on Amazon that last on average about a year, but you can squeeze around 4 or 5 years out of an official Frigidaire element. Every single one of them eventually heat-warps the coil backplate until it shorts out and fries a coil. That being said.....I've had my dryer since 2009, and it does just fine as long as I keep feeding it heating elements every few years lol
I just picked a fairly new one up from the "free stuff" app. The guy says it's throwing a code for the element. Yep just like you mentioned in the vid one strand of the element was fried. Picked up a oem heating element from eBay for $38 and good to go. I will say it definitely don't get as hot as some of the old dryers or seems that way but for basically a brand new Electrolux for $38 I think I'll hang on to it for awhile. And one more thing it's certainly heavier than most dryers I believe
Is it absolutely necessary to disconnect the power supply on this model gas dryer if I wanted to unscrew that entire gray cover to get all the fuzz bunnies out from down inside there where the filter usually sits? Cuz it's a difficult space I would have to maneuver machine out of just to reach behind it.😞😵 And I 100% agree with what you said about the clothes sitting on top.of the vent for far too long sometimes!
Is ther a sound in the electrolux electric dryer when it starting to run? Like 1 or 2 seconds when press to start dryin.. is it normal.. does a heating element create a sound?
Question. The heating element in my dryer got so hot the inside piece started to bend to one side and of course then the elements were resting on the casing. We replaced the heating element but now it causes the breaker to flip. Sometimes after 5 minutes even on low heat. Then in the laundry room it smells like burning hot and the clothes are super hot. Obviously the tempature regulator or something isn't working properly. Any info on that? I did not find the heating element easy to replace at all. How did you do yours?
I would not continue using the dryer if it's overheating. Most of the time overheating dryers are caused by lack of air flow. Even heating elements burning up are usually caused by lack of airflow because the heating element does not have enough airflow to keep it cool. Check the filter housing in the pipe going from the back of machine to the outside of the house. Somewhere hopefully easy to get to the dryer is not able to breathe.
I've researched this heating element problem all over the net. All failures are nearly identical. The metal warps and the coils short at back of housing. Tons of ppl have replaced all three fuses, control board and checked duct for clogs or bad beands. It's in the element. The newer elements, both OEM and after market, are just garbage. I've spoken to repairmen that say the same and refuse to sell frontloaders like this Electrolux. My first two elements lasted 4years. That was 8 years ago. Not great at all, but better than the last two that lasted under a year. Some ppl go through 4 a year. Not this guy. Replacing this one and putting back money for a diff brand that is not a front loader. Question. If her element is getting so hot why isn't one of the fuses popping and giving an error? The exhaust is rated for 180F. Sounds like it's getting hotter than 180F by the time it reaches exhaust. For that matter why isn't a fuse on element popping before our element's metal warps? Junk made now! No?
@@ufartface , sorry, I meant front loading washers in general though the subject is about dryers. The repairmen definitely said stay away from front loading washers. They also wouldn't sell Electrolux stackables, such as the lind that we are having trouble with.
@@apexnine The second one I replaced with was really bad and did not even last a few months. The third one I made sure it was OEM and paid more money for it. It has been working fine for over a year now. I tried to file a warranty with the second company, called and emailed etc and absolutely no response. They also stopped selling their product on Amazon. So I'm hoping it was a bad part and obviously by a company that refused to even acknowledge thier warranty.
Could you please help to show us how to Hard Reset this Dryer? we have error code E63. People recommended to reset it, but, I don't know how. Thanks, Best Regards,
Duc Tran Well I’ve done is open up the dryer door well it’s on and plugged in then unplug the dryer for a minute or so then plug it back in and close the door, this usually resets everything
I'm not really a fan of front loading washers. They just don't last very long compared to top load. If you are in an area that needs to conserve a lot of water they are a good choice.

Thank you for this helpful information; what dryer would you purchase/ suggest then? 😊
The Lint screen clogs up if you use dryer sheets. Soak in dawn dishsosp overnight to get dryer sheet residue off.
a stopped up filter can definitely cause chaos with a dryer. glad you Got it fixed.

What could the problem be when the dryer wont power on at all no lights no nothing, cord is working and house breakers are good.

It has been too long since I've had that Electrolux I'm not sure. The heating element definitely shouldn't be creating a sound. It's just hot wires.

Not sure.
Do you know how to fix the E52 error on this dryer? I heard a loud clunk and then My dryer PAUSED as soon as it started today.
I meant super familiar with that particular machine.
Washer Dryer Money - thanks - we discovered our problem - a sock got sucked into the fan through the lint filter. All good now.

I’ve had the same problem with code E63 too, that eventually may have been the starting of the element to be changed.
I have an E63. We just changed the heating element. It says heater to earth ground issue.
What front load washer do you recommend under $600

Why does my dry stay on cancel all the time
Not sure.
