Initially I was lukewarm _at best_ about Trevor Noah. Obviously I just really missed Jon Stewart.
But....Trevor has totally come into his own as of late. The Trump insanity no doubt forced him into a steep learning curve....but he and the entire Daily Show staff came through with flying colors. I also recently heard an interview with Trevor on NPR's Fresh Air...and came to really respect and admire his intellect and mind. He's a legit cool person...Jon Stewart knew what he was doing in picking him as his replacement...and it's taken people like me time to catch on to that fact. But I'm a big fan now. :)

I've been voting since I turned 18yrs of age. I'm 46 now. I have never been the kind of person to rally the masses to get out and vote, even though I've always done my part. In the next presidential election, I'm knocking on neighbors doors, passing out flyers, dragging relatives and friends to the polls and whatever else it will take to get this man out of office. We all have to go hard and do more the time around. There's too much at stake.

And there is indeed a class contempt from some college educated people towards the rest of the population. There is indeed a problem of staying in one's bubble, and Clinton, while infinitely more competent than trump, was indeed the type of classical polititian that people distrust.

Just an honest question from a non-American, but what would Trump have to do to be impeached? Honest question. It seems like being inexperienced and unable to sound like an actually president wouldn't be enough.
Be convicted of an actual crime that was committed prior to his presidency, be convicted of a crime during presidency not related to the presidency (rape as an example), or using his powers or acting as president in such a way that is illegal (such as treason). The reason I say this is because there is a law that says the president cannot be prosecuted if a crime or action is committed as a consequence of him taking action as president. Say bombing an enemy camp and a civilian is hit along side our enemies. You can't prosecute the president for murder of the civilian as that was not the intent. Stuff like that is waived while the above list is not.
He can be an idiot, that's not an impeachable offense. He'd have to do something really bad, like Watergate level. And honestly trump is so unique I don't even know if that would do it. His supporters are so isolated that they wouldn't understand the intricacies of an event worthy enough to impeach him. Shit is crazy here… but even some of the people who voted for him are beginning to have second thoughts too. Not the really dug in ones but the ones that did it out of spite or because of obligation.

When you're a little kid? The president seems like such an accomplishment, an exalted thing to aspire too. The great line is "you might grow up to be president some day", and the implication of that is if you study hard, perfect your mind, pursue kindness fairness, diplomatic skill...that, no matter where you came from, you might be great enough to be president some day. I remembered every president as a kid, could still say them forwards and backwards. It's a sullied thing now, and forever honestly. The whole institution/concept of presidency has been destroyed in my mind. The pedestal I use to put it on is gone forever. There have been good and bad presidents, but never a vile, grotesque, stunted president like this. It's an office that reality TV, pseudo-billionaire, trash can now attain. I wonder if 8 year-old kids can feel that that office has changed? I bet they can. I feel they can go through the list, and at the end, the guy sitting there, kind of makes the whole thing less grand, impressive.

You're the first person I've seen mention this. I feel the same way, even after Trump is gone and we have a decent president, I'll never feel the same way about the office of president again. There should have been something in all the checks and balances, some amendment to the constitution to prevent ever letting someone as unqualified, ignorant and self serving as Trump to get nominated in the first place.
