- welcome back guy's, its been a few weeks of trekking and hunting for treasure in the hills of Scotland. we are back in the valley of the winds fighting through ferns and foliage to find the rare Scottish gold, as we tried a few times to get back on nugget alley and failed for now! driving us down the valley on to old grounds to find some great nuggets and a day with 4g in the pan.

Hi looking at heading up next week for my first ever gold panning experience could you recommend a burn to investigate ? I have been looking online but can not seem to find any information on the burns in lowther hills
hi lewis, its not easy at the start! if your going to the leadhills the glengonar water is a good place to go, but the pockets have to be hunted for! good luck buddy,,

its glacial deposits formed over many ice ages, with many layers appearing down the valley, showing different types of bedrock in some areas too!

I got flash flooded last week water risen 4 or 5 feet in glen orchy lost my new sluice with my new CapeD matt and lost my new pump I'm such a noob 🤣🤣🤣
what a nightmare! i feel for your loss buddy! with all this unusual flooding brings more gold back into the pockets, hopefully we'll get a dry spell this summer? to go for a big session on there!

@@northernpickers just a wee update buddy I got a 3d printer and managed to print a solid matt the only thing is it has to be printed in 200mm sections because my printer size, but i can custom my sluice now. Hope your good buddy 👍 🙏

Hi 😊 is it allowed to use metal detector around Tyndrum?
dont know in tyndrum town, but the rangers at the orchy just down the road said it was fine!
