I'm from the Chicago area, and I remember hearing about this on the news as a child. It was (and still is) very frightening. To this day, it's the first thing I think of whenever I see a Lane Bryant. It's hard to believe they still haven't found the perpetrator, considering they have a surviving witness and an incredibly quick police response. I still hope they'll find him and finally offer justice and closure to these women and their families

Hi Jiles, (it's Nicola) again. I am a largely silent viewer, as you know, but I felt compelled to leave a comment in this case. I want to say how terribly sad and outraged I feel on behalf of the victims and their families, nobody deserves this dreadful outcome when they go out to do a bit of shopping...honestly, it's just a travesty, I am so sorry this happened to them. I watched a series of documentaries by Louis Theroux a few years ago about the Westboro Baptist Church and, to be honest, this was the main impetus for giving my two cents, for what it's worth. This bunch of so-called "Christian" lunatics are not only deranged but they are a bloody menace to society and I am equally disgusted by their conduct. I mean, they are indoctrinating their very young children with this nonsense and forcing them to stand out on the street with those vile signs too! I'm surprised they have not been on the receiving end of way more grief than they have been already. Having said that, the people/communities they "target" are invariably open-minded, loving, generous, inclusive and considerate towards others, so, there's that. Anyhoo, thanks for another thought-provoking video. Cheers from Oz! 🦘

In that case he more than likely did this before or again. They need to check on solved and unsolved cases spreading out from that lane bryant store 5 years before and after. Black male with gun. Near interstate. Lane bryant store. He more than likely was trying to rob places that wouldn't have the chance of someone walking in constantly like a gas station would. Close to interstate. In shopping center so his car wouldn't stick out like it would a single store that has the one car for that employee. He didn't get that much money. He was willing to kill a bunch of people for cash then he definitely has done this more than once.

Oh wow so weird to see my town on Monsters!! I lived in Tinley Park when this happened (still do) and my husband and I just got out of Denny’s when we saw like 4 helicopters surrounding the strip mall. It was a crazy time! Everyone around here still thinks it was a hit put out on one of the women, but it was done this way to not raise suspicion

I live in the Chicago Northwest suburbans, and the Lane Bryant shooting happened 6 years after the Brown Chicken massacre was solved (a long formally unsolved case), I wonder if it will be solved the same way, where a former girlfriend or boyfriend talks.

Such an abhorrent monster. Those women would absolutely have felt safe at a strip mall, in the morning. These stores are not usually targeted for robbery/murders. RIP to all these innocent victims. Condolences to the families 😥💔. I cannot believe he wasn't caught yet. I'm sure he has been in prison since then. A 💩 like that would definitely be in prison for other crimes. I'm sure this monster was already a career criminal that should have been locked up forever. A⁵⁵holes in the court system love releasing violent thugs to keep making more victims 🤬🤬🤬🤬

wow I have never heard of this case, could you imagine going to buy some clothes and just getting killed over nothing. If she got DNA under her nails, in 2008, and they preserved the DNA you’d think they could have found him by now through one of those hereditary match things they do today right?

You don't have to find him. A relative would work. See "I'll be gone in the Dark" by Michelle McNamara. She OD'ed on drugs and died before the book was published, tho. He was found from a relative's DNA from a site like that.

I wantch and read true crime so not much gets to me anymore but I sat here crying watching this one. I think I'm able to disconnect from things because I've never related to many stories but I'm an avid Lane Bryant shopper and it hit me that it very well could have been me, it could have been any place but because I have been to lane Bryant so much it just hit me I guess.
I hope the families are able to find peace some day and I can't wait to see how justice handles this monster.
