    Necrophilia is one of the most horrendous things I can even imagine. The thought of accidentally stumbling upon, SEEING and standing only feet away from deceased person would be enough to traumatize me. These dudes doing what they did months after murdering her is beyond my comprehension

      Just imagine the awful decomp gas that would have come out of her during their "sessions" by lying on top of her... Gross. I'm against big funerals/embalming, so I do them myself for family. If you've ever dressed a corpse for burial, even one that's less than 24 hours old, that happens if you even try and turn them, and it's nasty.

    As someone who was not only around for the original heavy metal/ satanic scare but who was also part of that world as senior editor of RIP magazine in the 1980s and 90s, I LOVED this episode! It really upsets me that this girl’s poor parents tried so hard to lay the blame on a band for the actions of these sick individuals. As journalists, we fought really hard for creative freedom. Also, your friend rules and I subscribed to his channel. probably 2 grief-stricken parents who don’t understand the heavy metal scene, who saw it as symptomatic of a larger problem amongst ‘the youth’ and the ‘slope into degeneracy’ or whatever that Elyse was on, who couldn’t comprehend (or want to believe) that such young people were capable of horrible crimes, and who were searching for anything to direct their anger towards…

    I appreciate you highlighting how violent media is not the cause of violence. I have seen way too many creators of true crime content overly focusing on the movies, music, and books that monsters such as these consumed, and it always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Whenever a murderer reads Stephen King, watches Evil Dead or listens to Iron Maiden, it's brought up. Yet somehow we never hear about them listening to pop or country music, or reading comic books, or watching American Pie 🤷🏽...

    • @nu-metalfan2654
      @nu-metalfan2654 10 місяців тому

      @ChrisOSemrik. While I agree with you to an extent. However some forms of media can absolutely cause violence, especially Porn. Now depending on what type of Porn you’re watching, studies show people are less likely to be violent if they watch “Mainstream Porn”, stuff like Jenna Haze, Sasha Grey, Lisa Ann etc etc, that’s mainstream porn. But those that become addicted to more violent and taboo forms of Porn are much more likely to commit violence.
      Ted Bundy is living proof of that, Bundy said in an interview that the more Porn he saw through magazines and grindhouse theatres the more he got addicted to it and when you become addicted to Porn the more you want it harder and heavier until it becomes unable to find it so you seek it out for yourself.
      As someone who’s also addicted to Porn, Bundy was 100% right, you start craving harder and taboo types of Porn, until it reaches its max, and that’s when sexual violent thoughts enter the mind as it has now with me.
      Horror movies as well, but it depends on what type of Horror movies you’re watching, as Horror movies that depict sexual violent acts can cause someone to vomit violence. Now I’m not for censorship and I can’t fucking stand censorship.
      But when it comes to Extreme Horror movies like Salo, I Spit On Your Grave, etc etc that show a lot of sexual violence, they pretty much become like violent Porn.
      But mental health is also a huge factor, as people with depression, anxiety, feeling lonely, Bipolar or have been through trauma etc etc are more likely to seek out and become addicted to violent Porn.

    • @nu-metalfan2654
      @nu-metalfan2654 10 місяців тому

      @@geraldinenolan6312 No I don’t.
      I think it’s mainly stuff that depicts sexual violence that can cause sexual violent behaviour.
      Stuff like being addicted to violent and taboo forms of Porn, and Horror movies that depict a lot of sexual violence, movies like Salo, A Serbian Film, I Spit On Your Grave.
      As I said in my comment Ted Bundy was 100% right that being addicted to Porn makes you want to find harder and more taboo forms of Porn until it reaches its max and the only way is to seek it out for yourself with sexual violent behaviour.
      Im at that stage now thinking of sexual violent thoughts, I don’t think I would act on them, but watching rape scenes as an example turns me on.
      But I’m also not for censorship, I fucking hate censorship as it hinders our creativity and freedom of expression.
      So when it comes to violence in media no I don’t think it causes violent behaviour, unless it’s sexual violence in media which I do think can cause sexual violent behaviours, I mean Ted Bundy is living proof of that.

      @@pommunist I agree it was an overreaction, but you have to remember that this was nearly 30 years ago. Weed was still seen as a “hard” drug to an extent.
      The internet was only just introduced and wasn’t viable to do research like it is today, so if you didn’t grow up around it or know anyone who did it, you might as well be doing cocaine or heroin.
      They really cared about their daughter, and we all know teenagers are stubborn as all hell. Odds are they feared her ending up like the folks from “Reefer Madness” and overreacted due to the time period.
      This is obviously 100% speculation, and my purpose of this rant was mainly to remind people that those were different times and sending their child to rehab would have been the go to answer for their situation.
      I was 13 when I first tried weed and 16 when it became a habit. We now know that smoking it habitually at such a young age has negative consequences on a developing brain.

As the Slayer lawsuit was also dismissed I just wonder if either decision had an influence on the other, despite the legal ramifications of First Amendment protections? Just a thought.
    Fantastic episode. Took me back to my Metal soaked teen years and reminded me of the case of Ricky Kasso who also killed a 'friend' in the name of 'Satan'. The book 'Say You Love Satan' chronicles the entire sordid story and aftermath. Both stories tell of very tragic and unnecessary deaths.

      @@louieberg2942 I've read a lot about alternative religions (I was raised Catholic so....) and you're right - the majority of Satanists are more into sex rituals. Aleister Crowley claimed that he had practiced ritual human sacrifice but there's nothing to prove that it ever actually happened so it was probably just a boast. He wasn't exactly a credible source. There's some speculation that early Druidic and Roman religious cults practiced human sacrifice and the Vikings certainly did but the people they sacrificed - either for their wealthy dead or to their gods - were willing volunteers. Making a sacrifice to Satan to make your metal band famous is just daft. Those boys should have tried praying for some talent instead.

    • @HermanMunster420
      @HermanMunster420 10 місяців тому +1

      @@Lady1974M praying for talent is asking for something deeply selfish from a god. There are people dying, asking god for the ability to be talented so they can make money and indulge in whatever they wanted is inherently evil. A better thing would be to practice and earn a career as opposed to praying that a being somewhere in the sky will just hand it to them because they asked. That is both lazy and entitled. Praying doesn't do anything, if that was the case everyone who ever screamed "please God no" when being killed or sexually assaulted would have divine intervention. That doesn't happen. So praying for talent is a presumptuous thought. Praying will do as much as hoping will. I'm a career musician, I was considered for a Grammy when I was a teenager, I've produced several albums, done audio for HBO, MGM, and done ads for Kia motors. No one I've ever worked with got anything from prayer. They got it from working hard and sacrificing their spare time to work. That's reality. Oh I was also raised Catholic. I can't believe people still actually believe in it. Harry Potter is just as believable.

    I’ve been a metalhead all of my life, which also meant I was perpetually misunderstood by those who didn’t “get” it. I never understood how they tried to blame bands the way they did back in the day either. By doing that, it almost removes the responsibility from the person committing the crimes 👉🏻 and transfers blame to an innocent third party scapegoat. How is that justice? Why are we not blaming those who did the crime? It never made sense!
    Like back in 10th grade a particular Megadeth shirt I wore - I was told would make someone “want” to kill themselves, and I would be the one to blame for it if they did 👉🏻 so take it off! I ended up getting my punishment for that shirt (being told to initially take it off) all the way up to *3 days out of school detention* which was INSANE at the time. They changed the dress code too, because of that day with me at that school! NO SKULLS 😂, which I never listen! I refused to change, refused to apologize, and finally told the principal if someone was going to kill themselves, they were going to do it despite my shirt. He was lived! I was told that day I was going to hell, and I “deserved” it. Over a Megadeth shirt. People took that stuff waaaaaaaaaaay too seriously back then and it was ridiculous! I don’t miss those late Regan era witch-hunts, by the ever so loving Christians! What a joke!
    Btw, I was an honor student, and I really cared about school until that day. From that point on I was forever told I was trash (by certain teachers!), and weirdly judged, and made to feel like I was something terrible, all for my taste in MUSIC. I really don’t miss those days and I am proud that I stood up for myself, even if I got 3 days out of school over it! I’ve gone onto be a successful adult, successful single parent, and life has been really good for me. I STILL LISTEN TO METAL! I’m so glad I proved everyone one of those ugly people wrong 👍🏻! It feels really good to run into them and watch them eat their words 😂! And good episode btw! Sorry for my weird rant!

His grandpa paid us 50$ each to go there every Saturday for a few hours and work on clearing it out. About a quarter mile down the road was the field where her body was buried. After she was found it creeped me out knowing that every Saturday for six weeks we were driving past her body and didn't even know it. Being apart of the metal community at the time I can tell that the "Satanic Panic" was real. There was this older guy I knew who owned a New Age/Occult/Wiccan shop that he had to shut down because people assumed the shop was linked to satanic worship and were protesting it.
