I've actually just bought this microphone myself, It's getting delivered today, and I can't wait to try it out. It sounds really good and isn't too expensive which is a bonus
Definitely going to check this out. The audio sounds clean crisp
Thank you for this video. Laconic, vivid and just pleasant. Keep it up!
Hey thanks that means a lot!
Great video. Definitely helped me make mind up. Will be purchasing. Thanks
Thanks for watching! Glad this helped!
Great comparison, really wanted to hear what it sounded like vs the internal mic. Super useful
Glad you found the review helpful!
Getting one next week🎉
Thank you for the review. Will decide soon to get one.😊
Thanks for watching!
Nice video 🎉 Great clear review. TY!
Thanks!
Good real-world review 🙌🏽
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review. I have a much larger and expensive mic for vlogging but the shotgun type and the size is a pain even switching recording directions. I may need to give this mic a try
Absolutely! These smaller budget mics are so good! You'll want to check out my review this Saturday of another good budget mic option!
Very nice. I just picked up an MKE 600 and got this free. Great Video!
Wow where are they giving out MKE 200 Mics for free 🤯 I've heard the MKE 600 is pretty nice too!

Great Video. Actually I really like the Sound from this Microphone. Its So minimal in Design also which is a Huge Advantage to some people.
Thanks for watching! I love the sound of it too and the design is probably my favorite part!
Brilliant
Great review. I have a high end sony camcorder with Optical Image Stabilisation: the lens moves along with your movements, so the blurring associated with the motion of the camera is reduced. However, since this system is not entirely silent, external mics might register the clicking sounds of the image stabilisation very easily. For those kind of camera's, it's probably a good idea to buy a smaller mic like the mk200, which is not positioned close to (or even and way over) the movable lens. This looks like the one i've been searching for !
Sounds like a good solution!
@1:45 Dang bro, when you dropped the statement that you’d done the entire video intro with this mic… shocked me. I assumed it was some other pro mic… I haven’t even finished the video yet. Give me one second, I’ve got to complete my order on Amazon where it’s 69.99 right now… and I’ll be right back to finish watching.
//Edit//
I finished watching. Glad I ordered it. Though I do want to add it is very hard to find a dead cat for this mic.
Hey, glad you enjoyed the review! The mic comes with a dead cat in the box 👍
@@AndrewKnepper appreciated!!! I can end my search 😂
Great video! Since it is a directional mic, can you flip it back to be heard from either side of the camera?
Yeah, you could mount the mic backwards and you would be able to record audio behind the camera. Hope this helps!
Hi thanks for your kind video on this product. Beside that, do you think MKE-400 worth the price for acoustic guitar, bird outside or MKE 200 is enough or recording . Rgards
The MKE 200 will definitely do the job!
Love you bro
✌️
Andrew..what’s your take on this mics built in shock mount? With this attached to a camera, will it pick up audio noise from handheld, run and gun work? Thanks.
I haven't noticed any handheld noises well using this microphone!
Thanks for the video, does it come with the dead cat?
Thanks! Yes, the dead cat is included!
How does it sound recording music like an acoustic guitar? Also how do you connect to iPhone 14? Is it Bluetooth wireless connected?
It's a wired connection so you'd need an adapter on and iPhone I believe. The audio you're able to get is really good so I imagine an acoustic guitar would sound great as well!
Great review. I'd say this is the 5th I've watched, and still can't figure out if there's a way to use this with a phone that doesn't have an 1/8th inch jack. Anyone know if this can go to USB C?
You'll have to get a USB to auxiliary adapter
@@AndrewKnepperweb site?
idk im not getting your result can you tell us about your audio settings and the audio editing process.
Yeah, so a couple of things:
1. The closer you are to the mic the better the audio is
2. I don't use any special settings on my camera for audio
3. I do use a voice effect on final cut pro called something like "brighten" which makes the audio pop and sound a little better in my office
Hope those help! Thanks for watching!
Oh! Side note you can check out my latest UA-cam Short to see how to get better audio in a studio setting with an extension arm!
I’m interested in how these budget mics handle live music like at a concert.
Well I can imagine compared to a phone or camera it's going to do a much better job, but it's hard to say exactly... Guess you'll have to try it out and make a review!
No battery needed? Should I only plug it into the camera to male it work?
Yes exactly! No batteries needed just plug it in and you're good to go!
Is this mic 2 directional? front and back? or just the front?
It is single direction only
@@AndrewKnepper thanks
What are you doing in post to remove the hissing sound?
I haven't encountered any hissing with this microphone. Try making sure it's plugged in the whole way, and if you still having problems perhaps run a high frequency filter on the audio. That's my best guess!
@@AndrewKnepper That’s odd. I’m running the same test as you, but I’m not getting the same result. I can’t get rid of the white noise sound without post-processing which then changes how my voice sounds. 🤦♂️
which camera @@CreagenDow
How could I use this with my insta360 x3?
Does it have an audio input jack?
@@AndrewKnepper I have the mic adapter but I'm wondering if there a way to mount it so it will be invisible.
How does it compare with Rode VideoMic Go II, which is the same price?
I have not used that mic so I can't say for sure, but Rode is a solid mic company so I'm sure it sounds great! The Sennheiser is going to be much more compact compared to the Rode VideoMic Go, which is why I chose the MKE 200. Hope this helps!
@@AndrewKnepper Thanks for responding. For my project I need the mic to fit into my pocket attached to my phone and ready to be drawn any time possible. This seems the best option.
Anyone who know audio knows Sennheiser is professional sh$# it's going to be pricey
Sounds like a good company then ?
