In my head I was like "why would he bench YukiKo for Kanji" and immediately answered my own question when I realized she's virtually useless without magic. Lol
I'd say that in any situation, if it's for the express purpose of *finishing off the boss*, if it's required to use it then it's okay. The same thing happens with Persona 3 and 5.
@@DrakeKnight99 Exactly. If there's no way around it, or if it basically amounts to a cutscene that requires your input as the trigger, it doesn't count against the challenge.
Nanako has received help with her homework, run validated. I thought it was just me being unlucky against Kunino-Sagiri with him controlling all 3 party members, nice to see someone else as unlucky as myself. On the lucky side, I managed to get 2 Divine Pillars without manipulating the game. When I figured out who the final boss was, I never wanted to do a starting Persona only run so bad in any of the Perosna games I have played (Portable, Golden, P5/P5R).
30:54 just a heads up, turning off "persona memory" in the settings keeps ur default persona equipped instead of the last one used in battle. Now, u don't need to switch it over & over after every fight. The option is also in persona 5 I myself am pretty stingy with using sp so this challenge is right up my alley. Very entertaining watch. Keep up the good work man
Yeah I know but for some reason I kept forgetting about that and when I finally remembered it didn't matter anymore. I am currently doing a P5R challenge as well so let's see if I remember there when I get to that point :D
OH MY GOD I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE DIVINE PILLAR TACTICS?? Would've saved me so much time, my old tactic was opening every single golden chest from Izanami's dungeon 😩
Something weird about the castle method, I found that the chest having an enemy or not (reaper if 22nd chest) was pretty much fixed and the same two chests didn't work for about 20 attempts. I then went to the bathhouse and eventually got one so I think it was fixed somehow
I know it’s been two years but there’s a setting called persona memory, if you turn it off every battle will start with the same persona regardless of what you ended the last persona with
I remember my first time running through p5(not royal), when I hit the final dungeon, I had somehow fused a trumpeter with only 1 active skill, triple shot.
I’m late here but every game with stuff like High Counter I just think “works 20% of the time, every time” versus things that have 90% chance to hit’ yet miss every time
It’s disappointing that despite satanael being the strongest persona it lacks a powerful signature move and it’s ability is for magic which isn’t in theme of the gun. Izanagi is better in every way with country maker and myriad truth. I wished sinful shell could be used as a signature powerful gun skill.
Skill manipulation IMO is much harder than Golden Hands. Also with the exception of the already known manipulations used in speedruns there is a lot of trial and error involved trying to manipulate certain skills. Combine that with me not wanting to be incredibly OP in the second dungeon already to just steamroll the entire game I decided against it. Turns out its still not as bad as I was initially expecting :)
55:40 as someone with 700 hours in the game's vita edition, I can easily confirm that the randomness is only a thing in the 2020 rereleases, much like always being able to change difficulty; you used to have to be in NG+ in order to change thr difficulty after setting it at the very beginning of the game.
Sorry for the video length, I hope you still enjoy :)
You deliver amazing content, thanks for putting so much hard work into it! So rewarding to see your vids in my feed 😁
Make em long as ya want Ragnar, listening to rubs like this get me through work an such.

I’m not sure I understand. Why “sorry”? It’s not long enough to be annoying or difficult, but it’s not so short as to be lacking in content
Should quickly point out. Adachi actually does have a 50% Phys resistance, its just not shown as one.
Just like P4 Vanilla lol

Yeah in a run like this it would be better to use characters with more HP.

@@Cryptic_Diamond yeah that too.
Her magic output is literally the only reason why most players still equip her with Suzaku Feather even on late game

Such a memorable skill

Ah, yes, Monsieur Honore de Balzac. Yep, it's a real person.
@@PureLunarioh you mean the French writer? Yeah I know him. Haven’t read his stuff, but I am pretty interested.

Thank you 😊
i wish more ppl did challenge runs for p4 ty for putting the time into this

I hate when challenge runners do crap like that. If it's needed then it shouldn't count as a failed run

@DrakeKnight99 i mean, its an answer to the question: no, you can't.

I got a ps2 and persona 4… A WEEK BEFORE THE NINTENDO SWITCH ANUNCMENT

Oh man thank you so much for this comment, my default persona switching constantly was driving me nuts.
Same for P3
So this video feels like a cake walk since I saw the "No Random Encounters" before this run

*Ragnar:* 💡!!
It's a pet peave of mine how the name you chose was actually Tyson Mike because you type the last name first, but otherwise great video
Jesus, this challenge sounds rough.
Why play the game when I can just watch this lol
joke aside, this is good content
Dude, it took me like half an hour to get that Shiho joke. Wow. I laughed, but damn.
you should try pq or pq2 with only mcs or without sub personas!
