In world of tanks that is not that fast to be killed from an opponent. But there are gamemods in WoT. There you can respawn like in WT. My opinion is, that both games are quit good.
Warthunder is nothing like being a real tanker and as far as both games go wot is at least a fun game warthunder is a pisspoorly put together POS excuse for a money milker with nothing but russian bias.

@Horst Wessel ye, there is one upper hull plate which is placed slightly on angle, and when you try to shoot into lower place of turret, shell just ricochet or gets eaten by that plate

In WOT since you are in sniper mode you can’t see it but with things like howitzers the gun aims up creating the arc effect, it still depends on the reticle Rng wether you hit them or not though

Both players from both games wouldnt know how to drive a damn tank anyways. Imagine players in real war being like "oh you need more than 1 person to drive a tank?" "what do you mean i cant move the turret with my mouse?" "what do you mean that if I die I don't get to respawn back?" "what do you mean i cant rage quit in the middle of the battle because this matchmaking is unfair?"
Well revenge bombing is real, but 8/10 times you can avoid that by just repositioning. But I know and understand you. If a player is hell bent on killing u, he will.
It'a cool and all, but in real life, a shell with no HE filler would be much more effective than in War Thunder. IRL, a solid shot shell would bounce off of the inner walls of the tank like a pinball, but in WT it just disappears after passing through once. IRL, if your tank got penetrated, it was disabled immediately and the crew would bail.

When I unlocked the M3 Lee in WoT, I fucking cried when I couldn't use both cannons. Thank you War Thunder for making the ability to shoot both of them a reality for me.
what he meant is probably the continuous shots on a single area. Since shooting the commander's hatch mostly only kills the commander under normal cases, you can't abusively shoot the same area and kill the whole crew since there's nothing vital there left. Well ofc stuff like the KV-2 and other tanks using HE based shots can kill the whole crew if concentrated on the hatch especially if the ammo storage is behind the commander haha.

@@tokk0v331Cant tell you how many times that Circular reticle in WoT pissed me off... so many times if that was not a mechanic, would've gotten so many more kills, so much more damage done... especially when I mainly played artillery in WoT, and waiting 20 seconds after firing to shoot an enemy is just... no... with the method in WoT where enemies are spotted depending on your sight range, would work wonders with the Artillery in WoT, but the system with WT where its your eyesight that detects enemies would work wonders in typical battles with WoT. However, when it comes to WoT and WT, you either load up full with premium rounds and "git gud" because of it, or not... and lose 10+ games in a row before you get that one good match where things actually feel balanced.
Love the boats, sadly gaijin still needs to improve some things and fix bugs. I play it on ps4 and sound always bugs is so ugly. Its sad, has pottential but still needs to be revanped. Nevertheless planes and tanks 👌👌👌👌👌👌

Camo system is based on concealment values and cover, whether or not a tank gets spotted by you is mainly down to view range. Highly skilled players can remain unspotted while spotting others. Wot has a massive skill ceiling so better players are able to do absurdly well.

Little correction: the shot accuracy in war thunder isn't 100%. What i mean by that is: tge inaccuracy is not depending on movement, like in WoT, but instead it's depending on factors like the length of the barrel, as well as the condition/damage of the barrel. Although, normally the inaccuracy is so small that it only makes a real difference at ranges of well over 1 km
also certain modifications and shells have different characteristics remember... early british apds is fairly inaccurate and without adjustment of fire its pointless
An then in wot you just have 25% rng so even if you are point blank you miss every so many shots no matter what, and if you snap shot wildly your gonna hit once every so many shots no skill required
Actually golden eagles dont make any big advantages, they need just for buying premium tanks even they are not so special or to speed up the tank research, thats it, you cannot buy premium bullets in WT

2 years after this video was released I play WT, I used to play WoT from time to time but sadly WoT has became pay to win, premium tanks are more OP than ever and premium ammo makes heavy tanks armour almost useless in most of the situations. It became best to use the premium light tanks with premium ammo. Meanwhile in WT there are premium tanks, but they are still not as OP like the ones in WoT are, in WT premiums are mainly for bigger income to boost your progress. Balance is still not that good (Puma and M4A3 at 2.7, great balance) and AA has too mach penetration (the fabulous pizza boy professionally called OTO R3 T20 FA-HS). Both games are not perfect but War Thunder is more frielndly to free to play players, it just takes much longer to progress.

@Lars S altho armor isn't working when you're using Jagdtiger against modern MBT with HEAT-FS, you can still pretty much one-shot it WoT on the other hand, getting uptiered is pain in the ass because your enemy will have far superior HP and DPM

I am WarThunder(WT) player (currently 1887hours of playtime via Steam), and I'd like to try to tell you guys more specific info's about the discussions made from the video, mostly about WT Ground Forces. I did played World of Tanks(WoT), but neither I played it a lot, nor I searched all the tiny little systems in WoT, so please keep that in mind when I say something about WoT. Any corrections, personal argument, or noting grammatical error is welcomed! 2:00 Killing enemies - Since WT uses "Module" system, it offers you an X-ray system inside and outside the game. In the hangar, you can watch all the vehicle's Armor/X-ray vision you can do a preview on(mostly everything except rare event vehicles, which is mostly hidden from the tech-tree if you don't have it). You can see what crew members/modules are in where, and where does the enemy has a weak armor. In game, you can see the enemy's X-ray you damaged(Non-penetration only shows where you hit him), just like in 3:25, on the top-right corner. Therefore, you can see which crew in where is dead, and which module is in where, undamaged, and so on. Also, most of the people (and I highly recommend to) take very less ammunition, mostly 20~30 rounds per tank. This makes some of your ammunition to dissapear, thus making less detonation of ammo (This also makes the difference between the ammoracks between hangar and in-game X-ray.). 5:10 Spotting enemies - Actually, enemies does dissapear in certain situations, like real-far away, inside certain cover. However, it is a very minor thing compared to WoT, being able to see mostly every enemy in a direct view. Also, camo of the vehicle does not affect this system AFAIK. 6:00 Armor and Penetration - It is based on a same thing : The shell with higher pen can go through more armor. But, if you go deeper inside it, it is quite different. In general, WoT is focused on armor, and WT is based on the shell you shoot. This difference mostly becomes visible when you are shooting at angled armor. For example, let's say you want to penetrate through a Panther tank's frontal armor, which is 80mm in 60 degrees, with various types of tanks and shells. In WoT, all shells that have more than roughly 160mm of flat penetration (armor thickness divided by sin(angle)) will be able to penetrate the armor in a same probability, also with same chance of ricochet. In WT, different type of shells have different values of penetration in range, angle, with different chance of ricochet. Therefore 2 different shells that have same 160mm of flat penetration may differ in results, one successfully penetrating, and the other doesn't. 6:30 Vertical aiming - Actually, lead-indicators, which can be found in arcade air battles and some other radar-using high tier vehicles in realistic battles, does calculate the vertical aiming. However, this lead is based on the 'current' enemy's heading direction, so it is reliable mostly when your enemy is moving in a same direction. 7:00 RNG with guns - The thing is, WT also have some RNGs with the aiming. It is mostly seen in machine guns on the aircraft, some tanks, sometimes with only specific ammunition, and ships. But, just like spotting, it is a very minor thing compared to WoT, since the RNG is mostly small enough to be felt only if you try to snipe farther than 800~1000m, or even farther if you use accurate guns with fast shell velocity(which mostly means flying in a straighter arc). 8:16 Artys in WT - There is some tanks which is used as heavy SPAA or Artillery, or hell, even MLRS in real life, mostly as SPGs(Tank Destroyers). However, it is treated almost exactly same as other SPGs : you have to direct-fire, there is nothing like HE shells exploding mid-air. So tanks here doesn't suffer the same problem as artillery in WoT. 9:25 Planes in WT - You can't spawn in your planes in the very first of the match in arcade and realistic battles (except helicopters with no ATGM mounted, in realistic mode). You have to achieve certain requirements(air points / spawnpoints) to do so. You will see the aircrafts flying over your head being roughly 70% fighters, 20% attackers, and 10% bombers. Fighters are small, nimble, and aggressive, with smaller requirements to spawn, which is everything useful. But they have bad ground-striking capabilities, or costs more spawnpoints to spawn with ground-striking armaments, costing almost on par to a bomber. Attackers and bombers are hard to use, and not that efficient in general, so they are often used in memes(such as a bomber "Pe-8"s biggest bomb in-game : 5000kg). 16:05 Battle Ratings(BR) - Many vehicles' BRs differ in gamemodes(AB/RB/SB) - that is probably the main reason why LuckyLeopard messed up with the Tiger II 10.5cm(BR 7.0/6.7/6.7) and Maus(8.0/7.7/7.7). Also, if you make a lineup of tanks and planes, the matchmaker will determine your BR with the vehicle that has the highest BR. So taking a single 9.0 tank with 6 other 2.0 tanks is still considered as "9.0 lineup". 17:14 Vehicle Research - You can research other vehicles freely, but it also has some limits. For a normal, tech-tree vehicle, it can only research the vehicles plus/minus 1 ranks from that specific vehicle. Researching a rank 5 tank with rank 3 tank gives you about half the efficiency of researching rank 4 tank with rank 3 tank, and it gets even worse if the difference in rank gets bigger. For premium vehicles however, it doesn't have a minus-1 rank limit. So a rank 4 premium tank can research all rank 1~5 tanks in maximum efficiency, but not for rank 6 and 7 (So many people tend to buy rank 6 premium vehicles for research, but that is causing some other problems as well). 22:00 Convertible XP - WoT does give you tiny amount(5% of the normal XP you gain I believe) of convert.XP which you can use right away in mostly every researching, and normal XPs are stored in each individual tanks, being able to converted if you don't have anything to research with it, of course with money. WT also gives you convert.XP depending on how much normal XP you got, and can be used in all types of tech-trees in different nations(Buying crew skills and modifications for each vehicle with money, however, is done directly from "Golden Eagles"). However, WT doesn't save normal XPs in anywhere, it is used in researching the next vehicle right away, and all the convert.XP requires you to use your money. 24:50 Ammunition types in WT - There are similar, but different problems with ammunition in WT. You have to "research" the ammunition if it's not given for you as free, and those ammunitions costs you in-game currency. It is not as expensive as WoT, but the time you can't use them at all and some high-tier tank's shells which costs about 1000~1300 "Silver Lions"(Most of the low-tier/low-price research shells cost 30~250 Silver Lions in general, mostly depending on the tank's rank) still does have some problem. Some tanks also suffer high repair costs(Mostly because they have higher win rate/kills : balance the game, not the currency Gaijin!!), which WoT's mid-to high tier tanks also suffers. EDIT : We just had a economy patch. Many super expensive shells got cheaper, and vehicles that are 1~2 ranks lower than maximum also got cheaper to research and buy! Also includes a minor "balance patch" with repair costs.. Yeah.. Personally, I moved from WoT to WT because I heard it is more "Realistic", and stayed here because I liked many types of vehicles you could use (planes over the tank warfare), and the module damage-system. I played WoT because i thought my PC can't handle War Thunder. Then i found out that my PC can run War Thunder at 12 fps with lowest settings and old graphic mode. I never came back to WoT.
What hell to expect if you're transitioning: War Thunder -> World Of tanks -Artillery is hell -Broken Matchmaking -Need to pay REAL money to have access to more powerful shells -Tanks that never existed -Seal clubbers (Pros who bully noobs for higher wirate) -10% of the grind are tiers I - V, the other 90% is the grind from VI - X -Completely RNG based game -"Crew Stun" -WAYYYY more russian bias than war thunder -Mediorce maps -Can't use multi turrets/machine guns, (Ex. M3 Lee can shoot all guns on WT but not on WOT) World of tanks -> World of tanks -Artillery is not hell, but now planes are hell -"Overpressure" -Anti aircraft is in shambles (Wirbelwind) -War thuder grind is fucking horrible, -Repair cost (If your vehicle dies, have fun paying 45k Ingame currency if your using a high tier vehicle) -"Crew will be on a mission" -Stupid fucking Italian R3s -Less rng based, but still rng based because gaijin decides where your shell lands, not you! -ALOT of seal clubbers, Top tier is a mess and no one plays it -Atricious Battle ratings (Tiger 2 fighting Cold war era tanks) I've played both, and can say both are fun and horrible
At the beginning I used to play WoT and after playing it several years I got bored at it so I installed WT, both of them are really good, I keep playing both today, but in my opinion WT rewards you for your skill and RNG isn't there to destroy your match. (Sorry for the bad English :P)
WT has horrible balance tho. One death leavers, horrible BR balancing by player stats not objective values, spawn camping with planes, spawn camping with tanks, Close-air support, revenge bombers (you kill them and they bomb you with plane) etc... Although I play WT only because WoT has a server-side network model which is horrible.
Fred Keys in that way, with having a one life only in a match makes the game even more realistic than respawning evertime you died in a match, it makes the player won't fear of roaming around and won't take the priority like objectives because it's possible to be turned out a mayhem.
Back in the day when WT was just emerging, i played WoT alot. I heard that War Thunder would have combined arms. I was stoked! I played the both. WoT for tanks, WT for planes, as that was all it had at the time. Then WT released ground forces and i have not played WoT since. Its a kids game in my eyes
wt while it certainly has a lot of problems, it still is being improved upon somewhat regularly...even if it isn't exactly what the community wants. but probably the great community for wt is why i stay, there are really good content creators who genuinely care about making the game the best it can it be, like they actually held massive 64 player custom events, recreating historic battles like Dunkirk, and Midway(they even made movies out of it), and its just incredible to see what can be achieved and the potential the game has, and the community has taken it upon themselves to implement these improvements even if the devs dont. and to me, that's pretty neat.
I haven't spent a single cent on war thunder. I have over 300 hours in war thunder and just never felt a need to do so. I was stuck with an old laptop for a while and decided to give world of tanks a try. After the first few battles I realised that I could buy shells for real world money. I uninstalled the game.

It's mostly a problem for new players who aren't to sure if they truly like the game or don't know what to buy. But if you're someone like me(I have well over 2000 hours in war thunder) you know what to buy without feeling ript off. And world of tanks didn't have any real competition in the genre for a good while so selling 1 use items for irl money worked, but the game has changed a little from what I've heard and the premshells can no longer be bought with gold.

At first I really liked WoT and played it alot until I found War Thunder and I deleted WoT. Didn’t even regret it (Insert cringy edit appreciating the likes)
I honestly find the WT grind to be way easier, it's so much better to be able to use multiple tanks in one match to research any vehicle I can, instead of having to use one vehicle to research only the one directly after it. Another major factor is that you get WAY more RP from warthunder matches, easily getting thousands if you perform well in arcade. Sim matches get a whole lot, so I honestly find the warthunder grind more tolerable to me.
I personally enjoy War Thunder way more. The accuracy system in WoT actually makes me anxious because I can't hit shit, in War Thunder I can hit stuff as long as my aim is decent and I'm not shooting from 1,5km away. Also, War Thunder's monetization system is largely pay to progress and not pay to win, like in WoT. You can purchase golden eagles, with which you can buy premium vehicles and boost your research progress, which doesn't really give you an advantage except for module research but those don't take too much time to research by just playing the game, so I don't see it as an issue. Premium vehicles aren't pay to win because they are ranked in a balanced manner. They're generally different, but not better. They just give you more rewards, that's basically it. The only way where I could see using real money to get an in-game advantage is the use of decals, especially in realistic and simulator battles because they can conceal you quite well and also make the enemy shoot in the wrong spot by concealing your weakspots, but it isn't that big of an issue because you can unlock them via gameplay (granted, it takes quite a long time).

After playing +30,000 battles in WoT I tried WT. Never went back to WoT. Both are fun but WT is a much better game. Also WT is cross platform, you play with everyone.
Well I used to say that too, but after investing a good 600 hours into WT I can definitely say I prefer WoT, specially with how they’re doing things now. The game overall feels more polished, the physics feel slightly better and not as clunky as WT. Theres no fucking annoying spawn camping and in higher BR its just who fires first because its almost always a one-shot. I got to the point that kills didint really feel special anymore in WT and they fill matches even in higher BR with bots. Dont get me started on their shitty customer support and how I cant repair the tank or have a fire extinguisher while stock lol
But the absolute best thing about Warthunder: INFORMATION ACCESS. The in-game format provides one area to test drive vehicles and display hit zones/equipment. You don't need to download a hit zone mod to learn. The other great thing is the co-op modes and single player campaigns. WoT also has CW and Stronghold 'domination' by a few big clans which prevents new clans from having a chance to rise.

When friends wanted me to describe WoT and WT difference, I say "Its like CoD and Arma." I play activelly both games (about 2 days a week for each game). And to be honest, I really like your video with few aditions: 1. Ingame actions/sales etc. WT gives you a chance to earn golden eagle, which is great. However in WoT there is a free xp, x3 xp boost, xp for the crew etc. quite every weekend. All the research is much faster if you utilize these actions. 2. ingame money. In WoT I have played on free acc and even without premium acc or vehicle I was able to "feed" my tier X vehicle without much trouble (few battles in my favourite tank and I could affor one or two battles in tier X). With one premium vehicle I've had never trouble with money ever since. In WT I can win the battle hard and I earn for about 5k. When I lose (and I repair tanks) I can lose 10-40k on tier V which I am currently on. That is pretty frustrating due to fact that I can be dead in one shot. Even with premium vehicles I am hardly able to earn some good amount of money. 3. In game feeling. I play only arcade battles in planes and realistic battles in tanks (helis etc) in WT. It's hard. It's f*cking hard. But I can remember almost every game I was the beast in. When I have 8-12 kills I am extatic. I am proud of myself when I hit the tank for 1500+ meters or when I make the perfect bombrun with my airplane. So in conclusion: WT is much harder, however the feeling of success is much greater. It's more like Cod vs. Rising Storm 2 or Insurgency. WT is sort of a bridge between arcade and true milsim. There isn't really a true dedicated milsim tank game on the market rn, as far as I can tell.

When I tried WOT after playing WT, I couldn't figure out why I kept missing. Turns out I was aiming too far up.
I got both games and that happends to me too, well especially with derp guns like KV 2
In WOT since you are in sniper mode you can’t see it but with things like howitzers the gun aims up creating the arc effect, it still depends on the reticle Rng wether you hit them or not though
Thats one of the reasons for i dont like WOT mechanics, RNG hates me, even the most perfect aimed shot misses

I absolutely love War Thunder's shell simulation and when it shows what the shell does to explode the tank.
It'a cool and all, but in real life, a shell with no HE filler would be much more effective than in War Thunder. IRL, a solid shot shell would bounce off of the inner walls of the tank like a pinball, but in WT it just disappears after passing through once.
IRL, if your tank got penetrated, it was disabled immediately and the crew would bail.

what he meant is probably the continuous shots on a single area. Since shooting the commander's hatch mostly only kills the commander under normal cases, you can't abusively shoot the same area and kill the whole crew since there's nothing vital there left.
Well ofc stuff like the KV-2 and other tanks using HE based shots can kill the whole crew if concentrated on the hatch especially if the ammo storage is behind the commander haha.
Pretty much just any Russian or German tank with over 100G of explosive filler actually. Lol

@@tokk0v331Cant tell you how many times that Circular reticle in WoT pissed me off... so many times if that was not a mechanic, would've gotten so many more kills, so much more damage done... especially when I mainly played artillery in WoT, and waiting 20 seconds after firing to shoot an enemy is just... no... with the method in WoT where enemies are spotted depending on your sight range, would work wonders with the Artillery in WoT, but the system with WT where its your eyesight that detects enemies would work wonders in typical battles with WoT. However, when it comes to WoT and WT, you either load up full with premium rounds and "git gud" because of it, or not... and lose 10+ games in a row before you get that one good match where things actually feel balanced.

Camo system is based on concealment values and cover, whether or not a tank gets spotted by you is mainly down to view range. Highly skilled players can remain unspotted while spotting others. Wot has a massive skill ceiling so better players are able to do absurdly well.

Little correction: the shot accuracy in war thunder isn't 100%. What i mean by that is: tge inaccuracy is not depending on movement, like in WoT, but instead it's depending on factors like the length of the barrel, as well as the condition/damage of the barrel. Although, normally the inaccuracy is so small that it only makes a real difference at ranges of well over 1 km
also certain modifications and shells have different characteristics remember...
early british apds is fairly inaccurate and without adjustment of fire its pointless

An then in wot you just have 25% rng so even if you are point blank you miss every so many shots no matter what, and if you snap shot wildly your gonna hit once every so many shots no skill required

2 years after this video was released I play WT, I used to play WoT from time to time but sadly WoT has became pay to win, premium tanks are more OP than ever and premium ammo makes heavy tanks armour almost useless in most of the situations. It became best to use the premium light tanks with premium ammo.
Meanwhile in WT there are premium tanks, but they are still not as OP like the ones in WoT are, in WT premiums are mainly for bigger income to boost your progress. Balance is still not that good (Puma and M4A3 at 2.7, great balance) and AA has too mach penetration (the fabulous pizza boy professionally called OTO R3 T20 FA-HS).
Both games are not perfect but War Thunder is more frielndly to free to play players, it just takes much longer to progress.
Sometimes the premium vehicles in WT are even that good but still gives you a taste of power lol

In Realistic Battles, there is also no aim indicator, guns are more unstable, and tanks are much slower and less maneuverable

I am WarThunder(WT) player (currently 1887hours of playtime via Steam), and I'd like to try to tell you guys more specific info's about the discussions made from the video, mostly about WT Ground Forces.
I did played World of Tanks(WoT), but neither I played it a lot, nor I searched all the tiny little systems in WoT, so please keep that in mind when I say something about WoT.
Any corrections, personal argument, or noting grammatical error is welcomed!
2:00 Killing enemies - Since WT uses "Module" system, it offers you an X-ray system inside and outside the game. In the hangar, you can watch all the vehicle's Armor/X-ray vision you can do a preview on(mostly everything except rare event vehicles, which is mostly hidden from the tech-tree if you don't have it). You can see what crew members/modules are in where, and where does the enemy has a weak armor. In game, you can see the enemy's X-ray you damaged(Non-penetration only shows where you hit him), just like in 3:25, on the top-right corner. Therefore, you can see which crew in where is dead, and which module is in where, undamaged, and so on. Also, most of the people (and I highly recommend to) take very less ammunition, mostly 20~30 rounds per tank. This makes some of your ammunition to dissapear, thus making less detonation of ammo (This also makes the difference between the ammoracks between hangar and in-game X-ray.).
5:10 Spotting enemies - Actually, enemies does dissapear in certain situations, like real-far away, inside certain cover. However, it is a very minor thing compared to WoT, being able to see mostly every enemy in a direct view. Also, camo of the vehicle does not affect this system AFAIK.
6:00 Armor and Penetration - It is based on a same thing : The shell with higher pen can go through more armor. But, if you go deeper inside it, it is quite different. In general, WoT is focused on armor, and WT is based on the shell you shoot. This difference mostly becomes visible when you are shooting at angled armor. For example, let's say you want to penetrate through a Panther tank's frontal armor, which is 80mm in 60 degrees, with various types of tanks and shells. In WoT, all shells that have more than roughly 160mm of flat penetration (armor thickness divided by sin(angle)) will be able to penetrate the armor in a same probability, also with same chance of ricochet. In WT, different type of shells have different values of penetration in range, angle, with different chance of ricochet. Therefore 2 different shells that have same 160mm of flat penetration may differ in results, one successfully penetrating, and the other doesn't.
6:30 Vertical aiming - Actually, lead-indicators, which can be found in arcade air battles and some other radar-using high tier vehicles in realistic battles, does calculate the vertical aiming. However, this lead is based on the 'current' enemy's heading direction, so it is reliable mostly when your enemy is moving in a same direction.
7:00 RNG with guns - The thing is, WT also have some RNGs with the aiming. It is mostly seen in machine guns on the aircraft, some tanks, sometimes with only specific ammunition, and ships. But, just like spotting, it is a very minor thing compared to WoT, since the RNG is mostly small enough to be felt only if you try to snipe farther than 800~1000m, or even farther if you use accurate guns with fast shell velocity(which mostly means flying in a straighter arc).
8:16 Artys in WT - There is some tanks which is used as heavy SPAA or Artillery, or hell, even MLRS in real life, mostly as SPGs(Tank Destroyers). However, it is treated almost exactly same as other SPGs : you have to direct-fire, there is nothing like HE shells exploding mid-air. So tanks here doesn't suffer the same problem as artillery in WoT.
9:25 Planes in WT - You can't spawn in your planes in the very first of the match in arcade and realistic battles (except helicopters with no ATGM mounted, in realistic mode). You have to achieve certain requirements(air points / spawnpoints) to do so. You will see the aircrafts flying over your head being roughly 70% fighters, 20% attackers, and 10% bombers. Fighters are small, nimble, and aggressive, with smaller requirements to spawn, which is everything useful. But they have bad ground-striking capabilities, or costs more spawnpoints to spawn with ground-striking armaments, costing almost on par to a bomber. Attackers and bombers are hard to use, and not that efficient in general, so they are often used in memes(such as a bomber "Pe-8"s biggest bomb in-game : 5000kg).
16:05 Battle Ratings(BR) - Many vehicles' BRs differ in gamemodes(AB/RB/SB) - that is probably the main reason why LuckyLeopard messed up with the Tiger II 10.5cm(BR 7.0/6.7/6.7) and Maus(8.0/7.7/7.7). Also, if you make a lineup of tanks and planes, the matchmaker will determine your BR with the vehicle that has the highest BR. So taking a single 9.0 tank with 6 other 2.0 tanks is still considered as "9.0 lineup".
17:14 Vehicle Research - You can research other vehicles freely, but it also has some limits. For a normal, tech-tree vehicle, it can only research the vehicles plus/minus 1 ranks from that specific vehicle. Researching a rank 5 tank with rank 3 tank gives you about half the efficiency of researching rank 4 tank with rank 3 tank, and it gets even worse if the difference in rank gets bigger. For premium vehicles however, it doesn't have a minus-1 rank limit. So a rank 4 premium tank can research all rank 1~5 tanks in maximum efficiency, but not for rank 6 and 7 (So many people tend to buy rank 6 premium vehicles for research, but that is causing some other problems as well).
22:00 Convertible XP - WoT does give you tiny amount(5% of the normal XP you gain I believe) of convert.XP which you can use right away in mostly every researching, and normal XPs are stored in each individual tanks, being able to converted if you don't have anything to research with it, of course with money. WT also gives you convert.XP depending on how much normal XP you got, and can be used in all types of tech-trees in different nations(Buying crew skills and modifications for each vehicle with money, however, is done directly from "Golden Eagles"). However, WT doesn't save normal XPs in anywhere, it is used in researching the next vehicle right away, and all the convert.XP requires you to use your money.
24:50 Ammunition types in WT - There are similar, but different problems with ammunition in WT. You have to "research" the ammunition if it's not given for you as free, and those ammunitions costs you in-game currency. It is not as expensive as WoT, but the time you can't use them at all and some high-tier tank's shells which costs about 1000~1300 "Silver Lions"(Most of the low-tier/low-price research shells cost 30~250 Silver Lions in general, mostly depending on the tank's rank) still does have some problem. Some tanks also suffer high repair costs(Mostly because they have higher win rate/kills : balance the game, not the currency Gaijin!!), which WoT's mid-to high tier tanks also suffers.
EDIT : We just had a economy patch. Many super expensive shells got cheaper, and vehicles that are 1~2 ranks lower than maximum also got cheaper to research and buy! Also includes a minor "balance patch" with repair costs.. Yeah..
Personally, I moved from WoT to WT because I heard it is more "Realistic", and stayed here because I liked many types of vehicles you could use (planes over the tank warfare), and the module damage-system.

At the beginning I used to play WoT and after playing it several years I got bored at it so I installed WT, both of them are really good, I keep playing both today, but in my opinion WT rewards you for your skill and RNG isn't there to destroy your match. (Sorry for the bad English :P)
WT has horrible balance tho. One death leavers, horrible BR balancing by player stats not objective values, spawn camping with planes, spawn camping with tanks, Close-air support, revenge bombers (you kill them and they bomb you with plane) etc... Although I play WT only because WoT has a server-side network model which is horrible.

Back in the day when WT was just emerging, i played WoT alot. I heard that War Thunder would have combined arms. I was stoked! I played the both. WoT for tanks, WT for planes, as that was all it had at the time. Then WT released ground forces and i have not played WoT since. Its a kids game in my eyes

wt while it certainly has a lot of problems, it still is being improved upon somewhat regularly...even if it isn't exactly what the community wants.
but probably the great community for wt is why i stay, there are really good content creators who genuinely care about making the game the best it can it be, like they actually held massive 64 player custom events, recreating historic battles like Dunkirk, and Midway(they even made movies out of it), and its just incredible to see what can be achieved and the potential the game has, and the community has taken it upon themselves to implement these improvements even if the devs dont.
and to me, that's pretty neat.

I haven't spent a single cent on war thunder. I have over 300 hours in war thunder and just never felt a need to do so. I was stuck with an old laptop for a while and decided to give world of tanks a try. After the first few battles I realised that I could buy shells for real world money. I uninstalled the game.

It's mostly a problem for new players who aren't to sure if they truly like the game or don't know what to buy. But if you're someone like me(I have well over 2000 hours in war thunder) you know what to buy without feeling ript off. And world of tanks didn't have any real competition in the genre for a good while so selling 1 use items for irl money worked, but the game has changed a little from what I've heard and the premshells can no longer be bought with gold.

I honestly find the WT grind to be way easier, it's so much better to be able to use multiple tanks in one match to research any vehicle I can, instead of having to use one vehicle to research only the one directly after it. Another major factor is that you get WAY more RP from warthunder matches, easily getting thousands if you perform well in arcade. Sim matches get a whole lot, so I honestly find the warthunder grind more tolerable to me.

I personally enjoy War Thunder way more. The accuracy system in WoT actually makes me anxious because I can't hit shit, in War Thunder I can hit stuff as long as my aim is decent and I'm not shooting from 1,5km away.
Also, War Thunder's monetization system is largely pay to progress and not pay to win, like in WoT. You can purchase golden eagles, with which you can buy premium vehicles and boost your research progress, which doesn't really give you an advantage except for module research but those don't take too much time to research by just playing the game, so I don't see it as an issue. Premium vehicles aren't pay to win because they are ranked in a balanced manner. They're generally different, but not better. They just give you more rewards, that's basically it. The only way where I could see using real money to get an in-game advantage is the use of decals, especially in realistic and simulator battles because they can conceal you quite well and also make the enemy shoot in the wrong spot by concealing your weakspots, but it isn't that big of an issue because you can unlock them via gameplay (granted, it takes quite a long time).

After playing +30,000 battles in WoT I tried WT. Never went back to WoT. Both are fun but WT is a much better game. Also WT is cross platform, you play with everyone.

Well I used to say that too, but after investing a good 600 hours into WT I can definitely say I prefer WoT, specially with how they’re doing things now. The game overall feels more polished, the physics feel slightly better and not as clunky as WT. Theres no fucking annoying spawn camping and in higher BR its just who fires first because its almost always a one-shot. I got to the point that kills didint really feel special anymore in WT and they fill matches even in higher BR with bots. Dont get me started on their shitty customer support and how I cant repair the tank or have a fire extinguisher while stock lol

I love war thunder
But the absolute best thing about Warthunder: INFORMATION ACCESS. The in-game format provides one area to test drive vehicles and display hit zones/equipment. You don't need to download a hit zone mod to learn. The other great thing is the co-op modes and single player campaigns. WoT also has CW and Stronghold 'domination' by a few big clans which prevents new clans from having a chance to rise.

TKS 20 the premium shot you can pay with real money at least war thunder lets you use every type of shell without paying money

When friends wanted me to describe WoT and WT difference, I say "Its like CoD and Arma." I play activelly both games (about 2 days a week for each game). And to be honest, I really like your video with few aditions:
1. Ingame actions/sales etc. WT gives you a chance to earn golden eagle, which is great. However in WoT there is a free xp, x3 xp boost, xp for the crew etc. quite every weekend. All the research is much faster if you utilize these actions.
2. ingame money. In WoT I have played on free acc and even without premium acc or vehicle I was able to "feed" my tier X vehicle without much trouble (few battles in my favourite tank and I could affor one or two battles in tier X). With one premium vehicle I've had never trouble with money ever since. In WT I can win the battle hard and I earn for about 5k. When I lose (and I repair tanks) I can lose 10-40k on tier V which I am currently on. That is pretty frustrating due to fact that I can be dead in one shot. Even with premium vehicles I am hardly able to earn some good amount of money.
3. In game feeling. I play only arcade battles in planes and realistic battles in tanks (helis etc) in WT. It's hard. It's f*cking hard. But I can remember almost every game I was the beast in. When I have 8-12 kills I am extatic. I am proud of myself when I hit the tank for 1500+ meters or when I make the perfect bombrun with my airplane. So in conclusion: WT is much harder, however the feeling of success is much greater.

@Hirsch _LP the "fake" tanks give more fun, as for your grinding you get rewarded with an interesting-looking tank instead of a 100th copy with slightly different name and characteristics (looking at you PZ-4)

@Horst Wessel nope, Bedrock and Java still same genre so the gameplay pretty identical. In this case, tanks is the only same thing both game had, gameplay are completely different.
P/S: I'm playing both game, USSR 8.7 in WT and 5 tier X in WoT
It's more like Cod vs. Rising Storm 2 or Insurgency. WT is sort of a bridge between arcade and true milsim. There isn't really a true dedicated milsim tank game on the market rn, as far as I can tell.

You also forgot to say that wt actually have character models, especially in the open top tank destroyers. World of tanks doesn't.

world of tanks does not have respawn, random battles are basically the only game mode you're gonna be playing
If you command whole tank in War thunder (with 2-6+ crew members), why not command several crews? It's like reinforcements that come later, roughly talking
In WT you can choose mode with respawns or without.... so
Well, yeah. That's the point. It's an arcade game. War Thunder and WoT coexist explicitly because they offer two entirely different styles of game. War Thunder is a simulator. WoT is an arcade game. Some people prefer simulators because they like the realism, others prefer arcade because they find realism boring and want a tank-style shooter. There's nothing wrong with either of those things.
