    Commenting for the algorithm, this series really helped me get into Qud.
    Currently the farthest I’ve ever gotten, true kin Artifex sniper/dual-wield short swords build that has taken me (metaphorically, I haven’t actually been yet) to the steps of Golgotha. Unfortunately poor Dell was deprived of all of his limbs and face by a madpole on his way to buy armor, and only had enough uber juice grow one arm back.
    Going to try to fish out the gear and implants he lost with his limbs. After that, I’m sending my little engineer off to Golgotha for a blaze-of-glory suicide run, armed only with a chain pistol, a backpack full of high-explosive grenades, and a deathwish. My one hope is that it will be nothing short of balls-to-the-wall glorious.
    Thanks for the guide!

      I love this. It's really great to know I helped you get into this awesome game, but I love to read how the early steps of qud are going. I won't spoil how (unless you'd really like me to) but there are ways of regrowing your limbs that don't require ubers, however at your stage they are a little exploitative. if you can manage to beat golgatha in your state, first of all, congrats, but you may have an easier time getting your limbs back!
      Thanks so much for feeding the ever-hungry maw of the algorithm and for watching my vids! I hope maybe you can keep me filled in on Dells struggles!

    Thank you. I've played this game for 69 hours and I haven't been able to get through golgotha, I thought I just wasn't cut out for Qud but with this tutorial I think I can do it. Thanks for not spoiling the experience too you're a rare type of guide and I appreciate that.

    It's a lot of information to assimilate (even if they are "basic" things) but with time I will learn them.. "Journey before Destination" hehe (it will be worth the journay through the lands of Qud). Live and drink.

    Thank you so much for your tutorials! I was finally able to get into the game after a very long time pondering whether I should buy it, but it seemed to daunting. I've played around 10hrs since I started watching you and I'm having a blast. How long do you think I should stick to the Joppa start? I've died 4 times and each run I can make it even further, but I'm growing kind of tired of doing the same starting quests over and over.

    • @BigSimple
      @BigSimple  3 роки тому +6

      If you're starting to get sick of Joppa. Then that's as good a time as any, but I find this means I need a break from qud, don't burn yourself out!
      The random starting areas aren't too much harder, but you will need to recognize which starting quest is necessary and which isn't. I've gotten starting quests at random villages that are very instantly too much! If this is the case, take some time and do some exploring around the marshes.
      I really like salt dessert start but I've gotten weird looks for that, either way, as long as you're enjoying yourself, take on random villages!

    • @plexim1591
      @plexim1591 3 роки тому

      @@BigSimple Thanks for your timely answer once again! Maybe I phrased that incorrectly. I'm not sick of Joppa, is just since I'm still new and die relatively early (around lvl 12) I'm growing kind of tired of doing the Critters and Copper Wire quests every single time I restart, it just gets repetitive, but I love the town of Joppa and everything else, is just those 2 quests now feel like a chore I must complete before the actual run starts.

    • @BigSimple
      @BigSimple  3 роки тому

      Oh no I totally get what you mean, I also get kind of exhausted by taking the starting quests, definitely that's when I try a random village, but I usually find myself going back to Joppa eventually 😃

      salt dunes is one of the easier starting locations since it puts you closer to the six day stilt. get the quest to go there, beeline and boom easy levels right at the start.

    Honestly, I'd still love to see a video about Golgotha and how to get through it without cheese. I've beaten it maybe 3 or 4 times now, can get _to_ it with decent consistency, and have a mental list of things I do each playthrough before I even think about entering it, but I still usually die there.

      Seeing as it takes a little time to warm up tinkering and that it is most helpful to the mid-late game, you could definitely get away with getting it that way. There is an added bonus to grabbing scavenger before you get to golgatha but I won't spoil that.
