Matt was killing it in my opinion..
Matt is like 50 some years old right? And he used to play for animals as leaders before periphery, Matt destroyed him.
If these two guys heard you all comparing them, they'd laugh. They are master class, way above the level of "whose better". Matt G is used to playing a bigger kit versus Halpert whose right at home with this setup at all times. Both great/accomplished drummers no matter when/where they play.
Everyone is saying Matt was better, but the joke is that they are both called Matt.
So jokes on... you know

I think these two are among the best (known of) modern drummers today. This is absolutely relative, as there is no best and it’s quite subjective

No problemo! This was awesome to see. Plus, as i recall they were playing dueling in the streets for like 45minutes straight.
Man, this was awesome. This is before I walked up, but I caught the latter 45 minutes. I was thinking, "wow, two of the best drummers in the world are out here playing for free!"

I can't get over how great this sounds. Between the mic quality and the sound of both their kits playing simultaneously, it sounds like some kind of crazy IDM breakbeat from the 5th dimension

David Rojas I recorded it with Google Glass...so the audio is rough. I was testing the quality of the technology when I went to the festival

Lol there’s definitely other videos out there. This was captured through a new piece of tech called Google Glass. The mic wasn’t broken, just not perfected yet. I was hired to experiment with the tech, not really focus on how good the audio was.
They should call Muse's singer Matt Bellamy to form a band and simply call it: MATT

you would think a modern cell phone would have so much better audio.
It actually wasn’t filmed with a cell phone....it was a new technology called “Google Glass” . It was an experimental device so they really didn’t have the audio aspect worked out. The device was ultimately discontinued.

It was filmed through Google Glass. I was experimenting with new tech and the audio distorts pretty easy. Which is why the tech never made it.

lol it was recorded through Google Glass. Back in 2014 this was new experimental tech which I used at SXSW to document my experience. The microphone on it was not good at all but I'm glad I was able to capture this moment regardless of the audio quality!
