Man, I would’ve really liked to have heard that Z07 in manual mode . seems as if it was in auto and shifting gears too early, those things sound beautiful at 8k. I have a Z07 literally identical. Blk stealth wrap. Adrenaline Red dipped etc ✌🏼

@@2fast2nickeven without the price being mentioned, on tracks like VIR, it’s less than a second off the GT2 RS and 765 LT. With more weight and less power, it’s very impressive that it keeps up with cars like that.
@@Marcello2005 well the Turbo is not really a great comparison to a GT2. Completely different setups. It’s more luxury, comfortable and trimmed out. Plus about 200k less than a 991 Gt2RS

Take it from somebody who took a 1,000 hp car to the Tail you cant really open up faster than 40mph with all the turns. High horespower cars are a bit of a waste on the tail.

@@DragTimeslast time I went through, it was with six people in an Escalade that had never been there before. We went way faster than 40. Most fun I've ever had on a run.

Bliss. Days like these are amazing to drive the GT3RS. At night the GT4RS and when bad weather hits, the Turbo S of course. Would have love to seen a Spyder RS, which would then be my pick.

2:09 I ran up to that lookout point from 4 miles down the hill a couple of months ago. Pretty amazing scenery but boy was that some elevation gain. Such a great video Brooks. Are you still going to be at the auto event in Maryland on August 10th. I will have my 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance there if you want to drive and review it.

Brooks, I had the akrapovic exhaust on my 992 turbo S and it sounded great. It of course didn't spund like a NA high revving engive but it was loud and was great. Also, the sound from the camera is not as good as in real life. I have the gt3 touring and i rev it out, it sounds better than the rs sounds in this video. But great video as always!

@@rustler08 how do they work? They don't quiet or make the exhaust louder? Every active exhaust I've ever had hands on usually has 3 (or more) modes being normal, quiet, or sport/track

The reason I buy GT3s and not RS is the rear wing is so overkill on a street car. The gt3 looks more organic

@@taniaantioch-pe9fx They most certainly break lol. IMS bearing failure comes to mind. 9K+ RPM limiter for like 10 seconds straight on a 4L motor is no cake walk for anything.

Nah, the GT3RS has aftermarket exhaust and downpipes. Also, the Corvette's stock exhaust system is designed to send some of the sound forward, so a mic behind and above the exhaust wouldn't capture the holistic sound of the Z06.
I know the GT3 RS does NOT have a stock exhuast but what about the Z06!?!

I was up there the same week in my 991.2 RS, hoped 'id run into you on the foothills.
The Hellbender is by far one of the best sections of road in the US.

I hate when people do donuts like that. Just no control, fully pinned bouncing the rev limiter lol. My best friend does that in his 570s and you can hear the car hurtin 😂

How are the police nowadays on tail of the dragon? Still let you do your thing or have they clamped down? I remember all the superbike groups gave them fits.
We saw them out there at the end of one of the runs...... radar picked them up way ahead of time....

@DragTimes Brooks, PLEASE tell me you ran the Cherohala Skyway while you were near Tellico Plains! That’s the real reason to visit. Dragon is nice, but crowded. The Skyway is 100mph sweepers for DAYS!

@@DragTimes Just wish I still had my CYM FD. THAT would have been a great car for these roads. You know the mods…like yours but medium vs your large Pettit I/C. The modded RX-8 would keep up with C7 Z-06s on Dragon-like roads between Boone, NC and Bristol, TN, but 2900lbs w/250 vs 2600lbs w/450 makes a big difference.

I really wish Chevy would make a 3.8 liter twin charged straight 6 in an awd C9 (yes c9 because the c8 chassis is too heavy) Corvette. Spice it up a little.
